- On February 23, 2022, dispatch received a call about an altercation involving a handgun. As officers approached the described location, they discovered an injured woman, who was soon pronounced unalive. Meanwhile, another team of officers pursued the fleeing suspect. The officers attempted to locate the gun that the suspect had used. The victim's best friend and another witness told the detectives everything they had seen earlier. She described Steven’s behaviour right before the incident. Later that day, officers warned the man about the consequences of losing his gun. The man was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated fleeing from an officer, and tampering with evidence.

When I regained some of my senses the first thing I did was go for my gun. I felt life wasn't worth living. Luckily my lifelong friend showed up. He saw what I was doing and slapped me in the face and said, Pull yourself together, Your other son needs you to be strong.. Thank God I have one true friend .

one of the worse things about being in the medical field is having to treat all injuries, even of the most heinous of humans. This guy is overwhelmingly reprehensible.

I agree! I also worked in healthcare. We treated one woman who had all the bones in her face broken for the second time by her husband. She tried to tell us it was an MVA. But we could see by the look on her friends face that that wasn’t true. And when I pulled up the records from her previous visits we could see that he had beaten her just the same about two years prior. She finally admitted what happened. And we’re mandated reporters so called the police despite her objections. And I don’t blame her for objecting. I’m sure she was afraid of the repercussions, but we have no choice. He was arrested. I don’t know what the outcome was because we’re not privy to that information. But I sure hope she got away from him.

Because if anything isn't found to be completely on the up and up, then it can cause him to not serve as much time or none at all. They can't make it look like they treated him differently. It's the reason they are usually extra good about making sure the really bad ones are not in pain or uncomfortable, etc. sucks, but it usually makes sure they can't get out due to police abuse or some crap

On ladt Christmas Eve 2023, my niece was wrapping last minute presents on her bed. Her husband shot her in the head with a rifle. She turned her head just right and the bullet hit the top back of her skull...She survived. He sat watching her die while his 9 yr old called 911. He said she did it herself. My niece had the fortitude to put her phone on record when he walked into the room everything was recorded including the cops interaction. He was not arrested on the spot, he was buds with the local small town cops.. He was able to call her medical shots for 10 days . He wouldn't let her parents in for fear she would wake up. Now we know he has abused her for years. Please girls , get away from anyone who hits you even once. Trial is pending.

Sadly it’s when women are trying to leave that it’s the most dangerous. They have to have a plan. They have to have everything prepared. And then they have to leave while he’s not there and never let him know. And don’t let anybody know where you are.

I have a stalker and it’s scary. He pretends to be very quiet in front of others and then, harass me . His behavior it’s scary. Today I express again to him to leave me alone. I pray he does. The sad thing is ; police don’t take it seriously until something like this happens to women.

That sounds really scary and frustrating. My only advice: Do NOT let anyone convince you that you're overreacting. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you're being dramatic, or that what you're going through isn't a big deal--those people aren't looking out for your best interest. Don't engage your stalker at all. Don't be alone with the stalker EVER. For a lot of women who end up assaulted (or worse), there is a moment where the woman KNOWS she's in danger. Don't be one of those women who ignores that voice inside. That voice is your intuition, and it's trying to keep you alive. And, if the police are acting like this is no big deal, just go directly to the Clerk of Court in your town, and ask about how to file a restraining order. You don't need police help to get in front of a judge and tell your story. Stay safe.

My Granddaughter at 17 met a young man who wooed her relentlessly, she finally decided when he began going to church that he must truly love her - 1 yr later, not long after they had a son together - by then she knew he had lied to her, he would pull her hair, hit her head, etc, she was scared to tell her parents, but they somehow knew, she went home to live with them, they made sure she was never alone, one night after her Dad left for work her brother had a littlecar accidentso wasn'tthere as soon as expected), he kicked in the door, the police got there so fast thank God for good neighbors watching out - they literally pried his hands off her neck - he ended up running from them, stole a police car, tried choking a female officer, led them on a wild chase through Seattle, and I'm happy to say because of what he did to the POLICE he's received several years, but NOT for what he did to my Granddaughter!!! She thought she could help him, she was so forgiving and naive - UNTIL she began to realize what his actions were doing to her little guy - then she got mad, got wise, told his friend when he began texting her that her ex never meant to hurt her, blah blah blah - she told him "you tell that piece of filth that if he EVER comes near me or(her son) again, she'll shoot him cold stone dead, I've got my carry license, I'm going to the range 2×s a week, and if he even tries to do anything else and if any of his friends try to bother her again, he's a dead man walking - they ended up moving somewhere his friends couldn't find herto harrass her, and life is peaceful once again!!! Poor innocent girls who get caught up with someone who they see as needing their kindness and support, almost cost her her life!! I know others think she probably was in on his "extra curricular activities" - she was just naive and young, he was her 1st (and only) boyfriend - now she's a Mom and doesn't date because she's protective of her little boy, I'm so grateful she's careful, Im so grateful she's with us watching her little man growing up, and I'm especially grateful for a heavenly Father who got the police there in under 2 minutes to save her life - just because she thought she saw something good in that evil piece of nothing she could have died, young ladies - PLEASE - BE WISE😢!!!!!!!
Understand. Please be sure to carry sharp backup weapons not requiring a license. Keep cans of Bear Spray handy like fire extinguishers. They are EXTREMELY effective at close range should one need. Baseball bats, defense jewelry and tasers for personal space invasion. Be creative!

Ladies never stay in an abusive relationship. Leave town if you have to, as for her friend she should have gone to the police and help her leave. My daughter got into an abusive relationship... thankfully it was short lived and she got out of it quickly.
Unfortunately the emotional abusive one was harder to get her to see and leave behind.
She finally did but he is still texting and calling her. She says she won't give him a second chance but ... she's in her 30s. We talk about it but I don't want to harp on it and push her away. Being a parent is the toughest job I've ever had. I grew up on a farm and I'm a retired paramedic... yup, toughest job ever had.

My cousin was killed by her boyfriend he shot her after a disagreement she called her mom to come pick her up and begin walking to a different location to meet her mom and by the time her mom got there which was literally 15 20 minutes when she arrived on the scene the police told her that she was taken to the hospital with a gunshot ....LEAVE THESE MEN the act that kills you is not the FIRST VIOLENT act.

If you witness your friend being assaulted in an abusive relationship, and they can’t - or more usually won’t - leave their partner, go to the police and make a report. You’ll be more of a friend if you actually take practical steps to help them, rather than just ineffectually listening to all their repeated complaints over and over again, changing nothing. They might not like you anymore for getting the police involved, but you’re doing it to save their life; even if they’re ungrateful, they’ll still be alive.
Yeah I lost a friend because I called CPS when she refused to leave her abusive boyfriend. He is the father of one of her kids and showed me the bruises of what he did. I took pictures. She was already ordered that they weren't supose to be together but she didn't follow through so I called CPS and reported it. I couldn't make her do what's best for herself but I could make sure those kids were safe. If he's willing to do it to a woman, he will do it to kids. Like I said we aren't friends anymore but from what I know, they aren't together anymore and she is dating a nice guy. Can't confirm but I hope it's true.

So much trash in this world. He sure acted all big and bad against his girlfriend with a gun. But in typical fashion with someone like that when real men show up all of a sudden he hurried up and did what he was asked to do. He can rot but I feel terrible for her family.

Her friend was a great witness. Heartbreaking that the victim was abused for so long & murdered, and she no doubt tried hard to get the victim to leave this monster, but it’s really hard to do. In the end, all she could do was be there for her as she died & make sure her murderer faced justice - although I never understand why first or second degree murder isn’t mandatory life with no parole?
Next time you, a law abiding citizen, with medical insurance that you pay for, are sitting in the ER room, keep in mind, people like this are being treated, for free, with your tax dollars, while you’re suffering. Because America.
