tiktok mfs gon be mad after watching this
I hope they find it.
at least it’ll teach ‘em to stop calling everything breakcore.
@@uuu3x i spread it
mfs will hear one amen break and say "yup that's breakcore!"
It’s fine… the breakcore luxury wasn’t meant for their 30 second short form adrenaline rush shriveled brains anyway.
This is like those days when old dubstep heads saw their scene taken over by a new crowd doing a different thing. Not necessarily a bad thing, but the point of pain for them was that the new music using the old name didn’t even seem to have a connection to its roots or acknowledge them, and had a completely different emotional vibe.
well, the difference here is that drum and bass already exists... brostep didn't exist before dubstep. it's a very important distinction
@@uuu3x ah, I see. I thought that a new wave of musicians were taking the name breakcore and doing different things with it.
@@theskv21 well, again... drum and bass has already been a well defined sound since at least the mid 1990s. breakcore has been since at least the late 1990s. do you not see any potential issue with rebranding an already existing genre (drum and bass) as another already existing genre (breakcore) for clout/edginess/brownie points? this is why i attempted to illustrate the difference using dubstep and brostep for you. i guess it went over your head.
@@uuu3x it’s okay man. I largely agree with you. Things can quickly get messy!
@@uuu3xI think the breakcore/digital hardcore/experimental noisy idm scene started in 1992 when Alec empire released a record called ‘SuEcide’, the 3rd track on the b side is what started it all.
I think you need to do a side by side between jungle, hard jungle, ragga jungle and breakcore. Because people nowadays seem to think that they are all breakcore.
aye aye cap'n
And drill and bass.
arent they all just sub generes of dnb?
It's a very complex conversation to have. However, there are certain documentaries that take the time to explain in great depth the history of electronic music in the UK, where jungle comes from. Breakcore is fairly new in comparison to the first subgenres, made popular by artists like Venetian Snares, goreshit, and Sewerslvt.
In a bit I'll edit this with the links to different videos that explore people, places, times, and songs that help explain jungle, hardcore, and dancehall. From there you can learn some more about breakcore itself and where it stems from.
@@playercore7444 drill and bass is a made up genre for brits who like experimental fast breakbeats but don't want to associate themselfs with the rest of the world breakcore. aphex's druqs and squarepusher is breakcore with a british flavor and not a separate genre, no matter what they think about themself.
tiktokers forcing themselves to like it
hahahahah
ultraviolent junglist is a fucking banger i love aarons music
bro turned into chills at the end 💀
Jungle is all about those gansta basslines and intelligent design. Drum and Bass has a lot of soul and Breakcore sounds like they let the DAW sip some McDonalds Sprite. Nothing bad, just different.
nice video! Very good examples.
I have to admit, I used to be horrible at telling electronic genre apart lol
Thank u for this educational content sir 👍👍
Breakcore cuz it has a lot of breaks. That feels so obvious i can't believe i missed it.
very drum and based of you
😂👌🏻
Underrated
Very educational. Thank you 🙇🏽
As a Sewerslvt fan, I am aware that she made mostly DnB
The Breakcore Jesus, Venetian Snares...
I can confirm this video is indeed real
what an eduactional video :0
So, dnb gonna make me chill while driving, but breakcore make me faster?
No. Breakcore is drum and bass. The guy picked out a random tune and said that's the whole genre. Breakcore isn't even a subgenre. It's a microgenre.
@@user-vp6cq4sv3d define example
@@user-vp6cq4sv3d Calling Venetian Snares a DnB artist is fuckin retarded.
@@user-vp6cq4sv3dyou’re talking out of you’re ass dude, breakcore is a totally different thing from drum n bass. It derived from jungle, hardcore, and gabber.
@@Newtined No he's right, breakcore IS drum and bass. It derived from jungle, hardcore, and drum and bass. Also jungle is used as a synonym of drum and bass.
you're doing the world a favor with this. the only thing is longer samples of each track might've been more instructive
basically the difference:
drum and bass: divine think/amen break with pads
breakcore: amen break but fricked up
I love the agressive style, keep it up.
i love you for making this video i hope god sends five billion dollars to your doorstep
fire intro 🔥
drum and bass, breakcore, and jungle sounds like 3 different versions of the same genre. but maybe its because i listen to phonk and different types of phonk can be REALLY different. like look up "cowbell goth - by dragonmane" "this feeling - by my!lane" "tuka donka- by tribal trap" "incoming - by mcorsen" and "lobotomy - by kslv" and u'll see what i mean
All those genres come from a single one called Breakbeat Hardcore (from the early 90's)
That's why the similarities, the thing is that
the genre started to split up and began to create new waves, one of them was Jungle (focused on the breaks and complex drum patterns)
And DnB was born from Jungle (the difference between DnB and Jungle is that DnB has more complex bass design and patterns than Jungle, and it has simple and repetitive breaks) and well, it's basically all the story of those genres
Breakcore was born in the late 90's with the experimental of DnB and heavy, glitchy breaks
Bro went from: "Some of you motherfuckers STILL don't UNDERSTAND- 😡" to "Love you all! 😇"
i send it under every break core mix section thats actually ambient jungle
honestly the harder one is breakcore vs hardcore.
nice vid though!
early breakcore maintained a lot of the influences from hardcore
just listen to early breakcore
nowadays people are scared to put a kick in their songs, but it's definitely breakcore lol
it's not hard at all lol, they are pretty much completely different
is this a joke, i cannot tell i am stupid, pls be a joke
hardcore techno and breakbeat hardcore (both like being called hardcore) are,,, bro... pls be a jokey joke (dies)
@@djaw_ music genres confuse me a lot bro, I am quite the simpleton when it comes to stuff like this
THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED "BREAKCORE", BECAUSE IT FOCUS ON THE BREAKS AND TO MAKE NOISE WITH THEM
But what's with jungle?
u are our saviour 🤍
so what if I mix those 2 together?
yeah its hilarious how people think an artist can only be one or the other lmao. thats why i like jcore so much, they literally genre switch midsong and sh*t all the time but at the end of the day its still jcore to everyone. just like both of these are from jungle
drill n bass
@@Brandonvilches0721 bro,,,,, why would u say something so controversial
@@yuxanne. hehehahahahah
what is the real break core song called
I feel like guys like noisia or black sun empire make like drum and bass but edging towards breakcore, or with a breakcore touch, or am I stupid idk
Haven’t heard recent Noisia-back in the day they were making “brostep” and the kind of dnb you’d hear referred to as jump-up, etc. Haven’t heard their recent stuff. Back then they definitely messed with harsh extreme sounds at times, so if they went into a style with crazy beats and fills and glitches, that sounds awesome.
@@theskv21 yeah, bse and noisia r still dnb, noisia expanding out more tho, no breakcore tho
@@yuxanne. hell yeah 🤘
I think the reason you think that style of older dnb is close to breakcore bc it just has more complex hihat and ride patterns, those are the only things I can think of that make regular breaks sound complex besides variations of the usual 2step kick snare which r common in dark dnb
I'm guessing it's the techstep and older neurofunk stuff that gives off those vibes I guess lol
And darkstep also arose from techstep, which is like, where you'll find the most complexity (drum sequencing wise) in dnb
Dnb is very varied, there's a ton of subgenres and each producer has various styles
all this stems from tiktok kids stealing the word "core" and putting it at the end of shit to emphasize it more. So like the dreamy nature aesthetic would be called "cottagecore", or tiktok scene kids would call themselves "scenecore". and naturally if they hear pretty aesthetic modern jungle songs like Asc's discogrophy they would call it breakcore.
So i can confirm that i freaking love breakcore
breakcore is literally just idm/jungle beats but with anime girls.
i dont like breakcore i only like lolicore

Breakcore goes: AAV BBC SIUSJRKFJDJJWEHHWHWKOWIIRHHHDHDJKKAKHDB OR
OOOOOOOH ok I get it now
Was that dnb song not jungle😅
First example is more a Liqud DNB than just DNB
But I think not all breakcore sounds like this. Or all?
If it has any type of amen break then it's breakcore, that's the logic people use.
Damn that's crazy I'm gonna call it hip hop & rap
give link on your profile pic pls
Drum and based
Break core 🤓☝🏾 DRUM AND BASS 👹👹👹
Soo one is just better than the other got it
where dose slvt music fit in?

I’d say it’s drum and bass
A lot of this newer “breakcore” stuff does blur the line between the two though

Are you talking to an American audience? Lol, everyone knows what dnb is in Europe, it all started in the UK rave scene. Breakcore came from jungle, if you like that type of thing 😊
i don hear it

(pin this)) Drill'n'Bass is better :)
ruclips.net/video/I6VF_iKs6X4/видео.html is this breakcore or jungle/dnb then? Comments are confusing me. Drop starts around 0.55
this sounds more dnb derived, it reminds me of a darkstep song i like

Why tha fuck people decided to call things breakcore if it is not breakcore? I'm fuckin confused 😂
But thank you! Now I know what's breakcore
I'll definitely delete my "breakcore" playlist after this video... 😂
I dont get it with these people, why is it so fucking hard to differentiate, it's a night and day differebce
so basically DNB/jungle has slower BPM than breakcore?
yes, it’s easy to understand.
Usually your dnb won’t push past 175bpm, or go below 160bpm. Jungle will probably hover at around 150bpm. Sonically though, they can both kind of resemble breakcore, when you pick artists in those genres that make aggressive stuff (the glitchier, distorted and the more beat juggling the better).
Thats an oversimplified take. Breakcore incorporates a lot of playful choppage and wackiness. Occassionally even hardcore (techno) kicks.
so basically elephants are grey?
Ultraviolet Junglist is far outside the standard deviation, most people dont ever hear fringe stuff like that. Like we're talking people who grew up on PS2-era DNB and Breakcore, and didnt really notice a difference
weird how your amd about people not knowing difference between the 2 when
a. they likely only recently discovered the genres
b. they sound pretty fuckin similar
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Important video
So breakcore is just liquid/soft dnb
Lmao wtf are you talking about
where dose lolicore fit in?
more on the breakcore side usually
"Lolicore is what you feel." meaning, lolicore is not just one type of music, there can be breakcore influenced lolicore, which is the most known nowadays, but there can also be hardcore based lolicore, speedcore based lolicore, IDM based lolicore, with anime samples, no anime samples and so on. If you look at earlier lolicore releases from before 2010 you can see much different types of songs being made in the genre, but what makes lolicore good and, to be redundant, lolicore, there has to be an understanding of otaku culture.
this may sound pretentious or irrelevant but there's so many people nowadays that get this genre wrong lol it's not just chopped breaks over anime samples.
@@komugi0221 thank you for your helpful and insightful comment, genuinely really appreciate it
