Thank you so much for this! I was so lost when I looked at the chart but you made everything really simple and easy to understand. Because of you I was able to save hundreds on hiring someone and instead fix my own machine!

Best and most through videos I've seen on this machine. There are a lot of complaints about machine either agitating but not spinning. Please make a video about this repair.

Thank you. This helped. When I got to # 9 the water pump tried to start but would not. After removing the pump I found a sock in the water pump.

Apparently, positions 5 through 11 are just test modes so you can see how it operates. You can open the lid and watch if you take the magnet off the lid and just set it against the lid sensor.

These new washing machines are just junk. My GE washer just blew a ceramic capacitor. I called GE and they said they would not sale or give the ceramic capacitor number where I could just replace it. They would sale me a whole circuit board for $142.00. The ceramic capacitor on e bay would be about 25 cents if GE would have given me it number code. Thanks GE

When i do this, i can get into the service mode, however, the washer is stuck on drain....Which is the problem to begin with, i found my washer in the morning, going, stuck on drain. The lid 6 times method did not work. THIS is the second time this problem has occurred, somehow fooling around with the service model before, worked. If i recall actually, somehow pressing the start button and holding it, seemed to have made it work again, while playing around for hours in the service mode---But than again, that may not have been the trick that made it work again. I know, confusing to understand what i am saying. This a 3 year old GE machine

Anyway to adjust the water level on these hydrowave washers? My level seems low. Ran a service mode check and everything is functioning properly with no error codes.

We have a model GE WJRE5550H1WW, I don't think we have a position one. It seems we go straight from the Zero initial position with all 5 lights on to position 2 where we only have the soak light on. We never see position One with model codes lights. If we are not skipping position one then we are only seeing the soak light on in position one. But I think we are actually in position 2 when we see the soak light on which would indicate a slow pump. Also we see the rinse light on in position four which indicates the flow meter.
Our symptoms are that we do not spin or agitate. The washing machine fills up and drains but never spins or agitates. We checked the belt and it seem. We check the continuity in the lid switch and it was good. We blew out the water level sensor tube even though it was very clean. Could a "slow pump" error and a "flow meter" error cause our washer not to agitate and not to spin?
    Thanks!

My GTWN4250D1WS beeps when filling even with the lid down, then won't spin or agitate. Although I would expect there to be a problem with the lid switch (which I replaced to no avail), the field service mode reveals a thermistor error code. How can that possibly be?

I have a 1 1/2 year old GE washer GTWN4250D1WS model. Open the lid and the tub is leaning to the left. If you move it, it goes right back to the leaning position which sounds like it is touching the apron. Please help me repair it. Sometimes while doing clothes water will come out from under washer. Is this because it is out of balance?

Soak and wash lights are on in position 2. Any idea what that means? Is that thermistor and slow pump? The washing machine is getting stuck in the wash cycle. It will drain the tank but never advances to the rinse cycle. The pump just keeps running. Pump appears to be working well when it does pump. Model GTWN4250D1WS. I would really appreciate your help!

@@theapplianceman Thanks for your help! I reset the errors, tried to run a full wash cycle, and then checked the error codes again. I'm just getting thermistor error now. In field service mode I ran each check and everything functions properly. But when I try to do a complete wash, it gets to the wash cycle, completes it, tries to go to the rinse, but then jumps back to the wash cycle again. Any idea if this is consistent with a thermistor error?

We bought one of these hydro wave washer/dryer sets second hand and first thing I noticed was the amount of water is definitely not the same. I let that go just because of the "less water" thing I read on about this washer but the second thing that stuck out to me was how slow the agitation is on the washer. If I have to listen to my wife complain about how crappy this washer is im gonna go crazy! Is it normal for this washer to agitate so slowly compared to a normal washer?

I cured the water level problem by spraying tire foam on the off tubing the goes from the bottom of the tub to the pressure switch behind the water level control.
You could also just replace it with a better quality tubing.
Sometimes soap slim gets clogged in there and you have too clean it out with a pipe cleaner.
GE should be ashamed for putting out poorly designed headaches like this.
I leave the front panel off permanently because I know I'll have to be in there again soon for something else.
It's like it's haunted , as soon as you fix one problem another shows up..
It's also easier to get the clothes out without the front panel.
You can get just a little closer when grabbing stuff out of the bottom.
You can also see the water level without opening the lid.

@@aaronsmith5433 Thank you. Same here. Going to try this. I’ve watched many videos and low water level seems to be attributed to that pressure tube. At least in the GE washer.
