HEY HEY! Another viewer requested video on the BOB books and what my take is on them. What do you all think?
Nice video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (google it)? It is a good one of a kind guide for teaching children to read minus the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my GF at very last got great success with it.
My goal this summer is to get my son reading better before he starts 1st grade. We actually started these Bob books last week and have been reading them everyday! Haven’t missed a day and I already see improvement! Thanks for these fun activities!
No way, that's so cool to hear!!! The kids feel so accomplished when they can read them too.
This is what I use, my daughter is 3 and she is already reading.. We started like you said with phonics way before... my daughter looooves it..
That's great!
Best feeling ... my daughter learned her phonics at 2 ... but she didn’t seem interested in reading , than I realized she was still only 2 . Sure enough now she’s 3 and is reading and writing.!
I bought a roll of magnetic tape. Printed out each word, attached it to the self-sticking magnet tape, cut it apart. Then she uses these to match the sentences in the books.
I’m starting bob books and this video was super valuable. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Just picked up the collection 1 for my soon to be kindergartener. I was a little hesitant but I'm glad I went with it. Thank you for this video! It gave me so many ideas how to use bob books, since homeschooling can be a challene within itself. I love all of your content! ❤
It’s like u listen to my heart😍😍 much needed video🥰 thank u so much🤗🤗
Woohoo! I'm so glad!
Wonderful! Will remember these for my two year old grandson.
yay, so glad to hear!
Great video 😃👍. I always wanted to buy these for my son but wasn't able to. He did learn to read by sounding out the letters in alphabet instead of saying the letter. This method also help him learn to spell as well. I will look into the printables since these are great for him to refreshing his skills before going to kindergarten this fall.
Oh that's a great idea! There are so many printable too!
I love the Bob Books! ☺️
They are a great tool!
@@ThePurpleAlphabet They really are!! Well, worth purchasing. ☺️
I have all the small boxes and collection six from when I was younger. Great video, lol.
Thank you i love your videos, they are really helpful!
Thank you so much!
Hey! When a child reads phonetically they can definitely write ☺️ Montessori teaches writing before reading ☺️
Love these!
Just found you! Following along! I"m a 3rd grade teacher who tutors struggling readers on the side.
So glad you are here!!

Awesome, so glad to hear that you like it and it hit the spot!
Hey hey Christina. Thanks for a great video. Bob books are great. I bought ours at Costco also. I didn't think to check Pinterest for Bob printables. Thanks for the suggestion. When we work on specific letter sounds, I use Patty Shukla videos and the kids love them. Take care.
Oh yes! Pinterest is exploding with printables!! Thanks for the letter sound recommendation - love it!
Target also has correlating bob workbooks. On the back of the workbook it shows what bob books you need for the workbook.
Thanks for great vedio love all the activities ideas love it 😍😍😍😍
Oh thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the video .
We homeschool and these are the first things our kids start reading :)
They are a good one!
I've heard so many people say their kids learned to read with Bob Books but I was unsure how. Thanks so much for this! Do you have a certain amount of time each day for this or does it depend on how look it takes the child to use the magnets for the words on the pages? Thanks Again!
Thanks so much for this detailed review!
Thanks for doing this. Seen these In the book order but unfamiliar
They are good ones!
I’m new to this channel and LOOOOVEEEE your videos!!!

I tried Teach your child in 100 easy lessons and my five year old, then four hated it. She is now learning with the bob books and loves learning to read.
I started 100 lessons with my 3 year old and Its not working. Yes he's young but not too young too learn. I'm gonna try use the idea of those lessons and teach it in more visual way.
@@jenienh.7764 I know this is old. This is exactly where I'm coming from. Not liking 100 Easy Lessons. Going to try this method instead. How did this way work for you?
@@HSingMomto5Kids It took about 2 weeks with daily review and candies as motivator to learn M S T A. But when we tried reading the "MAT" bob book he just wasn't getting it. So we took a break. And just focusing on learning phonetic letters. He is just about 3.5.
At what age would you start these? My child will be 3 in a month.
Hello, thank you, very helpful!
We are doing ‘Mat’ book for past 6 months and no progress on blending. Feeling so depressed. Kiddo does recognize phonetic sounds.
It is only my child who is not reading in his class. We are starting KG in fall so feeling depressed and nervous about his progress.
Its okay, every child is different and learns at a different pace. I hope everything works out, I'll pray for you! Have a great day! :)
Some children take a little longer myself included. 😊 I didn't learn to read until I was 7 and I was self taught using hooked on phonics. If your child is similar to mine I would take a break from trying to read like maybe a couple months. Allow his brain to rest from it all and yourself from stressing about it. Then start again from the very beginning of letter sounds. You would be surprised at how taking a break allows their brains to mature a little process things and it might be much easier the next time you try again. He will read at some point. ❤️
Yes, please don't stress! Reading comes at different ages for different kids. It's like learning to walk... Some babies do it at 10 months, some babies do it at 15 months, and it doesn't mean any baby is smarter than another, and in they end, they all learn to walk! It's the same with reading, and learning to read "later" doesn't mean your child isn't smart or won't do well in school. Definitely don't push him and just relax.
It is difficult to accept that my kid is 5 and not reading. May be we need video on how to handle peer pressure.
YOU GUYS! I Seriously love you all for being supportive and helpful to each other, this is amazing. Thank you so much! I really appreciate you all. mausamivasha - I agree with everyone that each child is different. You are doing all the right things. Keep up the repetition and showing by example. Blending is soooo hard to grasp, but when they do, it will be great. Do it with your child and make it fun! I also think breaks are great too.
Thank you
Very informative.....
Awesome!

Great, thank you!
Hi, I'm working with a 2yr old. He turned 2 in January. He knows the phonics and is able to identify/sing the alphabet. His writing skills are not there yet. So do you suggest just sticking with the magnetic alphabets and board for now? The worksheets from pinterest look great. I would definitely have to help him write the words out.
That's great that he is doing so well in phonics. I'd stick with what he can do and slowly work your way to harder things.
@@ThePurpleAlphabet thank you, appreciate your insight.
Does child should know vowel and consonants blending before starting bob books?? Please do reply
Hello. I would like to get the larger books. Do you have any idea on the size? The ones on Amazon are 5.6x5.7.
Thank you for this video I want to order the bob books
My autistic 3 yr son likes bob books , we have just discovered highlight baby he likes the pic
Yay!
Hi Christina, thx for this bob books suggestions. My KG kid is already doing last 5th set of long vowels. Is there any video on which books to follow after finish all 5 sets of bob books?
I would move on to the leveled readers. There are sooo many, I'd start with pre level 1 and work up from there.
This is my first time hearing about BOB books. I did go straight to amazon after this video to check them out. There are so many choices. Thr ones you showed plus sight words kindergarten etc. Which one should you get if you are just starting? We currently do a read aloud twice a day sometimes more. He does not recognize words yet but will recognize some letters some of the time.
There are a lot of choices, they are all great. I started with collection one, but I think there is one you can do before that too.
I have been thinking about getting this book set and now I definitely will! I just bought some sight word flash cards for my son and was wondering if it's better to start teaching the sight words before starting on these books..or does it matter?
Good question. I think they can work hand in hand. For example, pull out the sight words that are in the book and just add on as you read them. Otherwise, I don't think it matters too much, but it is helpful to know some sight words ahead of time.
Hi , great video. How many books per week would you recommend? I didn't have the parent guide in my versatile version.
I'd follow the child.... and go at their pace.
Hey! Love this. Do you know of a bobs books spanish equivalent? My 5yr old daughter is in a language immersion school and trying to prevent summer brain!
You know what, I'm not sure!! That is a great idea though. Love that your daughter is in immersion school, that is so cool!
How do you suggest best learning the phonics prior to using the Bob books?
Hi
Hello!
Any tips on the HOW of teaching blending? We are just starting with the first book. She can sound out each sound, but does not get the blending to a word. Example: " Mmmm aaa tttt hemisphere" Yes, that is exactly what she said last night.
This is tough, but it's practice. Keep on demonstrating and working with it. Once she keeps hearing it and mimicking you over and over it will all of the sudden happen. That's what happened to us. One kid got it super fast and the other took a bit longer and then one day, she just did it. But it took a lot of repetition and us demonstrating with her before that happened.
Do u have a link to the magnetic letter holder? Thanks
Yes, here is an affiliate link for it at Walmart - linksynergy.walmart.com/fs-bin/click?id=pyO9y0gtyYA&type=10&tmpid=1081&offerid=223073.7442&RD_PARM1=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.walmart.com%252Fip%252FDarice-No-Spill-Plastic-Organizer-32-Compartments%252F22027056%253Faffs%253De
Love this, I will be getting set 1 for my son. Thanks for flipping through that first book so I could see what these are about, they will be perfect 👌🏻
RaisingHalo brought me here!
No way! That's so cool.. she did a collab with me a while ago!
Is there 4 and 5 collections available?
I'm not sure, I think so! I feel like I've seen those.
