The scary thing about Oryx is that we killed him in a weakened state. If you read the lore he did some absolutely absurd things. When we killed Crota, we cut off a significant part of his tribute and yet even in that weakened state, he was able to attack the vex across the numerous timelines that they existed in in our solar system. It got to the point where the Vex couldn't find a timeline where they could survive against Oryx. Which is why they needed outside intervention from us and sent an old vanguard signal from praedyth to have us clear out the taken infecting the Vault of Glass And yet even at oryx's peak in power, Rhulk was unfathomably more powerful than him, which makes him even more terrifying.
What’s even more funnier is that in the raid Rhulk could’ve killed us at any moment going all out but was super arrogant and didn’t go all out till last stand

Just had a thought. In the lore Savathun and Xivu Arath have permanently died before, but were brought back by Oryx (Savathun was brought back in an act of trickery and cunning. Xivu Arath was brought back from an act of war and bloodshed). What if... WE bring Oryx back. Think about it, we the Guardian have been all over the place, past oresent and future too, we've explored forgotten or uncharted territory. WE explored, WE navigated. Savathun said the Taken King will rise again, whether that was truth or not, we've currently got Oryx crlorpse in some Vangaurd vault. What if, in an act of exploration, whether intentionally or not, WE bring back Oryx, The Taken King
Thing is, you need to embody that which you wish to return, and actively conjure them back. Oryx had to trick and wipe out an entire race to gain the necessary power to return his siblings, and they were far weaker then than Oryx was when we killed him. We have serious power under our hands, but Oryx was that of discovery, the wayfinder. We have discovered a lot, but I doubt we could tribute all that to Oryx and have it be enough to bring him back. Heck I don't even think all the journeys Drifter's been on could come close to resurrecting him. I think unless we bring him back in the Light, Oryx is dead for good. Also, to peak behind the curtain, they probably won't bring him back due to his VA situation. They're _very_ close to the chest about who he was. And it's been eight years. I doubt they still have contact with him, and if they do, I don't think they'd bring him back. Sure, they could recast. But I think it's too much effort on their part and too much of a story upheaval. They're balancing Savathun, the Witness, Xivu Arath, and (not really) the Worm Gods. And we know how much Bungie hates actually having to do a ton of work. Also Oryx is Iconic. His design. Personality. Lore. Especially Voice. Even if they did bring him back; the dev team, the universe, the writing, the story, heck even us, everything has grown past him. I feel it's best we leave Oryx to rest. As heartbreaking as it is, best to let him have his perfect act, and let the rest of the series be his encore.
He probably wouldn't remember us, since... well he would become a Guardian (from what I understood from the Dungeon and what was gonna happen to him, but I might be wrong about this). But, the though that DEEP inside his mind still would live that anger and hatred for us, that even if he don't remember us the first thing he would do is try to kill us is amusing. No matter if it is a new life for him, his hate for us will never dissapear.
