Design us a good hiking tee shirt Scotty
“You do you and I’ll do me….” Such good advice! 🌀♥️🌀
Common sense isn’t so common in today’s generation.
Thanks for the video. I am a professional eater that started his channel like that now I am doin' survival videos as well and definitely not professional at it. Appreciate your video and your help
Just subbed and that is crazy you can eat that much. Good luck on your next survival videos, watching the first season now
This was extremely helpful as there were several quality bits of kit that I can integrate quite well. Many thanks for the hard work you do Mate, well done!!
Great Video and breakdown Scotty, I really enjoyed your last one and watched it recently, Thanks for the update! That little Aperture light is totally what I'm looking for!
Yo I forgot you watched these as well
Omg it's you
Two of my personal legends here. My life is complete.
This is a great gear rundown. I like your semi-minimalist approach to both kit and camping, its a cool combination of traditional and modern techniques and attitudes.
Mate, I love this video! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
I like your style of presentation, it's similar to our Kiwi guys, and so easy to listen to. You use the optimum number of words to say what you want to say and no unnecessary waffling which is superb. I didn't even feel any need to ff, I listened to every word.
I grew up in the 60s and 70s here in New Zealand, with an incredible Dad who grew up in the bush by a lake, so I have a profound appreciation of the quality of your bushcraft gear in particular, especially the leather cases! Your whole kit is stunning, and I like your knife, saw and tinder kit, plus the organiser.
Definitely a fan here, and much respect to you. 🌿
I love tramping in the NZ bush and I too love my full grain leather boots.
Thanks for the great gear breakdown Scotty. Some really good stuff you have and obviously happy with. It's also good to know that you only have the one PLB/GPS, as I wasn't sure if I should have 1 dedicated PLB and 1 dedicated GPS, so now I think I'll be better off having a similar GPS unit that you have instead. Love your work Mate, keep it up.
I like that packing cell idea for the winter gear, easy to throw in when you think you’ll need it.
If not the greatest hiking gear display I’ve seen yet thanks so much for the vid. You’ve got all the basics covered
you got some really great gear, it was nice getting a breakdown of it all. I definitely have a few things added to my backpacking wishlist now..
Love the simple breakdown of the backpack. Thanks for taking the time to film it
Ah yes! I've been waiting for this. That's awesome Scotty, very helpful, thanks for sharing 👍👍
Great video mate! Definitely a few things there that I’ll be looking into.
Looking forward to your next adventure 👌🏼
Another great video mate, always interesting to see other people’s gear.
Cheers
Amazing filming, views, and content thanks for taking us a long scotty
Lots of thought and practical usage in everything you’ve packed. Nicely done.
Great and practical loadout, huge thank you mate. I have been searching youtube for awhile now for a good camping first aid kit. I keep getting US prepping videos which deal mainly with combat wounds (or zombie bites) or the ultra light guys with 2 advil, a bandaid and a emergency beacon which really wouldn't help in our climate. Thanks again Scotty, you've helped me a lot.
Good show, mate! Really like your mindset when it comes to packing, as you said "each to our own" :) Great tips, keep it up 😄👌🏻
"gear is really personal"
I fully agree, I form a bond with my gear especially my knife and fishing gear... But wow. I've never seen such beautiful and personal gear. That tinder kit especially is so unique and beautiful. Everything is well used and it's clear that it's deeply personalized and thought out.
Great breakdown mate, I got a lot out of this video and the the list of equipment and links is unreal. I'll utilise this for sure in my trips and videos and I'm sure you've saved me a lot of time and research, great channel and content, love your work! Cheers
I love watching vids like this. It always helps me with ideas for what i want to carry, thanks heaps mate
Awesome video mate. Thanks for a great breakdown of your gear.
FINALLY ! I see you hit 100k Scott! Congratulations on that. Keep up the good videos and I’m hoping to see more of it soon. Definitely one of my biggest outdoor idols by far and short to say you are one of my best influence going on outdoor adventures. Bless you brother. Greetings from Malaysia. 😄
Really enjoyed this video Scotty, you put a lot into it and I’d like to say thanks. I gleaned so great info from you about gear, of course the majority of your is tailored to Australia and your hiking needs but never the less hiking no matter where has a lot of common ground. I was particularly interest in the brands that you use because you’ve chosen wisely and through personal experience items that are durable and with weight in mind of course. Got my like and sub, thanks again. 👌
Love the set. Only thing you need is a thin 5v. solar panel with auto reconnect when going in and out of shaded areas. Comes in handy and can charge a 5,000mah portable battery while out hiking for 4-6 hours.
That spice pouch and bushcraft knife kit looks really smart!
I saw those kits and was like, Ooooh, me likes. You can’t go wrong with leather. 😊😊😊
Wow Scotty, well-done mate, your kit is so so admirable, and your video-making skills, both capture quality & production... Wow! So so impressed with this super helpful admirable setup video =) cheers.
Nice one - sweet setup. Bluetooth speaker is a great idea. I got a JBL clip on so I can listen to tunes while hiking. Came in handy on the weekend when I did the Cooloola Great Walk solo (90km). Love the Vanquest too - I got one after seeing your last load out video, so good! Cheers - keep up the great vids.
Solid looking kit, thanks for sharing. Love the leather spice case.
Great set and great review ! Thank you very much!
Great video mate. So good to see a talented local doing well! Keep it up!
Great Vid, Awesome to see someone plugging Aussie brands 👍. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Scotty.
Great load out video mate.
Some great gear. Lots of information. Hope all is well.
👍🍺🇦🇺❤
Great video mate. I just bought myself a Garmin 66i too for the same reasons as you; peace of mind and reasonable back up mapping.
Awesome set up Scotty! Keep up the good work👍
Also, I’ve heard both an Australian SAS instructor and also the author a ‘The survival medicine handbook’ say that eye protection is one of the most important pieces of kit to have in the bush
PMSL 🤣😂🤣😂😃😂🤣
That's really light! Great gear, thanks for the info. 🙏🏻
Great to see your trusty Vanquest organiser is will going strong. I bought the same one in black after I saw it on your channel and I've never looked back 😁
Thanks for doing another "what's in my" video 👍
Absolutely love my Katmandu rain jacket! I have the same one and it's been with me everywhere
Thanks for your recommendations of gear and brands...a huge help, as I'm not a fan of shopping at your typical camping store chains...
And supporting Aussie brands is a bonus..
Bro the photography and camera angles are so cool I wanna camp in places like that wow
"You guys do you and I will do me" Love it!!!
Thanks for lugging that extra 3.3kg for us! Totally worth it.
Great video Scott, really enjoyed it.thank you.
Brilliant breakdown. The Fjallraven gear is excellent. Scarpas outstanding boots , wore mine to the inner 🤦♂️ Like the leather bits , nice craftsmanship.
Love your videos. Can't wait for the next one!👌👍
Love to see what others carry and how they use and plan for using their gear, as you said it's all personal but some great little tips in here
Thanks mate!
Thanks for sharing. And for the huge effort you put into your great vids.
Great video Scotty. Love the spice pouch!
I really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing your gear mate! greetings from Colombia, South America
probably one of the best gear videos, ty
Nice one Scotty, some nice thought out kit there. Those quilts look pretty interesting, hopefully they are available in an olive green.or brown. I haven't seen that PLB before either so will check that out. Cheers, Gordo
Really digged this walkthrough of your gear. I was close to getting the Sawyer filter you had before, but I can appreciate the benefits of the new one you're rocking. Wife and kids just got me my first proper flanny for my birthday, keen to get some wear out of it in winter. Impressed by how light your kit actually is, 9kg on the bottom isn't too bad without film. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing, bud. Ivan.
Great video! I love watching other people’s gear videos 👍🏼
Scotty.... nice kit!! Thanks for sharing. Ax
I love that quilt with the foot box. I'd probably be better off with that rather than a sleeping bag because that's how I use my bag anyway. 😃
Hell yeah I just suggested this last night. I knew you were listening ❤️
I’m a sucker for a good gear loadout video! Enjoyed!
Very detailed, great video!
Protip for the shirt. Don't look at a hiking store. Go to a sports store and check out the gym and fitness shirts. They have a variety of fits and it's all polyester for when you get sweaty.
Thanks for the video, gave me a couple of good ideas.
this is an awesome guide and also i think i learned like 6 survival things i had no idea about already :p
Thanks mate. Great break down.
The best Rucksack walk thru I’ve seen.
Nice job, you had me at Johnny Cash!!
Cheers, some really good stuff to pickup in your loadout.
Love that you mention the heritage aspect of the Akubra
I'm only 1:40 in, and I love the pack! Very nice for the bush.
I will comment again at the end of the video, and I am already a fan and a new subscriber. 😁
From a Kiwi Nana to the Aussie Bloke. 👍🏿
Nice seeing the difference and similarities from someomene on the other side of the world. Cheers for the US!
I was hoping for one of these videos from you great vid mate
Always looking at new gear. Finding Aussie made stuff at competitive price is even better. Slowly converting over glad I found Alton goods & guys like u who review it because u use it. Cheers mate
Alton gear is awesome, but made in China.
👋Scotty, great vid , I appreciate all you go through to make videos👋
Always enjoy these when they aren't click bait as f'ck, so cheers for this one :)
thanks for the list in the description!
Scotty,
The thing I’m most impressed about is how good your knees are that you can squat like that and talk at the same time. I’d be in too much pain
Very cool just bought the hat in Winton loving the history of the brand cheers
Bad ass video! Love the gear and description
Always curious about your gear now I know. Thank you
Thank you for showing us your kit. I was wondering about your air beds and sleeping bags
Loved the video!
I love your hat, the feather gives it that touch 👌
Great information! Thank you for sharing.
Great ideas for kayak camping, love the knife , tinder kit, organiser , akubra ,
Thanks Waratah , uuroo!
We really appreciate the 3.3kg you lug around for our benefit!
Gotta say, I don't think I've ever seen anyone rock an Akubra the way you do!
Incredible video! thank you so much
This kit is wonderful, thank you so much for sharing with us, I am really impressed with your organised system. The only advice I would give is if any one does happen to fall and have a suspected broken bone, please remember not to take nurofen, as a former sports medic, any anti inflammatory medication taken results in most hospitals delaying surgery until your body would have processed the pain reliever as it can both impact bleeding and also anaesthesia. Unfortunately in those instances its better to not take those meds until you receive medical help.
I have one camp pot/pan for cooking food and a metal cup for my hot drinks and sometimes cold drinks. The pot and pan are a combo deal... the pan is the top for the pot and a pan as well. The pot, pan and cup all have fold in handles for packing it away. So I do go with metal for all, to put it over or in the fire for cooking/heating. For drinks that are not hot, I do like to have a bottle or a thermos with cup top for that.
Well versed and tested kit load out mate. Good choices.
G’day from Brissy mate. Love the Alton Goods gear, I use a bit of their gear too. Next on the list is a Korr knife. Love the videos, your editing is amazing. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for bringing that extra camera weight for us!
I love that you include a plb
Great video and great gear!
Silky is my brand for folding saws. I started out with cheap folding saws from Canadian Tire store (I'm in Canada) and they don't cut near as good and didn't stay in good condition long. My Silky saws are F180 Pro (fits in my pocket) and BigBoy Pro (for bigger jobs). I love them!
Really love your videos Scotty!
Awesome looking setup, like your style bro
Great review!🔥🔥thanks 👍🏻
Nice vid man. I use a lot of the same stuff in the Rocky Mtns
I've been wondering what's your loadout looking like since you upgraded your pack and stuff.
Thanks for the awesome video scotty!
I've got the mh10 Ledlenser head torch and although it is nice and bright and lasts a while I'm just not a fan. Lots of little things wrong with it. Your mh8 seems way better
Cheers
