Cinematic preset is for screenshots. Mix of very-high/high settings is recommended. I use PT on my 4090 because of shadow flickering even on cinematic preset.
I have a 4080 Super and use full path tracing at 1440p using DLSS quality (slider set to 66). With frame gen of course. 20 hours into the game and four chapters deep it mostly runs well. Granted I use DF’s optimized settings as the cinematic preset is a waste. A mix of high/very high gets you virtually the same visuals but better performance if you look at jkth side by side.
@@fantasprite916 I would still try DLSS. Quality first. DLSS as a whole will help do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to graphics. On a 4080 at 4K if you’re also running Frame Gen I would imagine you’d still get acceptable frame rate. Path tracing/ray tracing will be even heavier. But yeah I’d test dlss quality first. That still might be enough
how the hell you are getting so low fps on 14th gen i7???? i have a i9900k with 4080 (non super) and on 4k all cinematic i am getting 85 to 90 fps stable ingame all the time. currently started chapter 3. my only diffrent setting than yours is 50% super resolution and you have at 66%. with or without rtx getting same fps. how are you getting so low fps witha 4080 and a letest gen i7. 🤔
@@FatBoyGadgets-1 Ig you just got lucky on the silicone lottery or there are sm differences between your setting. Regardless of that may you have a wonderful experience with it
I get 65-80fps and input lag between 55-65ms with DLSS performance + FG. The game is quite smooth and responsive enough for me when playing on the DualSense controller.

yeah cinematic really dumps on the fps for barely any visual gain
This. Normally in UE games cinematic isn’t even accessible in settings. It’s literally graphics settings reserved for cutscenes not gameplay in mind.
lol, at the end 35 fps, so input lag is about 20 fps)
Dope vid, enjoying my play through so far
Is anyone else getting really bad ghosting?
Anyone game performing worst after the new Nvidia update? i went from average 100 fps to 70 fps with the same settings.
set super resolution to 50%. this setting is causing the low fps issue.
I was happy to have good fps with my RTX 4070 up there in heaven. But as soon as we went into the forest, the nightmare started xD
same 😂
That's interesting. I had the opposite occur where the clouds and mist caused my fps to hover around 50-70 than on the ground it became 80-100.
How the hell did you manage pulling only 60 watt in wukong? Can u explain?
@Tyrian
So with a rtx 4080 you have to play balanced mode if you want have path tracing right ?

Okay thank you for the information. So that means in 4K it has to be performance mode right?

Summary, dont activate rt even with a 4090
yep, 4090 without rtx - 125fps with fg + dlss 76%
Lumens gives like 90% of DLSS ultra anyway. The improvements of ultra RT is barely noticable.
Strange, I thought this game was designed to squeeze it with the RT. I guess we have to wait for the 5090 or 5080.
I use high preset + PT very high and it runs great on my 4090. Without PT shadows and reflections look bland.
its the cinematic setting
put it on very high , massive fps difference but like no difference basically in visuals

+120 core +1000 memory
fg? so 35-40 fps)
