Painting a Creek Plein Air

- Join me as I paint a lovely creek on the outskirts of the Adelaide city parklands. This was such a nice area to be painting in although the day was a little on the warm side reaching 40 degrees celsius. I completed this painting on location in 7 hours, it is oil paint on hard board. I really like how you did the stream and “walls” surrounding it…a very creation solution. You are a true painter-to paint most of the day…in order to finish it. I love that you saw and added that colorful bird. I’ve never heard the name of it before. Thank you so much for sharing your painting process.

Awww thank you 😊💕 oh yeah eastern rosellas are a common bird over here, actually we are really blessed we have a lot of really beautiful wildlife here in Australia. You're welcome! I always paint on hardboard, but I prime it with either clear or white acrylic gesso. Nice painting as usual!
