this has great foreboding and seems to be like a quiet before the storm almost making it a type of modern prelude. the development is very gradual which makes the sound much more insistent in its message. the visual is very appropriate. for me it seems to be an excellent musical depiction of time. time with space or maybe even without it.
i think the compression is the best part :) it mostly effects the center and evolves in density. it's shows the digitalization of something raw and human
oh man you're talking to me deep...alva noto and your visual is a great spacecraft journey what r u using to do that? u have one new real follower this is dope...
Hi, hope i can still provide some help here ;) The visuals (i can only talk for raster noton) used to be processed through quartz processors. Its a hard and nerdy thing to do, so since there is software they use programs where they code responses for certain frequencies/harmonics etc. It's not really a "video" for that matter, get yourself some books on the topic. If you're just looking for a cool experimental video - this is not what you want to do. cheers
I'm not entirely sure how exactly you would do this, but it could be done using a custom object for max / jitter receiving midi information from ableton live. You could write the object presumably in processing, or maybe using cinder for c++. I'm afraid that's all the help I can give you though, you're on your own from here. Message me if you make something
I just bought a new printer and thought "this sounds like Alva Noto."
Threw this on in the background and now my Epson is doing a duet with it!
that's a priceless remark !!
;D
damn that's funny 😂

It started off as something for the background, about eleven minutes in, I was becoming it.

Processing ? Cinder? openFrameworks ?
Touch Designer? Max?
All 5
This is so beautiful. Really intrigued on how the visuals are generated. Any one know?
+Julian Surma Not sure how these viz were produced in particular, but check out a programming language called Processing.
OK, will do. Thank you! :)

Seems like he could have made the entire thing in max/jitter (sequencing/synths + visuals), right?
A mí me suena a música producida por 10 objetos de plástico, con diferentes formas y texturas.
anybody knows how to make this kind of sound visualization for a live performance?
I don't know who we just called but they don't know what I'm saying.
what genre is this?
electronic music
obviously you ape. Electronic music has like 50+ subgenres.
damn, you so developed you can't read text on any level besides the literal
opioid ambient (not serious)
Glitch.
