I started following you because you have a real body. Now I stay because I really enjoy your videos. I am 60 years old and just started to have the confidence to dress the way I feel comfortable. I rebuilt my wardrobe to have a capsule. So freeing. Keep up the good work!
A warm hello and thanks from Algeria. Just came across your channel ❤. You're a natural beauty and so nice to watch. You're not selling anything or trying to make money.....Love your honesty. You're the only one I watch with normal ▶️ speed till the end. Great tips. I'm a 71 year old who has shrunk down to 1.56, rounder in the mid section. You're reminding me of a lot of the tips and tricks I've learned over the years + showing me new ones I'm going to try. Wishing you lots of success for your channel.
Thanks Trish. Great video, again…love watching your videos. I’m a fellow shortie at 5 feet nothing and I’m 60. I love that you have managed to develop the understanding of the need to accept yourself as you are. It really is one of the hardest things for us to learn and our ability to do it seems to develop with age. I’m much happier in my own skin now (wrinkles included, I think!) than I was at 20 or 30.
At only 5ft tall I know the 1/3-2/3 proportion rule works wonders. Honestly I don’t always follow it but when I make the effort I’m pleased with how I look .
Thank you, Trish! One of the big reasons to follow you its exactly because all the tips and advice that you share with your audience. How to feel good, how to use clothes to our advantage , how to use a few places and love what you have. My favorite tip was your last one!
I enjoyed the video. Thank you for making it. As to doing your best (you used a different phrase) I agree that people should work to do their best, however, sometimes that looks very different from one person to another. I'm disabled - not wheelchair bound but somewhat physically compromised. Here in Canada, could be all of N. America, we use the term 'spoons'. As in, "I only have 8 spoons today" or " showering is going to be a 4 spoon endeavour". Not sure why this is used ... maybe it's code - lol - I'm not sure. But as a disabled person I know that I have a lot less spoons than a non-disabled person or even that I had when I wasn't disabled. I think it's important to remember when talking to others that not everyone has the same number of spoons to start a day off with. Looking forward to your next video.
Hi Deborah, thanks for your comment. Yes exactly-‘an honest effort’ is how I expressed it, meaning that we can only answer to ourselves. Everyone is different and even the same person differs from day to day, so the idea is to do ones best based on how much energy/capability is truly available. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 🌷
Great video Trish! 👏 I have a short body and longer legs. Although we have opposite body types, I still find value in your content as it reminds me to pay attention to what suits your body type instead of all the noise of trends!
Me too…. I just found your videos and love how you style your longer torso/shorter leg body. Do you know someone with longer legs and short torso that you could show styling tips on? I love how you style in a more realistic but nice looking way. Lots of others are just too over the top styled and not realistic for everyday. You look very nice but still “hip” and proportioned. Nice job!❤
My daughter is 6 feet tall and very slender so she wears a size "Zero extra tall". It is so difficult for her to find anything to fit her, which shows how rare that body type is, even though it's the one we are supposed to try for. She has to sew most of her clothes, or buy menswear.
Excellent and thoughtful tips. Quite eye opening. Love your style and your channel (which I just found....YAY). Would love to see more tips on clothing mixes/styles for different body proportions. The ''it's not you, it's the clothes...'' tip is brilliant too. I've always felt like something is wrong with me and my body but it really is ''the clothes'' that aren't right and this change in realization is what I needed. Thank you (new sub here : )
Congratulation for your videos! Who cares about tall and skinny😂 You are so sweet being who you are! And l’m following you because l like first your attitude, then the outfits you put on…😊 You have my admiration!❤
I'm not sure if I am lucky or unlucky but I am roughly half and half... I'm 5ft 8 with long legs but I also have a good 2in under my hand so have a long torso. I'm not massively overweight but I'm chunky 😁 The half tuck thing....not for me, I wouldn't be able to leave the house, for me it's either tucked in or left out. Great video 🙂
Thanks for your comment 🌸 Absolutely-you do you, whether it’s a full tuck or whatever else. That’s the beauty of personal style-it’s so personal and unique to ourselves and so it’s a brilliant tool for expressing ourselves without copying anyone else. If I had long legs, I would definitely leave things out instead of tucking them in-it looks great. Thanks for watching!
Sorry I'm late leaving a comment but this was a brilliant video. It is important to talk about confidence as in an age of daily social media feeds and edited footage, it is so easy to feel like a failure or 'less than good enough'. Self acceptance is key and thank you for the valuable and appreciated reminder of this.
It’s so true-people (understandably) curate their social media feeds so sometimes I find myself comparing my ‘normal’ to someone else’s ‘highlights’ and that’s not a good way to go! Having inner confidence is so important and has improved my life a lot, which I why I wanted to share this. Thanks for watching Vera and for your thoughtful comment 🌸
This was great! One of the reasons I follow you is because you’re NOT the typical influencer. You’re “real”… and I love that! ❤
Aw thank you 💕
