I owned the True Line Train Gold Series Go Transit MP40ph-3C locomotive in Ho Scale. It was the original colour scheme of go. Me being an idiot sold it years ago and I regret it to this day.
Brian Arnold it happens to the best of us. At one point I ended up selling this custom model as well. With trueline trains not putting out models it almost makes them collectables at this point. A buddy of mine bought one for like $400.... it was only dc... nuts right? Thanks for watching!
Looks awesome man. Hopefully you can figure out what keeps derailing the cars. I find it pretty easy to figure out if I can get a close up view. The loco looks great. Keep up the good work.
Daveh88 after thinking about this really hard the only thing i can come up with is the bridge over by the buildings. there are no ties holding the rails down and the rails are not glued to the bridge. so I think it de-rails before it gets to the switch....
Nice paint job. Need a little touch around the windows. I hate when paint bleeds through. Do you have a wheel gauge? They maybe out of gauge. I found a small piece of ballast in the switch that caused the wheel lift so slightly that caused derailment. Great to see you picked up a few cars that you wanted. Passenger trains are so much more touchy than freight stock. I still need to pick a couple more of those Walthers loco's. For being so inexpensive they run so great. Scott
Scott Downey i agree... the worst part was that i couldnt remove the windshield... would have helped. I still need to pick up a gauge. seems like a mandatory tool... just have not got around to it. im telling ya though.. ConCore make some good passenger cars. just won a bid on ebay for a silver via 85' sleeper coach that is out of production. super rare and rolls like a knife through hot butter.(smoooooooooooth) Yes I must get the new Via DCC/sound F40 from Walthers! -Kris
Yeah, everything is always going to need touch ups whenever custom done. The MPI MPXpress locos are really nice. I have 2 myself. A Metra MP36 which I installed sound in back in January, and a Rail Runner MP36 which is just standard DC. As far as the Metra one, I'm considering sometime having a custom one done through 3D-Printing. The one I have is #414 and the one I'm considering as a custom project would be #407.
You might want to replace that one switch. Those cheaper life like / atlas switches usually have point issues. The uncoupling issue yes is to hight for longer cars. Try and smoothen that out
tavis mckenzie yes for sure. This is a bit of an older video of mine. I have made a bunch of improvements since. I now use peco code 83. Layout is much bigger as well.
Those cars if the derail alot loosen the truck mounting screws off a bit so trucks can pivot side to side better. I had to loosen every car i own and they work better. Athearn puts them on to tight
Dont give up yet. I can help you ok ? I have a layout too in my house and I will post videos on it. I also have the Go transit locomotive You can buy my Go train locomotive from me for about 195 $ or maby 300 but for you 195 $.Maby your GO train cars are derailing because your wheels on one of your car is not put in properly because the same thing happend to me with my GO train cars. And that was the problem. So you can try it, Im not telling you that it will work for shure but it might so just try that. Also i loved your videos and i subscribed for your channel.
Did you see the 199.99 DC Rapido Via Rail F40 at Credit Valley? I only got a GO athearn F59PHI and the matching GO coaches. Is that an Alco S2 switcher? Credit Valley has the GO coaches but cannot sell them because no GO locomotives in stock to sell with them. I got the 30 Year GO car. great video Kris
Trains Big and Small I did... i have like 6-7 of the walthers f40's and a DCC one just came out that I will pick up for sure. Ya i also have the Athearn F59 as well. added tsunami to it.. I have all the ones they have. have double of some so I did 2 BELL Canada cars, BMO and More Go car with different road numbers to change it up a bit. That 30 years of go is worth a bunch. if you have the set thats even better but that is the "first eddition" i guess you can say. so hang on to it. not sure what the switcher is... the box it Atlas but was told it has Kato drive to it. so smooth. -Kris
Go/Via/orgohome Wow you really like the F40s I just saw the new Walthers Via Rail 6400 at the store. The 30th Years of GO coach is in my 3 car set. Danny
They are impossible to find and when you do the seller wants an arm and a leg for it. I have a friend that had 2. So I got him to part with it. The one in this video was actually a Northstar rail one. I repainted it to Go myself. But I have an original Go Transit one as well.
When I bought this it was in a different paint scheme. I had to strip the paint and then paint it into this scheme. I was able to find some decals as well.
+northlanderdude well I already had another Via with that rd number. For DCC purposes I wanted to make sure that I had no doubles. I know its not proto... but im ok with it.
Awe man, I loved the switch work on this layout. Even though you had so many issues I always thought it looked awesome. The good old days. lol
When I came over to your house to meet you and you brought me into your garage. lol
Bro! I love your voice! It’s so deep and soothing
Lmao
Very cool locomotive
New Sub from Sparky107107: That is a very nice set! - Jason

I love the Rail runner. it looks so clean. If i was to get a set outside of what i already model.... it would be that.
I would think the same goes for me too!
A old classic video
Nice

Where did you find that? I'm trying to find one for @Scott Rails but I haven't had any luck

How did you make this go transit ho scale locomotive MP40PH engine
When I bought this it was in a different paint scheme. I had to strip the paint and then paint it into this scheme. I was able to find some decals as well.
Hey, are you a fan of Union Pacific?
Eastern Oklahoma Model Railroad Society I enjoy all railroads but I mostly collect and operate Canadian road names.
@@GoViaorgohome Oh Ok! I just had a UP SD40T-2 that I was giving away
Eastern Oklahoma Model Railroad Society why are you getting rid of it?
why is that VIA F40 Diet Pepsi unit numbered 6040 instead of 6400 ?
+northlanderdude well I already had another Via with that rd number. For DCC purposes I wanted to make sure that I had no doubles. I know its not proto... but im ok with it.
+Go/Via/orgohome ah okay. cool
Life in Toronto sucks if you live in Toronto.
GO Transit Fan I grew up in Brampton. I know what you mean. There are nice areas..
One day I’ll be out of Toronto.
