It looks a similar design to Craig Butler's with his Digital designs 18s. A really high tuned bandpass with small rear compression chambers. I wonder if you could design a vehicle with tuned ports to the outside which would turn the cabin into the front chamber of a 4th order bandpass, then run sealed boxes at the tuning of the port and bam! A 1 note wonder dB machine....

To think that back in the day team Alma had 32 precision power PC2350's running 64 PPI Pro 10's and it only made 169.6db at the 1997 IASCA world finals. The audio industry has come a long way in 20 years.

well if you really want your mind blown...that 169.6 was on a mic not a pressure sensor so it was really like a 163 or 164 on todays sensors. Which can be done in some daily driven vehicles in the world..playing music

Wow! I've seen a few of these 4th order builds with cylinder shaped sealed boxes, and they were in the mid to upper 160's. Must be something to it. I'm designing a box similar to this right now but with 15's. Well see what it does.

177.6Db, Ouch that's going to be way too much for me and I think it's going to kill me, I am scared to try it. 165DB in that Kicker Q Class L7 subwoofer array van is damn loud enough to cause a tap out. I am happy with it being just loud enough to provide an eardrum massage. I had a nice eardrum massage therapy in a silverado with 2 Kicker L7 15s in a blow through ported box tuned to 32ish hertz though on full tilt.

@@herbyverstink I have actually been quite close to top fuel dragster‘s when they take off and still have my hearing fully intact but I completely understand where you are coming from what that subwoofer does is exactly what your eardrum is doing so once it gets too bad your eardrum blows just like the subwoofer would
@Audio and whips as you call it face boxing that is my favorite way of sound competitions also there’s really no point just to burp a baby or listen to a tone for less than three seconds at a time I’d rather hear a three-minute long sound so it’s not all bass you can actually see their meds and highs and how well they put that shit together to A lot of these base machines are focused strictly on the base and forget about meds and highs contributing to most of the music
It all about containing the sound. The more of the sound waves you can keep in the vehicle the louder it’s gonna be.
Yeah. Look at all those blank surfaces. Nothing is absorbing the sound. If you keep playing a tone, then obviously that shit will resonate like crazy within an enclosure.

Old Armored Wells Fargo truck or A WWII Tank the perfect SPL vehicle . No box just make a steel enclosure like this guys tubes. Likely they are 1/2 " thick or more. Less flex transfers more kinetic energy to shoot that SPL thru the roof.

Damn JP that's louder than alma and she had a concrete floor and doors were filled solid with i think 1.5 inch lexan for windows and windshield i think was 2 priced with a metal splitter in middle windshield might have been a lil thicker i don't remember exact specs but windsheild was bolted down with like 24 lag bolts for each half then I believe 4-6 for each door and that was when she was with kicker she used to 64 subs when she was with PPI and 64 amps and a battery for each amp went to jbl for a short time a believe still running same basic setup just Jul subs and amps. Hard rock cafe invited her to last Vegas she lived in Arizona so wasnt far and she owned a concrete company . but I'm not sure if you even know why she got into car audio but it's a funny story her son had a small system in his car in high school and the other guys with systems made fun of his so she started making calls about sponsorships n such and the rest is history i miss her sweetest coolest older lady you would ever meet in your life last time I seen her in person was SBN 2001 or 2002 when I got there and she seen me she immediately stopped what she was doing gave a big smile and hug i asked if she had plans for dinner after the show some demos and loading up the "BEAST" as it was called she said no so I said where would you like to go it was a group of about a dozen of us with like 3 women including her the rest guys and she says let's meet up at Hooters i asked are you sure she replied with a laugh why not there just tits and hell I have a pair my self lol but that was the last time I seen her in person later that year my uncle was killed in a freak accident she sent a nice thing of flowers and a note that said im sorry I can't make it to the funeral there's alot going here at the factory but here is a check for 1,000 to help the family pay for any expenses. We stayed in touch online through aol instant messenger and one day I got an email she had passed and it felt like loosing a second mother. R.I.P the godmother of bass Alma Gates.

@@lilbo1Y1 she was doing 170s then and that's sealed not outlaw or ports in db drags rules were windows up all doors closed and meter was on windsheild or dash about 6 inches left from pass side and about 6" up she was doing.160s in the suburban she had with PPI in mid 90s and it was just a demo but she did have 64 FLAT CONE PPI 12S The ones when PPI used that honey come material nasa developed they would send just the 12 cone to dealers like me who sold PPI and if someone could come in and was able to break it with there hands they got a free pro 12 no one ever won one and it wasn't even a full 1/4 thick almost weight less.

@@lilbo1Y1 I know I'm 38 now I never tried sq I was in db drags and mecca i took 2nd place in my class with 2 directed comp X's in a 4th order my sub amp blew while I was down there so I had to use my kids amp wich was a Phoenix gold ms 2125 so each sub was getting maybe 150 rms compared to almost 1k rms per sub and they did it kinda like outlaw does it I still managed a 148.8 and that was at nationals
If she was running kicker when u seen her she had already broke into the 170s baxk then they thought it impossible to go over 177 or ever break 180 she did consistent mid 174s

Well. If nothing is absorbing the sound. It should be that hard to achieve 180.5. You can see how the inside of the vehicle is only made of non-absorbing surfaces. That and then proper cabinet-loading should do the job.

Jonas Lewitzky never put car audio in a house, it will destroy the cone because there's too much space for it to work right. It has been known to cause cancer in plants and small pets as well.
Yes you can but not sure why you'd choose an evil. Is it for cinema audio or for partys? If for cinemas i'd get something with a higher fidelity like Focal subwoofers. Also you'd never be able to fully power it with your standard 15amp house breaker. Even the 20amp wall sockets in the kitchen would fall short.
@@doublebubleguy12 The best way to run it would be AGM batteries with a battery charger connected to help keep them charged there’s other ways of doing it to a lot of companies make a pro charger now people are starting to hook up car audio in their houses but more likely hooking them up and their garage

I have only in my room it's 12 qm square meter 12.8kw Rms not loud but 130db in the room from 40hz-20khz very linear the satellite boxes are the RCF 745A and the 712A RCF subwoofer 8003 and beringer 1800 woofer it's a 18 inch too... and 4 x 15 inch with one of this 1.5kw... 😉 but I need more loud 😊

@@kriptic22 I am running double that and have no problems with my electrical and everything is STOCK !!! I am also running an airbag system on a 91 S-10 the battery and alternator are new but they are definitely not high output or high performance and have absolutely no problems with my electrical and I am getting true power to all 3 Amps
@@kriptic22 also the battery meter on my dash does not move at all with system on and using airbags but then again I have American made automobile who knows how badly built foreign cars are they just might need a big three update with a high output alternator and a couple batteries LOL yellow tabs are not as good as they used to be back in the day ever since they moved manufacturing to Mexico sorry meant to say optima yellow top batteries I wish I knew how to share videos and the comments I would show you the battery level on the dash with system on and playing with the airbags

Build the box to a specific tuning frequency and play the actual tuning frequency you built it to ... also make sure the box got no flex and the car too no flex ... flexing = losing acoustical energy ... and there is where you hit them high db my friend. 🤓

@StayClassy. Back in the day we drove the vehicles for days to get to the events. Sometimes we blew the transmissions from the extra weight. You had to play commercially available music and the mic was 26 inches from the seat. Also the SPL meter was a bit tougher than what it is now.

Armored vehicle, bolted doors, fully custom and planned out interior for the best score possible. There is a huge difference.

Its all about containing the sound inside the car... as Vanilla Gorilla said, you pretty much can make more than 150db with less than 30W of power.... 30 fucking watt of power.... Take a good look at the car, it wasnt even wobling basically.... usually when you see 140+db on those shows, look at their windows, look at the doorframes, everything wobbles and that is what reducing sound pressure levels... armored car is helping, also those subs were in metal tubes (aditional rigitity on the sub itself), also they pretty much shut every hole in the car. Its all about containing all that air inside the car, once it gets past all those seals in doors, sound pressure is going down
