Y'know, warlock powers are basically just magic NFTs, you make a pact with someone either richer or more powerful than you, you're allowed to use its power as if it's your own but it's really not, and it can be taken away for any reason. There's also probably dozens of other poor fools that got suckered by that devil, some trying to sell off their power to someone else for a tiny profit. I'm definitely making this a homebrew
The only wrong thing here is that Warlocks can't have their powers taken in RAW. It's like the patron fills the Warlock with a piece of him which can't be taken. However, the patron can stop giving new powers and weaken him (A.K.A lose Subclass features).
Awaken, bless, guidance, bestow curse, (quick, repeated, cheap casting) soul jar, phylactery, (soul harvest) control weather, wish, (large range area of effect) message, telepathy feat/ability/spell, and dream. If you want a character to be or play God, these are how a deity interacts with humans. Other info can be found at DND pantheon resources, examples, and databases. Most notably forgotten realms is where you would look and 3e is another. Check 5e update on pantheons though.
Funnily enough, clerics would also easily fill this role, with their gods being able to take away their powers (if the setting uses gods). >:) It also works well with the "Oh, yeah, I'm better than that other guy" kind of mentality, as warlocks with their few spell slots tend to require more thought while clerics are, well, clerics.
With warlocks addressed here and clerics in the comments, does that mean we should consider bards and wizards as being comparable to real artists? Both actually have to study to gain magic power, though through different means. Also, would that make sorcerers the rich kids since they inherited power through lineage?

If I had to make a choice right now, though, knowing nothing at all about the characters or setting? "The true frog was inside you all along.", "Believe in the frog who believes in you.", and other such ways to say that the powers came from the Warlock themself, with the completely normal frog acting as a conduit.

The blockchain itself isn’t, much worse than normal transactions (still WORSE, because the exact same steps are being repeated on hundreds of separate machines) but Proof of Work-a fundamental part of Bitcoin and current part of probably half of the others-is ABSOLUTELY environmentally unfriendly, as it requires exponentially more computational work for each step newly minted block. And given how valuable they currently are, they make building massive server farms doing nothing but brute-forcing a reverse hash function pointlessly fiscally viable. Crypto can potentially move past proof of work systems, but as it stands they are a large contributor to both the chip shortages and using most of the energy we’ve been gaining from new renewables construction, meaning fossil fuel plants need to stay active longer. It isn’t the only thing, but it isn’t nothing either.
@@IONATVS Some cryptos already have moved to proof-of-stake, the only issue is that theoretically if you own enough crypto *to* stake, you have significantly more influence of the currency than anyone else, leading to it being more centralised... But afaik there's not really any way of manipulating via large stake anyway that doesn't involve devaluing the coin, which you wouldn't want to do since you own so much of it.

One of the players in my campaign is a genie warlock whose patron is based on the Aladdin genie. Very funny how in game all the NPCs were talking about how powerful [the genie] was, and we the players knew that the genie, once revealed, was gonna be hilarious

I just had a Warlock Idea, A Patron that asks for money to get more stuff, the new invocation or spells, you want extra items, they ask you for an exorbitant money and you roll a d100, to see the quality or rarity of what you get. It's not gambling, it's "Surprise Mechanics"

In the digital space, they are produced by a long chain of calculations and verifications and that keep track of the token's place in the queue and how many tokens there are. This is the Block-chain. Which would _theoretically_ be good for crypto-currency. In practice, less so. The images assigned and associated with NFT's are not the NFT, but something to make each token (which is just a number) more distinct from each other for our monkey brains. When you buy the NFT, you aren't buying the image or the intellectual property rights of the image, but the position in the queue)The only real value to an NFT is the position, and in crypto-currency, the position should be of equal value. NFT's could be such a useful tool in coding, but currently they are being used by scammers against rich people who imagine themselves to be the next multi-billionaire, but just do not understand the economics and have turned crypto-currency into a speculative market where artificially hyper-deflated crypto-currencies are sent "to the moon", which completely ruins the value of crypto-currency for use as an actual functional currency. All done in the hopes that the value will keep rising and they can sell to some other sucker right before the value tanks. It is simultaneously heartwarming and tearjerking. On one hand, the thought of all those rich idiots being scammed just makes me so damned happy. On the other hand, all the wasted capital that could've gone to improving so many lives is instead caught up in an knot of human greed.

The images assigned and associated with NFT's are not the NFT, but something to make each token (which is just a number) more distinct from each other for our monkey brains. When you buy the NFT, you aren't buying the image or the intellectual property rights of the image, but the position in the queue)The only real value to an NFT is the position, and in crypto-currency, the position should be of equal value. NFT's could be such a useful tool in coding, but currently they are being used by scammers against rich people who imagine themselves to be the next multi-billionaire, but just do not understand the economics and have turned crypto-currency into a speculative market where artificially hyper-deflated crypto-currencies are sent "to the moon", which completely ruins the value of crypto-currency for use as an actual functional currency. All done in the hopes that the value will keep rising and they can sell to some other sucker right before the value tanks.
It is simultaneously heartwarming and tearjerking. On one hand, the thought of all those rich idiots being scammed just makes me so damned happy. On the other hand, all the wasted capital that could've gone to improving so many lives is instead caught up in an knot of human greed.

Why do I get the feeling that this is backwards? Like.... all Warlocks are actually their patrons NFT's spread across the world, with slight alterations to make the unique but only SLIGHTLY so.
I'm entirely ok with the concept of a lord of the crypto. Imagine having to convince others the worth of the crypto or nft as like spreading worship of the eldrich being. The more you convert the more it grows in power, so you gain more power from them.
