      #challengeaccepted?! I definitely get it. And I've fought my ego personally to regress to progress at times. But it has ALWAYS been worth it! You'll thank yourself for doing it later!

      Thank you! Glad they help. I think we need to be reminded of these things often as we get lost in the doing or the feeling things aren't happening fast enough and these help us step back to assess and adjust!

    Thank you Cori for great advice as always. Watching this while having a yoghurt to help hit my protein goal. I think patience and expectations are the biggest hurdle.
    Im down 4kg in 6 weeks after being told im pre diabetic. I get frustrated when my weight goes up again or flat lines for a few days Drives me nuts. But i remind myself the scales dont tell us the full picture. How do our clothes fit? Something my poor old PT had to thump into my head. And this weight didnt go on overnight. Be patient. If i can lose 10kg by Christmas as requested by my doctor, i will be thrilled. I will be 2/3rds back to where i need to be. Wont be for the want of trying. But if i dont i just know i have to keep plugging away. My health doesnt have a choice.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  2 дня назад +1

      Great job and love that focus on protein. I always go back to reminding myself of WHY I'm doing things and the process I have made no matter how small. Even maintaining one week or stepping back while doing the habits is progress because we didn't give up! KEEP GOING! Celebrate those wins along the way!

    thanks for this video.. especially the part about not always needing to be sore.. somehow I thought it was necessary and as you mentioned it kind of gets a bit addictive, but then it stopped me when I wanted to go hiking for example (well, I still went bit it was not feeling "free" and just couldn't enjoy it as I could) and in those moments, I really questioned my training - I don't want this constant soreness to limit my quality time! I guess I'll have to shift my mindset somehow... get it more sustainable.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  10 часов назад +1

      I think it is shifting to a focus on tracking progress in those numbers and getting that consistent schedule! While it can feel satisfying at times to be sore, the point of our workouts is to move and feel our best in every day life while seeing the body recomp we may want!

  • @kds5065
    @kds5065 День назад

    Hell yeah for the "schedule shifts" tip. I'm usually pretty good with my diet and alcohol intake on weekdays. Heck, I'm usually at a calorie deficit 4 or 5 days during the week. But then I totally make up for that on the Friday and/or Saturday (sometimes Sunday).

    • @redefiningstrengthOC

      When I feel like my plans never work out, I assess how I'm planning. I find often my to-do list is too much or the habits haven't been built up to. So I take things back to basics and simplify the plan with minimums to get the momentum building first. Then add on :-)

    I totally understand that, if we really overeat on the weekend (esp.if it's 3 days !!), the total amount of calories of the week will increase dramatically. BUT I have one question please : let's assume you "eat good" (even in a little deficit) all week, and have ONE cheat day on the weekend, and then go back to normal. If this (massive, for me) cheat day doesn't make our weekly caloric total explode, could it be beneficial ? 1st, for our mental health, and, 2nd, could it be help to reboost our metabolism for one day ?

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  День назад +1

      I don't think there is anything wrong with a day of not fully "dialed in" eating or a cheat day BUT our daily, weekly, monthly averages still add up. The more you do on that day, the greater the impact. Not bad BUT you just have to weigh sustainability vs. speed of results. And even if you do want a day account for that in how you plan your weekly calories and macros!

    • @karinekmk9293
      @karinekmk9293 День назад

      @@redefiningstrengthOC thank you Cori for your answer. Yes, the higher the calories on that day, the more impact it has. Do you think that that caloric excess can be turned to our advantage by a temporary boost of our metabolism ? I know I sweat more on that day (post prandial thermogenesis), for example !

    • @redefiningstrengthOC

      Training is key but diet matters and must complement our workouts and address our health concerns to help us see results and feel our. best. Tracking your food is key and can even help you see improvements in thyroid health as you work to navigate those food sensitivities and even reduce inflammation :-)
