He has qualities, that Norris doesn't have. Norris breaks under preasure, when Piastri stays ice cold. He's like Verstappen, just more likeable and has nice, dry humor sense (and less complaining) :D
Piastri is showing championship level qualities, I will be watching carefully what McLaren does in the remaining 5 races. It became evident to me, in Austin, Piastri was told just to hold, I thought he should fight for a podium since Norris completely blew it. They played it safe, I understand that, but the spectre of embarrassing Norris is too much for some people, so I believe that came into it too, Norris is the darling. Anyway, I'm glad he did not get stuck at Alpine, so even if McLaren favors Norris, Piastri is getting top level experience.
I agree that Piastri was playing a role in Austin to help Norris. Not sure Norris is a darling, or treated anything special. Rather he has the best opportunity to take the WC from Max - Oscar does not. So Oscar as the team player is helping Lando and the team win the Championships. I am looking forward to 2025 and seeing how Oscar goes. With car development aside, Oscar may very well 2025 champion.
