i hate the debate on good or bad breakcore cause everyone finds their preffered one.... and i like both the "animetrash" and even the agressive or nonmelodic one i dont care.... till it isnt dnb called breakcore got no problem OR overly repetetive one
not to be an english teacher on-line, but the third sentence is just unreadable. i think i'm almost understanding it on my 5th read, but i'm still not sure. are you saying you don't care about how a breakcore tune sounds like, unless it's just dnb or overly repetitive, or are you saying you even like breakcore stuff that just sounds like dnb or is overly repetitive?
I can't get into breakcore. I've enjoyed drum'n'noise tho.
@@computer_dude yep, first part
the ‘anime trash’ isn’t bad breakcore, it just isn’t breakcore.
what the fuck, actually the first breakcore mix that has alec empire in it
cant wait for the "animetrash"'s listeners finally discover Alec Empire with this video
rel 🤑
Literally none of the good songs in the album that "Bang your Head" is in (The Destroyer, 1996), too.
@@TheSutanian "My Body Cannot die" wouldve fit in this mix. but it might be too hardcore/amenspam and the "Animetrash"'s listeners dont like that stuff
@@Lennuh1 I was thinking “Don’t lie white girl” wouldve been good. The Peak is my favorite song in the album but its probably also super intense.
Its definitely not what most breakcore listeners would expect, even though its the most basal form of it.

Idk what's good or bad, I'm a music lover anyway and I love this mix
The most annoying thing about misslabeling DnB or Jungle as Breakcore for me, is that at it's core Breakcore wanted to be different, more chaotic and more hardcore, then mainstream Breakbeat genres in the mid 90's, and the sad part is that because of tiktok kids, these genres got morphed into one back again, I might be wrong tho
Jungle (and DnB, esp hardstep [you might call this more jungle], then techstep and then early neurofunk) _was_ the dark and brooding genre of the 90s, and the shift towards it was done from hardcore releases that reflected more negative aspects of the UK and raves at the time. Breakcore originally was just a Berlin based, punk-infused super version of this, so it's more accurate to say it took the inspiration from the direction it was going. Breakcore, however, was never very unified, so it went in a lot of different directions after that, even taking inspiration from the happier side of hardcore just as often. Closer to the truth to say it became watered down, but you can still find the more punk or metallic parts of it through acts like Drumcorps, Ladyscraper, Divtech or old Dev/Null releases before he moved on to jungle music.
the only good thing to come out of these meaningless squabbles over which scenes are good is these playlists
love me some of the anime and atmospheric stuff but im looking for stuff like this too keep it up
Don't get me wrong, the atmospheric dnb scene (or glitchcore, or tictokcore or any other names) is also good (although any scene has its own piles of dung of course)
I personally (and I suspect many other "OG breakcore and angry about depressed anime stuff" crowd) kinda mad that finding music of my favourite genre became harder
And that to any OG breakcore discussion comes this one (or several) TikTok kid (nothing wrong with being one btw) that muddles the discussion with irrelevant stuff. It's annoying and many times painful for everyone involved
So "which is good" in my opinion isn't even a discussion. It's strange to argue about tastes
@@strangecitizen yeah thats what kinda bothers me bout all ts, i rlly like the atmospheric breakcore but I also rlly like the chaotic breakcore and no one can come to an agreement on what to call x genre and y genre and it becomes rlly confusing
Proper ravey Breakcore is the only inheritor to good old jungle
VENETIAN SNARES!!!!!!!!!
Everyone crying about their favorite music genre being ruined is the best part of this video other then the music
thank goodness I found something without excessive anime girls random noises! thank you!
same here, the weird moaning noises always bothered me especially
FR
FINALLY SOME FUCKING VSNARES AND ALEC EMPIRE ON A BREAKCORE PLAYLIST
Most of this is still jungle and dnb
Breakcore does not exist and we will argue about its loosely defined production until we die
@@Ruminatee I agree, the problem is that the culture and history behind jungle is disappearing because of the name breakcore.
@@DXM99999 I would consider the two inherently linked. The "history of breakcore" is part of the "history of jungle". Andrew Whelan's book "Breakcore: Identity and Peer to Peer interaction" goes into great detail about it. Use of pluderphonics, percussive intensity, and complexity are common to both the genres. I would not blame the common listener for ignorance, since distinctions between the genres requires a somewhat trained ear and a fundamental understanding of their respective cultures. I wouldn't worry too much about tiktok kids misconstruding the genres, because half a year or a year from now they will move on to another FAD music genre.
@@Ruminatee Another FAD music genre lol. Jungle seems to have groove, and also has breaks that are typically less chopped. I noticed breakcore has next to no groove, you cant really "feel" the music, and it usually has more break chops at higher speeds. I always thought the differences were very obvious to a lot of people and they just didnt care, but i guess not.
@@DXM99999
What is "FAD"?
Music fans are the worst when it comes to arguing about whats "correct" and breakcore fans are the worst among music fans lol. Still this playlist hits. Ty
First and foremost breakcore needs to have experimental and very chopped breaks (the distorted drum thing) that don't stay same for too long.
And many of the mislabeled songs just have one break loop that doesn't even changes through the whole track
I wish we could just be happy and enjoy the music without arguing about those things
me when genres are defined by their specific characteristics rather than just being a label you can slap on anything:
@@cloneian2848 Some genres just don't have a specific definition sometimes and that causes unnecessary problems
@@thehermionegrangerr breakcore has had a specific definition since the 1990's, its experimtal at high tempo and with highly chopped breaks
Time to see if I like breakcore or just anime trash
1:00 in and i already see what ive been missing
Shit cures my ADHD. Thank you
soy
adding anime sounds doesnt make it not breakcore
Yes, but it's a stereotype. It just happens that anime aesthetics in tracks labeled as breakcore appears to be not-breakcore after closer inspection
For example hkmori and gores**t use anime aesthetics widely throughout their work and they do make breakcore so I agree with you
(P.S. I know that not all gores**t's are breakcore but many still are)
Lolicore is Better
finally, some fucking breakcore
doormouse based as always
It's simple blame Canada.
Please, don't blameCanada, please.
venetian snares?
I recommend these breakcore artists 4 u guys to listen:
Ayane Fukumi
FFF (Raggacore)
hkmori
Kola Kid (Chipbreak)
K1osk (Chipbreak and other subgenres of breakcore)
Mekuso (Breakcore with Splittercore/Frenchcore and TB-303 elements)
Renard (Raggacore, Mashcore, Chipbreak and Breakcore with Happy Hardcore elements)
Wan Bushi
hajnal gotta be one of my top 5 songs of all time
FINALLY REAL BREAKCORE
Ngl I don't know why breakcore is associated with anime shit
it got very popular in japan and some western acts started making "lolicore" - goreshit is an example.
Finally, don't stupid anime trash Atmospheric Dnb/Jungle.
I love Venetian Snares
We need to rebrand those mixes to Sadcore or Depression Breaks. I like those mixes don't get me wrong but THIS is the shit that gets me winning races.. in Assetto Corsa against the homies
sadcore (aka. slowcore) is already a thing (Codeine, Cat Power, Duster, The For Carnation)
i believe the correct term for the not breakcore stuff is drum and bass(dnb) or jungle
"Depression Breaks" it is lmao
Dan the Man
where are the whale noises
Finally some true breakcore
oh hell yeah thanks for this mix brodie
this is better
goes hard
Where can we find this pervasive anime core so we can avoid it?
No lain?!?!? No Breakcore
found the tokyopill fan
Why the heck is lain so rooted to this niche?
This is a REAL breakcore playlist, not atmospheric anime trash
check trash bin, tranime
@@skvmma real
yay
dayum even granny likes this
anime Vox - it's still an emotional instrument/sound, and what specific associations it plays on is a problem for a specific listener, not a genre
this is just modern breakbeat, it's the same as "anime trash" just missing the sampled anime sounds, same pads, synth and amen break lol
this is the type of music you'll find in ultrakill but missing the guitar
don’t care it’s going the “breakcore” playlist
finally some good breaks
Yeah this is good
Alec empire aswell? yeah this real breakcore
A lot of this is still jungle, but damn Venetian Snares is in here so W
UGHHHHH YESSSSSSSSSSSS
i really believe breackore help with constipation problem
acrnym is the goat. do they still make music?
oh my god bye2 is in this i love her music
was expecting the thumbnail to say something along the lines of "stop saying its breakcore when its obviously drum n bass or jungle"
unfortunate that it just turned out to be a bitter person being mean
That bitter person is one of the most accomplished breakcore producers
Not defending the bitterness, just an interesting fact
And the mislabeling does gets ridiculous, so I kinda understand why he's so mad. I would be also mad if someone erased a genre that I worked my whole life to elevate
@@strangecitizen doormouse is also a very unserious person, i doubt he cares overly much about it, nor is he actually that bitter tbh.
on top of most accomplished though eric andre did buy one of doormouse's shirts
god this is the best thing ever i love mutanever
hajnal has my heart and soul it makes me scream with joy every time i hear it i love love venetian snares!!!! oh my god this is the coolest shit ever
Finally, I found it! Thanks for mix!
wonderful playlist its good to still see people that care about actual breakcore these days
bye2 🎼
ENDUSER ENDUSER YESSSS
kid606 lets goooo og glitch hop
Heat
On one hand, Im a bit peeved that the breakcore i listened to is actually called animetrash(because i didnt know). But on the other hand, *true* breakcore is also a banger
oh?
lolicore 🤝 breakcore
fuck ambient dnb tho
LOLI WHAT (or is there another meaning)
@@teethghouls2423its another somg genre, its pretty good
Yep, somg
ambient jungle and ambient dnb were both predecessors to breakcore put some respect on them
Pedocore**
The first one sounded like Idioteque at the start and my brain activated instantly 10/10 mix
lol the first time I've ever listened to idioteque i didn't know what it was and my first thought was that it's an opening to some obscure experimental hiphop album
ANIMETRASH is the real BREAKCORE
finally
TYSM, THAT'S PERFECT BREAKCORE MIX
Yet most of it is still jungle
