- In today's video I'm sharing a new way to wear color in your outfits. It's the Tibi Color Wheel! Created by Amy Smilovic, the founder of Tibi and author of the Creative Pragmatist, the Tibi Color Wheel shows you how to add color to your wardrobe without things feeling too flat or basic, and how to combine colors in your outfit so it always feels dynamic, cool and effortless. This is not about what colors suit you the best or your color season - it's about HOW to wear color and HOW to combine the colors you want to wear without feeling boring, flat or average. This will make it so simple, allow you to achieve different vibes in your wardrobe, and it'll give you the tools to troubleshoot when your outfit doesn't feel right. Let me know if this helps you!
The Color Wheel is property of Tibi. Permission has been granted for use in this video.
The Color Wheel sticker comes with your order when you buy from Tibi. Amy is also launching a wheel for purchase soon, so stay tuned to her IG!

Hello friends! This is a re-upload of my original video that you all loved! Please enjoy and I would so appreciate a like and a share with your friends so the RUclips algorithm gods don’t bury the video! You’re the best! ❤xoxo
HOW TO GET A COLOR WHEEL: The Color Wheel sticker comes with your order when you buy from Tibi. Tibi will be launching an actual wheel for purchase soon - so stay turned to Tibi or Amy’s social - linked in the description! 🌈
🤓Hmm. This presentation on color is fascinating. It's a subject that doesn't come easily to me, but I have strong notions of what works & what doesn't for me. More of a matchy, matchy individual, but I am working on becoming more tonal monochromatic.
Maybe I need another pass or two at your video in order to fully comprehend your points, but I did replay the sections that confused me. I also took copious ✍️notes.
▪︎Are all the Rings unique to you? 😡Hate all the colors in Ring 3. Love dark brown as one of my neutral, but I overwhelmingly prefer it w/a cool, crisp, clear undertone tone.
Find Tibi mixing actual color w/a drop or so of brown as so vastly unappealing😬. Makes color look muddied, muddled, & dirty😖. In fact, it also gives off a distinctly warm undertone. 😔All things I tend to avoid w/a passion.
Love my dark neutrals, but I also adore a smattering of lights & brights too. My problem is not knowing how to wear these pieces in a cohesive & appealing way. That's mainly bcos overall I prefer a more continuous column of vertical color ↕️, but I also have no desire to buy MORE color at this junction.
👚🩳👛🥿Choppy color is my least favorite fashion option😂. I just want to make sense of what I already own, but haven't worn to date.
🤔Your examples of TWO got me a bit perplexed😳. What's bad? Two colors (gray+orange) or the fact there were two colored pieces in each of those specific colors? 😊Like many others, I liked the orange jumper & heels w/the 2 pc gray suit.
😮The other "Two" example, I read as Three (aka a Ton). Dark blue topper, light blue top, gray w/blue plaid trousers, and yellow clutch bag+shoes. Is that only considered yellow & blue? I didn't hate the look. Yellow aside, it simply struck me a monochromatic tonal blue look.
🧐 Now, if I wear my slightly slouchy silvery gray sweater vest & silvery gray slip-on sneakers w/my short fuschia pencil skirt is that considered One or Two Colors? How about if I add a medium gray zippered hoodie & gray leather tote to finish the look off? Could also wear a silvery gray & white Buffalo Check button up UNDER the gray sweater w/the hem popping out.
Thx for your feedback.

I am dying to get the color wheel sticker❤
Just take a picture of it and keep it in your photos
I snapped picture of the color wheel on the Tibi website ❤
I’be definitely been an all black girl for ages (or black and jean). A couple weeks ago I bought TWO beige shirts and felt like I changed my outlook on life 😂. I am terrified of white, so I figured I’d try out beige. Who knows what’s gonna happen from here. Might wear with some… NAVY this weekend. Watch out world 👀😂
Yessssss living life on the edge 😂 love it! Enjoy!!!!
Whites are wasier than colours! Colours can be hard ti maintain. With whites you can wash in oxyaction prodicts etc and theyre white bright fresh... black fades, and you can dye it black again but that's not ideal.
I usually go for an off white. Stark white is just awful for anything but bedsheets and dining cloths
I think you look like a Winter, a cooler toned raspberry red might look even better on you!
Came here to say the same thing because as soon as the video started you notice the sweater set before Christina, I would guess Dark Winter, but you never know with lighting and makeup.
Agree, she is lovely as is the color but I think it’s way too warm. A cooler red would be sooo much more flattering!
I came to write the same thing.
Yes i think a dark winter as well. Deep cool colours😊
So agree! Cool undertone colours look much more brightening and harmonious.
As a professional jewelry designer and instructor, I did not realize that color combinations come naturally and effortlessly to very few people. Presentations like this one fascinate me as a designer and are a tremendous tool for me as an instructor as I am not adept at communicating these concepts, as you are. I truly appreciate the time and resources you have obviously dedicated to this research, planning, filming and editing. May your generosity reward you. Sharing this as soon as I finish typing. Thank you.
I did the opposite, I tried going neutral like all influencers and realised I really don't like beige on me.
So, I went back to colour and I'm really happy again. Nice tips Christina xx
Thank you. very interesting. I tend to go for variations of a shade put together: teal/turquoise/jade or ochre/cinnamon/burgundy or emerald/bottle/forest etc. This is me, but I really enjoy looking at people wearing contrasts. There is colour, and there is what you feel good in.
I have tried to to work with the color wheel for at least six years, but always failed. Now I understand why thank you so much for the way you explained it and how to use it with the rings and the levels and how to combine them. you explained it brilliantly and I can’t wait to try it
I only exist in the outer wheel after spending about 25 years in only black. I now wear only what I love and found my style. Never got so many compliments from random strangers since I live outside my “i don’t want to stand out” black comfortzone. I have a very natural gift for combining colors and prints and I’m living my best life now. Only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. I only dared to be me when I needed a wheelchair and people always stared at me, so I could not hide anymore. People stare anyway so better make it fun, right? I’ll never be basic or “safe” fashion wise again.
This is my second time through the video and I learn something new each time! Thank you!
Having recently discovered that I have a cool and delicate, pale olive undertone, I have _finally_ found that all of the -ish colors are my jam! Bold colors are unfortunately not for me, and black has been demoted to an accent color, but it's actually made my life so much easier. I used to think I would be severely limited but it's been incredible to see how dynamic my wardrobe can be! Navy and dark green have replaced black, and taupe/mushroom, blush, burgundy and soft teal bring in a surprising amount of color while still being subtle 😊
It sounds like we have the exact same skin tone and I have also recently discovered that the -ish colours work best for me! It was such a long journey of trying to fit myself into a colour season, but I learned to just look for colours I call "muddy" (vs. clear) to complement the olive tone. It is nearly impossible to find tips/info for my skin tone, so reading made me feel seen!
@@micaelakirwin8785 yes exactly! all colors muddy, lol! Aww I completely know what you mean; we really seem to be quite a rare bunch 😉🦄
So easy to follow, thank you for this. It's the best video about styling I've ever watched. I have a natural tendency to combine ring 2 and 3 colours ; none/one colour scheme and icky/patterns accessories but never knew why. Now that I know that it's a guideline I can be more intentional and experimental.
I had my colors done back in the day which helped me choose clothes. Although I have been using monotone dressing at times after watching RUclips videos in fashion.
Such a great overview of Tibi's colour wheel (which I also have on the back of my phone)! I went through the exact same phase of eliminating colour when I was trying to find my style, listening to the advice that neutrals are easy to pair together and having a specific colour palette in your closet makes it easier to get dressed. May be true, but it literally sucked the fun and creativity out of getting dressed, and I never felt like myself. Glad you're incorporating colour again, you look fantastic in red! ❤
I’m glad I watched again! One thing that stood out more is the explanation of why brights in just cotton or simple styles sometimes don’t work. When I got my colors done and learned I was a winter I bought lots of t shirts in my colors from the thrift store so I could try the palette out but I do end up feeling kind of flat even when I’m wearing colors that look nice on me. Gonna keep an eye out on more structural or textured pieces in my colors to replace the tsbirts now that I know I like actually do like my bright colorful winter palette 🎨 . And now I know some other options for color mixing other than navy/jean/black
Great information, very dense. Best description of how to use the color wheel rings I've ever seen. Thanks so much!
Very informative video! I'm rediscovering your channel and really enjoying the type of content you're focusing on now!❤
Yay so glad!
This video is sooo goood. I watched it 3 times already. It’s so amazing when you wear colours!!
Love that the re-upload gave me a reason to revisit this info. So worth watching more than once!!!
Oh boy! There is so much information here that this needs to be watched more than once.
I love all the igs, but hadn't been able to express it. I mostly wear whites, camels, gold but have been craving that extra dimension. So thanks!
I was so happy to have my color analysis done a few days ago! Now I know exactly which colors look best on me and how to incorporate them into my wardrobe and makeup. I’m going through my closet now and getting rid of the items with colors that don’t work. And I went on my first shopping trip and bought some purple jeans! I’m so excited!
Which season were you again, Christina? Am I remembering correctly that you are an autumn? I’m glad you’re having fun with color!
I think dark Winter
@@nellykleppe2629 well, I think she had an official color analysis done; I just don’t remember what she found out. Let us know! Just curious. If I’m remembering correctly, it seems like Christina said she thinks seasonal color analysis is stupid, or maybe she’s a person who has decided she’s gonna wear whatever colors she wants no matter what her so-called season is. Not meaning to speak for you here, Christina, so please correct me! I am just very intrigued by any kind of of color analysis/color theory and I’m just trying to learn all I can from different perspectives. :-)
@@jjjjk1241 she had one done by her friend who does another system and she was deep cool clear which would probably most closely translate to dark winter. It seems she has mixed feelings as you’re saying
@@nellykleppe2629 OK, thank you so much! I was just curious, and it is so hard to go back and search videos for one specific piece of information. OK, that helps me to see what she was doing with the bright blue and the bright orange red. Very cool!
You can make "not your best colors work by adding a white shirt next to your face or a scarf.
My favorite was the Two combinations 😅❤ loved this video anyway
Yes I actually paused the video to admire that, such great combinations! Light grey with pops of colour are so underrated imho.
@@skygaz3rtotally agree!, orange is my favorite color and I think it looks amazing paired with gray, I also love red with brown, gray and blue, and different cream colors with a pop of color. I find they give my peace and energy at the same time.
So fun. I have been putting the idea of brights with off-colors (4s & 3s) on my own, but it was great to hear someone make true sense of it
Love, love, LOVE this video! I think I'll reorganize my closet by ring color to make combinations easier. Thank you and Tibi!
Thank you for Tibi, Christina! You are the best.
This is a great video, loved it more the second time around. This certainly helps my style conundrum!!!🥳
Love how simple you explained this i have seen other videos and never really understood the color wheel theory. Thank you loved this ❤
This was a really good video and thanks for helping to break down the concepts. I have a bunch of ring 4 pieces but somehow never quite worked as I realized I was either pairing them with black or they had no interesting element which is why I never wore the outfits and stuck with clothes in ring 1 and 2. Now I'm excited to try new colour combos that I never thought of before with things I already have this season!
You look great in red! It’s all about your makeup for most colors.
Such an informative video! You’ve explained the wheel so well and how to use/interpret it. I cannot stand wearing high contrast combinations and I’m never drawn to it in any iteration whether it’s in fashion, home decor, etc.
This wheel really resonates with me, understanding what I’m drawn to with regard to the rings and how they can work interchangeably.
yay! appreciate this + a huge tibi fan too!
Amazing video. This made styling make a lot more sense to me and I will for sure be using this as a styling tool in the future!!
That was such a insight. It made me really wanting to try more color.
Such a great job explaining the Tibi colour wheel! You are very eloquent ❤ I was actually just pouring through the Tibi website yesterday because you mention Tibi often and I got curious. What a wealth of style wisdom and inspiration I found! Amy is amazingly talented and so much fun 👏🏼
She is THE coolest!
Wow, I am learning so much from you! Thank you 🥹
Terrific video Christina! Thanks!
Loved watching this video, twice.
Yayyyyy thank you 🥰🫶🥹🥹
Lv all ur videos, but this was a miss for me. I mean, the outfits are lovely, but i don't c how the wheel helped. What's the point of creating an outfit, then putting it on a wheel😅 its vry confusing. But i lv how you're getting out of ur comfort zone n getting into colour ❤
This was really informative and helpful in seeing interesting ways to open up my own clothing color palette. Thank you.
I have recently stumbled onto your channel. I don’t know what your career was before RUclips but you are a very well-spoken instructor. This was very well put together- the right amount of humor, good illustrations and examples, and easy dialog to explain yourself. I really enjoy your videos. I’m 70 but enjoy dressing quirky and interesting. I love makeup and style. I look forward to your videos!
This was VERY helpful. Thank you 🙏
That was awesome Christina ❤
Very interesting video, I'm inspired to experiment with these ideas. One thing I'm personally not that much into is using primary colors (painting, not print colours) together with each other...it's very hard to make them work in a way that won't make you look like a cartoon character...but that's just something I wouldn't be comfortable with in my style, other people could totally rock that look. (Thinking of it, I don't feel comfortable wearing primary colors myself, except for yellow paired with some neutrals, so that might have something to do with it). To me, not all brights work as well, some remind me too much of fast food-restaurant color palettes, while others (like bright pinks and greens) can look very chic. My instincts tell me to mix more sort-of colors with the brights, but - don't take me too seriously, this must be very different for different people. And I'm definitely not understanding the latest trends in color, I tend to be very late to the party with new trends.
Love love love these videos! Would love to see more on bigs and pigs
I think thats why jeans go with so many colours as they are a three with four. I like the none- the threes and twos together.
Ok, awesome. I get it. Thank you! ❤
Really interesting video with a lot of useful information, it is absolutely worth watching it twice ❤ thank you
love this video! super useful💗💗
😍 I would love a whole video on pigs and bigs! Those concepts felt like they were almost separate to the color question.
Coming up!
YES
I think this put to words why some of the maximal / bright / pouder colors ove been trying, when comebineds arent overwhelming anymore. Somwthing about shopping in your color palette means all your closed, even yhr birght pink and bright blue, still work because of undertones / vibrance. Idk this video os/was really great!
Awesome video, thank you for sharing, I am also just starting to add color to my wardrobe, but I had not thought about how textures can make such a huge difference too! Looking forward to creating some new outfits with this knowledge now 😊
Same, the texture-idea is a game changer :)
Brilliant!
Thanks, I make the mistake of buying colours and putting it with black then wonder why I don’t really like it.
This video was very inspirational! Thank you! I saw a beautiful yellow blouse the other day and talked myself out of buying it, as I thought I had nothing to pair it with. Well… now I see I do! 😁
You had me at the Pleasantville preview
Awesome video! I met Amy last week and asked her how to use the color wheel and she directed me to your video and it makes so much sense. I appreciate the breakdown and look forward to seeing more of your content.
Omg that’s amazing! 🥹🥹🥹❤️❤️
I'm kinda the opposite I don't even consider beige, gray, black and white to be colors at all. They are just the background for the color.😅
Hi Christina, thank you so much for this video. It was really helpfull for me to pinpoint what felt off when i was sytling my outfit. I just went through a change in my personal style and it was difficult for me to expand my colour pallet from a ring 2 to a ring 4. On one hand a i had nice, bright colours that could me easy combined with my more neutral outfits, to just add 1 pop of coulor, but mixing and matching my full ring 4 colours was too much for my personal styling. Thanks to this video i realize that i personly a type one person. Neutral outfits with one pop of colour, and that's ok.
Amazing!
You look radiant! Wow..That colour is amazing on you. So beautiful.
The Tibi wheel is a great toy/tool to have, looking forward. Thank you for sharing great and practical examples
Very interesting. I have always been color and prints, minimal black and white.
This video actually changed how I think about color completely, so helpful! Is that color wheel printable?
You look so much better in color and more fitted cothes
Such a cool, useful video
Great information
I look at the color wheel and the overall feel of it to me is very greyed down and predominantly cool toned, with the warm pastel tones not well represented, I would not be attracted to use this system. But i was trained old school with the seasonal color swatches that work so well and so simply. Having said that you look lovely in many of the combos you chose so it obviously works for you :)
I love wearing color and this video made me realize that I mostly wear colors from Ring 2. Interesting to think about these concepts.
So excited for spring and have been doing a closet declutter/edit! I'm so excited to wear color this season!
Meeee toooo!
This is really informative
Just as brilliant as last time 😘
❤️❤️🥹🥹
Love your content to begin the weekend ✨😊
Yayyyy happy Friday!
I would love to buy this color wheel!
Loved this, but also loved it a few months ago when you released the exact same video..
So true...I kept buying bright colors but it was jarring. I just couldn't do it. Now I started doing navy, blues.
Wow. Please do more! I have tried to watch some Tibi videos but they are too much for me. However, you havre broken it down to a very simple explanation, and I will go back and try to watch some of the videos again. That said, do more of this.
love your videos! so so helpful! Is there a way to buy the color wheel? Like you have on your phone? Thanks so much!
You look fantastic in red!
so helpful!
Right?! So glad! It’s life changing!
I was literally looking at your wardrobe on Indyx and saw a lot of color, then this video popped up😁👏
Hahah having fun!
A reupload is perfect bc I was a bit confused the first time, so I can watch it again!
Yay!
You could do a weekly colour theory video and I would remain riveted! Thank you :)
I love that red - blue combo. It feels a bit edgy to me, kind of industrial.
This is definitely just personal preference. I really don't see some of these combos as being nice, but that's just me.
Absolutely brilliant. Great Video. The best one ever on Colour
What a handy size colour wheel - could you please share where you purchased? (i cannot locate on Tibi site) great video - colour temperature and saturation are so important and over overlooked in many areas 👌
Awesome video. Where are your blue pants from?
Great concept with the colour wheel. Is the wheel digital only or can you buy a physical one to take shopping with you?
JUMPSCARE!! COLOR!!
HAHAHAH right
Thorough and informative, really enjoyed this - thank you. 8:36 can you share a pants ID?
this reminds me of how Trinny Woodall always says never to wear black with color because it immediately sucks the life out of the color. I break this rule out of necessity (most of my outerwear is black) but it's totally true.
I came to say this exactly! I learned so much from watching her closet confessions series. I’ve never really liked myself in black but now if I wear black I wear it with camels, gray, beige or white. I mostly wear color with color! And it brings me so much joy (like Trinny says). I also got my colors done and have completely different “neutrals” so if I buy a coat that is hyacinth for example it actually goes with a lot of my wardrobe !
I'm missing the medium chroma and the rich colors in this one. You basically got bright chroma here, low chroma and then neutrals. To me that isn't a cohesive or holistic way to look at possible and great color combinations. It also depends a lot on one's coloring which combos work and which don't. Someone might look odd in black + brights while someone else will shine in them and look odd in black/neutrals + soft colors. I don't find this concept very pleasing, I'm in no way trying to bash the creator of it, because I think they did put a lot of thought into it, but I personally just don't vibe with it. I think I might also already walk beyond the possibilities you get offered by using this color wheel. It might be really great for people who are new to wearing color or feel like they are bored with the way they wear it and don't really know how to switch things up. But for me personally, it feels rather restrictive. I am pretty sure some people will be very excited to try out styling their clothes using this wheel and might feel attacked now. Don't. It's amazing if this is something that works for you. Anything that works for someone is amazing. It really doesn't matter if something that works perfectly for you doesn't work for someone else. That's the beauty of all the differences and different perspectives of individual people. And just because I prefer to combine colors differently than this wheel suggests, doesn't mean your way of doing it, is worse or wrong.
I'm amazed that we have so many colours in common in our wardrobes. Even despite being complete opposites in terms of skin colour and tone.
But why do you have 2 items in that eye sore blue? I bought pants in that exact colour and immediately regretted it, it's still sitting around somewhere in my closet lol
(Still) ❤ that red on you!
This theory makes no sense to me. I've never had an issue mixing colours based on their intensity, it's always been the base tones that cause things to look off. This doesn't seem to take the actual colour into account at all.
yea hue matters more here that saturation or value. some of her combinations were clashing because of the hues not meshing.
My favorite video you have ever made. I love them all, but this one is my absolute favorite! Love!
I’d love to know where I can get the Tibi color wheel sticker that you have on your phone. It would be helpful to always have this on hand when I’m getting dressed or making a new purchase. Thank you!
They send a sticker when you order off Tibi - but I believe she’s coming out with one for purchase soon!
Loved this video! Where I struggle is putting it into action and then wondering if I’m doing it right or wrong. Would be cool to make part two of this video using your subscribers outfits using the color wheel and giving us some feedback on if we are way off or on point and how to improve based on the Tibi Color Wheel. Great video nonetheless!
Omg SO much fun!!!! Def going to do this! Stay tuned to my IG stories I’ll be asking for submissions this week
Super excited! ❤
You look great in red
Combining colors in my wardrobe is so easy I can do it with my eyes closed…because all my clothes are in my color palette (winter). Easy peazy 😎😅
