I paid about $30 for a 6s for my daughter. Yeah, battery sucks, but it got her iMessage and Facetime, and it helps that not too many modern social media apps work on it.
You can still get the battery replaced in that particular iPhone...there's a shop in my area that does it...that's proof of how many people still use that phone.😊😊
I have my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB for 8 years now as my only main phone. I am still using it everyday and I still will be using it for the next few years. This phone is tough both software and hardware. Thumbs up 👍!
I own a regular size 6s. I had the battery replaced last year to use it as a work phone and the experience on it is still great ! I can use it all day long for light stuff like emails, messages, phones… too bad a lot of apps are no longer supported on iOS 15 (like google translate which I use a lot in my work) but you can replace most of them with the web browser and the mobile websites.
The Galaxy S7 edge released shortly after, only had 2 years of updates (Android 8.0 released in 2017) and 90% of the applications are still compatible. While the iPhone 6S with these 5 years of updates (iOS 15 released in 2021) can no longer install most applications ...
Unfortunately thats on developers dropping support for older firmwares, like i have iOS 16.5 on one device and its already being dropped in favor of iOS 17
Using one right now, gonna add a iPad Pro 2015 along side it for Christmas, still nice devices I’d say for my uses, once they stop running RUclips and loading the sites I need and the chatting apps I use, then it will be time to sell them off, pretty fine for 10 years old, even battery life is fine, just gotta put your expectations in the right place, this phone impressed me greatly, completely stoked my Samsung tablet from 2017, given it was a budget model, but it did run stuff quite good until 2021, stuff got too much for its socs capabilities, and even modern budget samsung tablets are plain awful to the point they can’t run their own ui without lagging
I used my 6s plus for a few days when I broke my old 13, it was okay other than as soon as it got cold it immediately stopped working completely. Using an se3 now and absolutely love it
My 8 Plus is my home streaming phone. My daily driver is a Refurbished 13 Pro whose battery I don’t want to abuse. Never had any of the 6 series, just a 5s before the 8+. My first was a Refurb 3GS through a Family Plan.
There's nothing wrong with that great looking iPhone 6s. The reason it shuts off at 50% battery is it needs a new battery. My phone did the same and got a new battery for it and problem gone. 😎
For a lot of people this phone will still br good enough as a main. Obviously due to its age it will definitely need a battery replacement but after that it should be fine and also keep on battery saver mode which should easily bring u through a full day. How much the battery lasts depends on the user of course.
also, you should consider replacing the battery if u want to use this phone more. It isn't too difficult and batteries are cheap. You could extend the lifespan of this phone a LOT.
I’m on a 7 yr streak with my iPhone 8 plus. Serviced battery myself in 2022. Stopped at IOS 16.7 update. I’m planning to replace it in 2025 just coz some work apps require security updates.
This was my first iPhone. I still have it. Almost thought about switching back to it, but the battery is awful and the 32GB storage is basically unusable. I'd give it an honest shot as a way to scale social media use down, but that battery thing is a deal breaker. Apple won't even do a battery upgrade anymore for that model, and I heard a lot of horror stories about 3rd party battery upgrades. I love the concept though.
I mostly bring my iPhone 6s+ to school because I know it'll be dead in like 1 hour so I just bring it to spend less hours with the phone (I know how weird sounds all this but it makes total sense in my head)
I think battery die on 55% because you be on cold, old phones really love die on cold, i use samsung s8 and he too die from freeze even on -5C on street when i call someone(
Well, my conspiracy theory is this: planned obsolescence. It could be a bogus battery but even if you had the original, this phone doesn't work well with 4G in a 5G world.

good decision since she can't use it for very long at a time because of the battery
0:55 It's 3D touch btw
He knows. We all make mistakes. You know what he meant.

@@iamfmos Why are people so sensitive? It feels like we can't even correct anyone anymore lmao
Batteries for the 6s are on Amazon. Comes with the tools to swap out battery. I'm still using one, and the battery lasts for over 24 hours.

But the Galaxy S7 edge has a backdoor methods to get new versions of Android like lineage OS

0:36 oh those times I miss my hair too 😂
Haha! So much hair gone in the blink of an eye 😂
Just swap the battery. They are still amazing phones.

I had a iPhone 6. I loved it.
Plus doesn't only have a bigger battery but also OIS which works pretty well.
it had a headphone jack. so it's better than all phones from that point on

you can change the battery very easily

Ive got the 6s and it’s not great but it works and that’s what i need.

Just bought an 8+ to test it out!
Your battery was knackered… a new battery can be had for very cheap and replaced yourself. Absolutely worthwhile on a device with ~80% health
Are genuine and good batteries for these hard to find?

On ios 15, 3d touch is not what it used to be since Apple sadly removed some old 3d touch features like peek and pop. Still cool to see though.
I just wish i took good care of mine, I really loved the 6s way too much
I love your message at the end thx
i thought of buying a 6S or 6S plus incase my main phone is getting fixed. but mostly to collect
a friend of mine uses a 6s plus to this day
I'm still using my 6plus! Hoping to replace it next year with a xs max
I am responding to you from a XS Max! Been using it for a few days so far and I’m in love with it
