The Jenner is a famous Mech built specifically for the Draconis Combine. It is often deployed alongside the Panther.
Known for its combination of swift speeds and surprising firepower, the Jenner is a deadly interceptor able to outflank, outrun, or chase down most Mechs.
The Jenner does have its issues. The increased engine size is compensated by fewer heatsinks which causes the Mech to overheat more easily.

This is quite literally how I've been customizing my Jenners for close to twenty years now lol. It's also really close to the canon JR7-F. So Kudos Git Gud Fox.
This is my JR7D-1X "Fox Custom" build. There was also an X2, X3, X4 and X5 models. The most powerful of them was the 4 flamers model, but I decided it was too difficult to pilot for a beginner despite its effectiveness.
Carried me through state of decay, and now youre gonna carry me through mechwarrior 5!

Removing the SRM and adding armor is always the first thing I do whenever I get a Jenner while playing MW5 or Battletech. Its great to see my choices validated.
There were a few other variants I tried as well. The 4x Flamer variant performed the best, but it also required a lot more flanking and recognizing opportunistic moments than I thought a beginner should be expected to know how to do.

Superb yet another mech I’ve got and I keep looking at it thinking I’m not making the best use of the chassis so another that’ll be going into the mech bay later on
There were several other builds that worked well including a 4 flamers / SRM4 build, but it took a lot more piloting skill to use, so I kept the simple laser model which has always gotten solid results.
Really enjoy these build videos!

I'm a relatively new subscriber (only just gotten into MW5 recently) and I happened to stumble across your channel and I must say...Superb work on this style of video! It's been quite enjoyable and educating. Do you take requests? Or is it kinda a more random selection? I'm sure the turn around on each video is quite significant after all.
Welcome, I haven't been creating MW5 content long, but I have been creating content for like 4 or 5 years.
It's not entirely random, but it's also kind of random. The Mechs follow a certain pattern Light>Medium>Heavy>Assault then loops.
Sometimes, I don't know which Mech to choose, so I ask my Discord community for ideas.
The chosen Mech is always its most recognized, "standard", model such as in this case, the JR7-D which is seen as the "classic" model.
These manuals are sure useful.
Could you make one for the Vindicator or Raven in the future?
I plan to do 1 for the standard model for each Mech, but it'll take time. I can only make 3 a month or so.

could you do an extra YAML quick build playlist for one variant of each mech? do most people even play vanilla? still useful and very nice video!
Yeah, most people play vanilla since there's a steady flow of new players.
I'll leave YAML to other content creators. I don't do modded content.
With the Jenner I don't really change too much. The extra weight saved lets you add ecm and some more jump jets or a supercharger and not much more. Maybe and extra srm2 to go with the 4. Anything else ends up being too hot or too heavy.
Jenners are great
They look a little odd, but I like them.
The Lyran Commonwealth might want to make a better counter to the Jenner than the Wolfhound.
Wolfhound normally smokes the Jenner in my experience you have to play it different though.
