Is an RV more work to maintain than a house? As full time RVers and former homeowners we have a pretty unique perspective on this question. This is especially true since, in our three years on the road, we have used our RV way more than the typical RVer!
It is a well known fact that travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes are all built to pretty low quality standards. Manufacturers use light weight and low cost RV components and they quite literally throw them together as fast as possible!
Because of this, maintaining an RV can be a lot of work. However, the appliances and other systems are generally simpler and easier to work on than a house. Also, RV's are much smaller and therefore quicker to clean and perform general upkeep on.
So, is an RV more work to maintain than a house? Check out the video to see!
