i like the exhaust note on the 488 spider (i should know i have one) its nice and quite while your in town and traffic not pissing off passers buy and opens up when your having fun and quietning down when on the motorway cruising, at least you can have a conversation while on the motorway. I hate the lambos and amg mercs to many youtubers have overdone them with stupid pops and bangs they have have made them the youtubers and people with no class supercar its a big shame. Ferrari has so much class and pedagree and it shows in the way they have designed the exhaust note its there but not in your face .Its an all aout supercar not a show offs car.

Sounds really good, not sure what is the big deal. I had 570S, NC1 NSX, 2 GTRs, and LP550-2 gated Manual before, they don't sound anywhere near as good as 488. As for valve, disconnect the valves. It is not even hard, drop the diffuser, unplug and plug in a bolt or golf tee.
Exhaust expert = should base his opinion on the amount of pops made and didn't know that his Lamborghinis exhaust is stock 😂.

I have to disagree with you, I’ve just driven the 488 through Europe and toms of tunnels, all the other cars in the run mainly Porsche’s and Audi’s all voted the 488 the best sounding car, granted it’s not git the grunt of a naturally aspirated car but all engines will be relying on synthetic noise in the future. Those roads do look good and I’m sure you enjoyed the dynamics of the car.
i dont mind the sound of the 488 and the portofino , i actually think that they sound better than the most mclarens beside the 570 with sport exhaust . The fact of the matter is that ferrari has spoilled us with the outher n/a engines + now everyone wants fake sounds and pops
Would take the sound of a 488GTB over a 458 ANY day of the week. The sound of a car these days seems to be rated on volume and by the number of fake ass pops and bangs it makes. The 488 isn't one of the best sounding cars in the world, and it does have some of the silly pops and bangs, but I like to be able to hear the mix of turbo, V8, intake, and exhaust etc. Just a loud exhaust, does not cut it.

I partially agree with the whole "its less than a 458" thing, but you have to face reality. It's not like it's Ferrari's choice to make turbo engines. I think it sounds very refined, and it's a masterpiece of engineering. It won engine of the year 2 years in a row.
488 is a different car in flesh. Trust me you 12 year olds that are talkin shit about the way this sounds this car sounds amazing in person.
I've heard the 458 vs 488 sounds in person and I have to agree the 488 sounds are a miss.

I think focusing on just the exhaust component is totally missing the point. Put the same exhaust on 10 different cars and you'll end up with 10 totally different sounds, even just adding an air filter can make a huge difference to the exhaust note. Looking at just an exhaust in isolation is totally missing the design of a drivetrain.

To many exhaust videos even when its not your expert series you still talk about exhausts constantly. More driving. Also good exhausts have a nice tone. Not just loudness and fake pops
In my opinion Ferrari missed their mark on the 488, it doesnt look as nice as the 458, it doesn't sound that good at all and it just doesn't make me as excited to see one! Like you said there are so many more better sounding Twin Turbo engines! I really hope with the Pista it is a rawer sound and evens out how good it looks 😊

Random Hero Spotting I think looks are very opinionated, and the performance is far far better than the 458.. Chris Harris said it has the best turbo engine on the market also, and this is backed up by it winning engine of the year 3x in a row

Turbo charged engines just don't sound anywhere near as good as naturally aspirated engines. The best of the turbo bunch is the 675LT that does pop and bang on both up and downshifts. The 488 sounds awful and no where near as good as the McLarens

Sorry Paul I have to disagree w you. The 488 does sound like a typical Ferrari in the sense that you still can hear that high pitch. On the other hand I agree w you that when u first start it the valves open and it sounds Awesome, but then on the higher revs it sounds terrible🙄.
Enjoy the sound now. The future of all supercars is complete silence. Albeit road noise and the whir of the electic motor(s).

720S is probably worse, but the 488 is bad when it comes to sound. That's why I much prefer naturally aspirated cars.
