As an almost 60-year old person, I am continually on a quest to find myself validated through similar life experiences of others, of which in this case, I recognized a kinship with Mr. Shebib in that I too am of the TV generation, and like him, have not often read a great deal with the exception of history and some other eclectic topics which passed my fancy. With the world as it is, people who watch television or movies have too often been guilted into feeling those mediums are somehow second-class and not worthy of the same respect as persons who read voraciously, and it is in this respect Don Shebib has so eloquently dispelled those notions to give those like myself a needed break from the snobbery of narrow-minded persons locked in their own bubbles.

It's funny how mentions It's a Wonderful Life as a 'little known film". The film was, indeed, an unknown flop until the1980s.
Also, although I've always found Pierre Burton to have a certain smugness about him, I'd say that he mostly kept it in check during this interview, and Shebib held his own.
    Thank-you for posting this.

Did anyone else find Pierre Burton as condescending, smug and arrogant as I did in this interview? The bowtie is totally appropriate & reminds me of Tucker Carlson. I’m not even kidding. What a snob. Celebrated Canadian yes. Kind hearted, warm, and still intelligent person, no. Rest in peace regardless, Pierre Burton.
