This is one of those tracks that slips by you when you're playing because it just fits so well, but going back and listening to it really makes you appreciate how beautiful it is.
It's slips by because it's nowhere in the game lmao. It's meant to be played in the submerged castle but that creepy loop is hardcoded to play instead for some reason
So as a security guard it’s occasionally my job to guard a gate in the middle of nowhere by my self and when I do I like to listen to this song for some reason.
@@tommyjarvis2850 Oh no I’m a graveyard guard and yes it does get pretty spooky. More times than I can count I swear I saw something out of the corner of my eye lol!
I have a weekly radio show that specialises in music from soundtracks and scores. My big five composers are Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Nobuo Uematsu, Ennio Morricone and Hajime Wakai. The man is just a gift - Wind Waker, Pikmin, Star Fox 64, and not long after this comment I hope, Tears of the Kingdom.
Every time I listen to this song I remember all those happy moments I had playing Pikmin Expedition 2, now they will only remain as memories, maybe this game will return in a long time or never again...
Oh? People are extending the Pikmin 2 OST? About time, they're very nice ambient tracks. Although it might also be because of the various stages of music...
@@neypaz8054 hajime wakai did so good on the music soundtrack for this game. Although he should've put Mystic March on more of the water floors. Like Level 9 on Cavern Of Chaos, 10 on Dream Den (same floor design), Level 2 or 4 in Shower Room etc.
@@neypaz8054 yeah true. Even though a lot of people think they're so good. I'd say they choose what music fits/matches best with the sublevel. Sorry about the reply. I have notifications off cause I'll end up with too many.
This always reminded me of Subterranean by David Bowie. The eerie sounds driven forward by that deep bass synth, I feel like it definitely had to have been inspired by Bowie
This song is fantastic, but the sublevel in hole of heroes that it plays in is infuriating. You start out on a stump surrounded by water, water dumples, wollywogs, and fiery blowhogs. Sometimes the enemies attack you right where you spawn. It gets worse in dream den when they repeat this room but with a wandering gatling groink added in.
@@possessed_squash Didn't I see you in Stephen & Mal's comment section of the let's play of Pikmin 2 on the sublevel 8 with the spiders and the pumpkin treasure?
If this song was the thing intended to be on the submerged castle I guess Nintendo liked the unintentional song because they kept it for engulfed castle in pikmin 4 and I think it fits the creepy nature of the cave
My favorite Pikmin 2 cave track, just edging out the ominous melancholy of Graphite Gorge (i think that's the title). So calm yet- as the name goes- mystic, a unique energy compared the others that are bustling, wandering, or outright dread-inducing. And it barely plays in like a single hole. Tragedy🥲
It is a bit of an annoying layout but if you're good at the game, it's actually not that hard of a floor. I just hate the spawnpoint if there's Crawmads or Wollywogs on the wall area.

This has happened to me before. Maybe you fell asleep while listening to the track? There's this phenomenon where if you listen to a song in your sleep your brain processes it differently then if you were awake. Apparently it has to do with brain activity during the REM cycle of sleep. This can probably happen when you're listening to the song on repeat while awake as well, but to a lesser degree. I would just stop listening to this track for awhile and come back to it and it should sound the way you remember it again, eventually.
