I just realized how amazing of a level background a 3d-rendered version of this would be for a Bullet-Hell game; where the piano was is lava or something and this giant structure being consumed by it IS the level soundtrack. It would take a few hundred years to model, but it would be SO worth it!

I think the reason it sounds that way is that the creator used the piano to create every sound in this song (including the percussion, which is supposed to be a thumping noise but it's just some deep notes hit at the same time I think) so yeah.

So I just stumbled across black midi by browsing through RUclips and have been looking for hours and I have to say. Of everything I've seen your original compositions are the most gorgeous to look at and easy to listen to black midi I've found. And in my mind that makes you the best!
Okay, I figured it out. Theoretically, if you were to record yourself playing a single key from this song, then record you playing the next key, and do this until you have recorded yourself playing all 3.1415 million notes, and then compile these recordings together into one sound file, this song will have technically been played by one person. Edit: Now all we need is someone willing to do all that crap.
I think it is possible! Cuz it would take less than one second to hit each key, but compiling and editing it all would take like several months of straight work.
Is there any way to hear these songs before they've been... blacked? I absolutely adore the song, and would gladly pay money for it, but the parts where it sounds like a thousand screaming pianos make it hard to listen to on the bus ride home.
***** Just in case you didn't know, PianoFromAbove isn't a midi editor. It's just used to play midi files. Flstudio and Anvil studio can be used to create midi files. Flstudio is MUCH less buggy and even has a better layout than Anvil Studio.
***** Oh I know that, I just assumed Octuplex was going to use Synthesia to remove the art and spammed notes, which would take a long, long while. Anyways, I use Mixcraft6 where you can go up to 1000th of a whole note.
I just found out about this genre. I was pleasantly surprised that my computer didn't explode when I watched this. Although, seriously, out of the few Black Midis I've heard, this is one of the best.

Every single individual note is audible. It could be one of these things: 1. They blend in to each other 2. Some notes drown out others 3. Your brain can't process the amout of sound 4. Your computer can't process the amount of sound
How to make black MIDI: 1) Start with regular MIDI song. 2) Load up the song in your tablet. 3) Have a five year old scratch at it in mspaint with the biggest brush. 4) Turn each pixel into a note. 5) Upload to youtube. Seriously though, this is good.

Gingeas takes great use of tags and a great video title to grab attention lol. His video wasn't in 16:9 resolution so i'd vouch to say my quality was better. But it doesn't bother me that he got more views than i did. Everybody who saw his video knows that i was the one who made Pi and that's what I value the most.
