Closing riffs here are the most inventive playing, he never stops this guy...
Steve Vai might as well be a fictional character. His world is just so fantastic (in the traditional sense of the word) when compared to mine.
It's inspiring! Let's better manifest our souls and all contribute to a more awesome world 😎
He is a fictitious character
(SINCE OR SENSE)???🤔🤔🤔🤔
He’s like a mad scientist of guitar
Love when it cuts to Steve and he's holding an instrument from a Star Trek episode or something, like it's nothing. Oh, and I have this thing here that I play on.
who are the brain police?!?!
BrainPolice5 🤣 Imagine Vai and Spock jamming on those crazy futuristic guitars. 🎸 🎸
Steve Vai has a child like innocence and sense of wonder and a deep cosmic spiritual depth at the same time, and it translates into his playing and his songs and gives me such a sweet and glorious feeling that only he can give thank you Steve Vai for the gift of your music in my life!
Did any one else notice the crybaby from hell/Dimebag’s sig wah
Vai is an amazing guitarist. Definitely one of the best there is. I would really like to see another G3 tour with Vai, Satriani, and Dweezil Zappa. I love Frank's music and am saddened that he is no longer with us, but his music lives on in his son. Dweezil definitely has mastered his father's music and playing style.
I wouldn’t trust anyone other than Dweezil to continue the Zappa Legacy, of course with a little help from Vai
I bet if Steve never released his tracks, then release it these 2000s, it will still be ground-breaking.
It is beautiful to see how devoted he is to music. A very unique musician.
Thank you Steve.
"Why do I always make the parts so complicated?" Zappa lives on in your fingers, that's why :)
"why do I have to make such hard parts?!" - 'cause you're Steve Vai....that's why! :)
on the Zappa albums the credits listed...
Steve Vai - Impossible Guitar Parts. lol
Not a Vai fan, but damn do I enjoy this type of video. Gotta love it when musicians go back to basics, and when they talk about their first instruments.
The song "And we are one" is so beautiful
I can't decide if I like the vocal or instrumental version better. so many great lead lines
Love this sort of insight from Steve. Total gear head. He loves amps, pedals etc, he told me so himself.!
Não tem limites para Steve Vai.
A música nasce primeiro na mente dele. Depois ela é passada para instrumentos.
Incrível Vai.
I havent listened to Vai for ages but this album sounds so good.
I think it might be one of his best
I've listened to this album. I LOVE IT. Thank you Steve, for giving us your music to enjoy. Thank you. (:
What an awesome bass riff on Mighty Messengers! Can't wait to hear the completed song!!
I have never wanted a go so badly - That harp EBMM is to die for.
Such a successful human!!! In so many ways.
Its good to see Steve mixing it up with some other brands.
@SteveVai. You are Great
Beautiful high resonating frequency as always Steve. Love you X
Amazing to see him with his original 76 Fender Strat. Where it all started.
Beyond the stupendous musicianship, this is a wonderful and inspiring insight into Steve's history and current project.
Amazing! Steve Vai. Bit of jazz funk. You free moving amongst the musical disciplines. I love it. You are in a position to finish your brilliant tracks. I love the foot pedal remark. Relatable. Tipsy terry is what I am known for . Good to see you know your structure well. I am glad in a way I didn’t see and ready to learn the proper fundamentals now. It wouldn’t have being totally right. The movement within the stillness was evident to me while doing Dj work. Music is music . Art is art. Yet a common thread to your work is your musical signature. Steve Vai . The surreal and real live within you. As you are and with light and integrity. Very much a down to earth approach. The man is out there but real on planet earth. Congratulations
Love you, Steve Vai.
that bass line on mighty messengers though.
Rich Lynd Yep!
N O I C E
the bass solo on that song is amazing
So much gear. Awesome. Interesting to see the Dimebag Wah and what appears to be a MusicMan harp guitar? Good stuff.
I know right!!!! What is this weird contraption anyway ?
i was on the concert on friday. he was using a moded cry baby (added spring) instead of his bad horsie II. check out the videos i made
And Dime's fav WH1 Whammy pedal too :D
That wasn't a WH-1... That was the DT
He uses the Crybaby 95q, not the standard crybaby. The 95q does have a spring and it activates itself by just putting your foot on it.
man, what a albun >>>>> i already listen to a hundred times
Congratulations Steve on what appears to be a true masterpiece! Thank you for giving us the gift of your music!
Really cool. Steve is a MASTER musician
Ya gotta love a guy with that much drive and talent--who also has a sense of humour/levity.
The Numbers one in the world of EVER!!! I love you STEVE!!! Thank you for my guitarist live!!!❤️
so very happy to see his journey continue
I could tell when the music started to evolve, and a lot of it had to do with Steve using a Mac. Digital recording took him to unending levels. I worked for a computer company at the time, and one day I noticed that he and Pia both had accounts. I was a good employee and never told anyone :) But it was awesome knowing that they were ordering from us and using Macs.
Vai has returned to form with this
What did i say when i met you in Sydney w Joe n Steve L at G3? "I love your work, bought Flexable when it came out, am ashamed to say that is all i have. Need to fill that gap."
This, is that. Thankyou MrV. 🙏😍🎸
This album is really growing on me now- it needed a few listens when I bought it- and then a break from listening to now coming back and loving it- there is so much happening in each song- so many layers, instrumentation- Steve is at another level- not just as an incredible guitarist but also as a composer/songwriter.
Steve, I was very privileged to see you at your masterclass in Edmonton. Your words opened my eyes to not only guitar but how to feel and create music on a personal level. Thank you!
Soooooooo stoked for this record!!!
Steve : why do I have to make such hard part?
Me: you have to, cause you are the only person who can make music which will take me into the level of subconscious and piece.
Flex-able changed my life in 1984. Wore that cassette out. Wish I had this again. Thanks Mr. Vai!
His passion just blows me away
Steve is such a cool guy. He seems like one of those people you can meet for the first time and talk to like you've known them forever.
Steve Vai... suuuper geeenius!
That Mighty Messengers riff is sooooo delicious......
Djent bands: got 8 strings?
Steve Vai: hold my harp
I wish i could meet this guy. He is awesome !
The new board looks very comfortable. Wow Steve! You are at the top of your game. 😊
Thumbs up for the Dime wah! Best wah ever!

Simply......sick....
Thanks Steve for being so open to letting us into your inner sanctom of creativity and regular life always a pleasure and i'm so glad I got to meet you face to face at the Commodore ballroom in vancouver british columbia back in 2007.

So good, artistic, and expressive! Wonderful music! Been a big fan eversince i first heard passion and warfare a long time ago, brings back memories, kudos!
1:33 That is NOT Steve Vai! That's Jack Butler! 🤘🙂🤘😉🤘
Hi steve.i fron myanmar.i love ur playing guitar.u r t bestplayer like ghost.i learn ur lesson on u tube.it is nice.
Oh my good. All that gear and guitars
That song "And we are one" sounds really really nice! It has a soft ballad vibe like that of Eric Johnson's "Forty Mile Town" and the like. I'm looking forward to Steve's new record.
the 2 versions that he's put out might be my favorite things that he's done
how cool a surprise to look forward to, Steve!
Can't wait for "Upanishads"; a track I 1st heard in 1991 from a bootleg if Vai live in San Diego in 1985 that ended up being a semitone flat, due to no standardized cassette speeds. I felt so blessed to hear it I sent him Canadian $5 dollar bill in the mail once I owned a copy, in 2000 just because of my favourite unheard Vai song on it that I didn't even know was called "Upanishads"
Vai is love...
no thats Trump..vai is legend
Fantastici questi album pieni di scarti di altri album....
At about the 4:39 mark... one of my favorite Steve Vai guitars- makes a fast/guest appearance! The ''GREEN MEANIE" Charvel ;)
Genuinely looking forward to this. All my good parts are tingling :)
Can't wait Steve!!!
Awesome! Great to see Stu Hamm in there, too!
Absolutely love it had to add you ...
Love all your compositions!
now this is just cool the whole concept of this... super inspirational.
So zappa sounding. Awesome!
This is.... great music and out of the earth great playing. Wow.
Such an incredible studio
legend
Steve, I just want to say this in hope you see it (or at least someone transfers it to you).
I'm a 35yold dentist.I've worked pretty hard to become one.
I'd be more than thrilled to become a full time janitor for the Harmony Hut.I can sleep in the lawn mower shed.I wont touch the guitars, I swear.I'll just ask that I'm allowed to stand in a corner while you are in there, doing whatever you do !!!
A brilliant man!!
I need more videos like this
Mighty messengers, a very underrated track of his.
Such a difference 25 years has made in this life. Steve says the word "I" so many friggin' times throughout the video, my favorite being... "Why did I have to make such hard parts." Get over yourself, Steve! Such a complicated amp & pedal-laden gent, that enjoys talking about himself. A huge amount of TECHNICAL talent, yet does not strike me as part of the music. Appears the other way around. So much more respect for Hendrix & Rhoads today. Bless their fantastic, graceful souls.
I've always thought of Vai's music as "otherworldly", like music that would come from some distant galaxy.
I always think the same. It's like alien music
ThankYouSoMuchSteve
Stuart was playing with Vai ... great synchronization. ...
A diferença do Steve Vai fica explicada em uma palavra : Genialidade
DLR Skyscraper was one of the first cassettes I ever bought with my lawn mowing money. Been a Vai fan since.
Listening to this for the first time today... best Vai record in a long time, imo. I like the production on it a lot. I wish the last few albums had this production quality. They were close, but it sounds like this one finally got the production perfect. I wish I could afford a damn Ibanez. I played a Jem Jr. a few months ago and was surprised how tight it felt compared to all the guitars I've played, so I can only imagine what a real Jem feels like. :( I'm old enough now that I know I will never have one. Lifetime of growing up and growing old in a shitty economy in an expensive city. If I ever get an extra couple grand, it will go to student loans or other debt.
I would love for Steve to release some of those videos of him.
Steve i love youuuuuuuu
Oh wow, I can't wait
Steve has the most amazing technical skills..... i just noticed tho that his picking hand is arched really weirdly and seems to give him a smoother ride across the strings with a pick
ever seen Marty Friedman's picking hand? lol
Can't wait to c u guitar god.... performing live..... in Shillong....
absolute genious
Amazing!! Steve, you're the best, no more!! I'm so excited to listen this masterpiece!!
Greetins from Brazil!
Wow I can't wait for this record! Look at the album art, how cool and so Vai-like :)
Che roba é questa.... Fantascienza? 😨😰😱😵😷😭 sei leggenda 😉👍👌👏👏👏
Good god Steve!!!
Incredible track!
Insanely talented! AMAZING Guitarist
Going to get this album today!
That studio makes me speechless
