I never tire of this. I sang the tenor line at school. I’m now 72 and I still love it. It is so simple. I was surprised to learn it was a late work. Humanity at its peak in adoration. I understand every word. It brings me close to God and Heavan.
It is written: Psalm 92: 1 "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, 3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound."
It’s AMAZING how human voices can create such beautiful and heavenly sound. Well done to all the singers and musicians on here and the conductor too, including everyone involved. Glory to our Heavenly Father in the name of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus! 😇🙏
The ave verum is so beautiful!!! Mozart is fantastic. My parents told me, that this had been a part of their wedding ceremony! So I decided to take it as well!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

We are rehearsing this now for a performance next week, and it’s amazing the difference in feeling when you sing your own part (tenor in my case) alone, no matter how accurately in tune, and singing together with the other voice parts. Of course, this is common to most music, but seldom so profoundly as for this piece.
I had this piece performed at my wedding last year. I specifically asked the conductor to slow down the tempo as this piece sounds a lot better when performed at true adagio, like the way this conductor does here.
