    Not all of us have 3D printers, so I'd definitely buy a couple if i could find them on ebay or something

    You literally rescued that design. Seriously that’s awesome. I couldn’t own that airside gun without that modification

    Yea..They didnt insert effects back then. Cameron wanted the weapon that produced the most muzzle flash..So the Thompson was chose.

      They also looked at the MP5 because it looked more futuristic to begin with but couldn't produce anywhere near the levels of muzzle flare with a 9mm cartridge, so the idea was scrapped and they ended up with a WW2 gun that still looks futuristic by modern standards and impressively the Pulse Rifle was designed by Cameron himself, not a specialist designer or movie armourer. The Tommy Gun drum mag is also where the impossible 95 round capacity came from. The M1A1 has a 100-round drum mag option, but soldiers used to only load it to 95 for increased reliability (so as to not over compress the spring, exactly as UK soldiers only used to load 28 rounds into 30 capacity mk1 SA-80 mags). Cameron wanted this but without the bulk of the drum, so used a shortened box (or stick) mag that fit inside the shroud and 'hollywood magic' to increase the capacity of the weapons.

    It looks really good. I like the idea of the hole and how you made it. Looks a lot easier than what you normally have to do with cutting a hole in the bottom of the base plate for the mag. Would like to know if you finalized the design cause I would love to make some of those myself.

    You could make more of those and sell them on Amazon or Ebay. The front angle is about 5 or 10 degrees to steep.

    I know this is a year late, but can you sell these on Etsy. I would buy a few. That is an annoying feature on this pulse rifle.

    I did this mod with the EXISTING parts of the gun itself. make a hole at the bottom of the cover to be able to use the wheel on the mag and use rubber spacers around it.

    I'm mostly trying to find out how to load the darn magazines, but this is awesome. One thing that would be great is a print file to make the channel for the magazine extend to the bottom of the mag well. Right now you have to fiddle to find it.

    Would it be possible to have a smaller battery for the ammo counter? I dislike it sticking out the bottom of the rifle.

    Hi there,
    Do you sell the 3d base plate bits for the magazines?? I recently bought one lf tbese 2nd hand and the original cover clips need repairing and would rather put one of these that you designed on instead👍
    Appreciate any reply as looking to buy ASAP
    Cheers👍

      I don't, unfortunately, but if you go on Cults3D, you can have an STL you select printed and posted to you for a fee. I think that's probably your best bet. In all fairness, a professional service will probably do a better job than I could 🙂

    I'd like to buy one of your 3D printed magazine base plates. Are they available for purchase?

    • @SteamGeezerUK
      @SteamGeezerUK  8 месяцев назад +1

      I don't sell them, unfortunately, but the design is available for free and there are commercial printing services who will print it for you and post it to you for a small fee.

      I printed mine using eSun's PLA+, which is pretty much what I use for everything. I suppose you could use ABS, but I've never tried it myself@@OCDisMe
