Once Emily finally found out that Draper was not Kirk from mind games Molly, she no longer could claim innocence. By keeping the seceret, she deprived not only Draper of the truth of his existence (wife, newborn daughter, friends, career, etc.),but the people in his life as well, especially April & Julia. She exposes herself for the totally selfish person she truly is, by deciding to actively deny the truth and continuing to amorally subvert it, and to not take the responsible, correct course of action. To be fair, her father, the deceiving Dr. "Guilt" & Molly the home wreckers' happy helper, created the monster that Emily became, by insulating her from reality in her fragile bubble existence for those 10 long years, after her mother's death and Kirks abandonment of her. Having said all that, my hat is off to the amazing actress Margo McKenna, superb acting in this role!!
Agree wholeheartedly. A few months ago I started a Love of Life group on Facebook and discovered that soon after that show's cancellation she moved onto EON this Emily character who is evolving into the anthesis of her butter wouldn't melt in her mouth Betsy character on LOL. I couldn't watch EON first run since not only was it hard to find in my area but was busy pursuing college and work commitments. I have several members who watched EON back in the day and they provide insights. Not to spoil it for everyone here who hasn't seen it but what Emily did - with a little help from a friend - indirectly caused the death of an innocent woman and a slimly man who was an aspiring employer, injured another man and nearly killed two women. Originally my plan was just to hunt down the episodes during Emily's storyline but I think I'm gonna stay watching - enjoying many of the characters: Mike, Nancy, Geraldine, Logan, Deborah, Calvin, Cliff, Miles, Nicole, Derek and......LA RAVEN! La Raven - tough as nails and steel on the outside but occasionally lets a fragile, vulnerable inside float to the surface momentarily - never a dull moment in a Raven scene!
For some reason, I hadn't realized just how good Ann Flood & Forrest Compton (Nancy and Mike) are until this episode. The look on Mike's face when Nancy tells him Draper is still alive is completely believable, and also their visit to Draper in the hospital looks downright real.
Thank you soooo much for the post! I feel sooo sorry for poor Emily! I hope you had a great weekend. :)

Thanks for the Upload 👍 !! This must be before the puppet murder storyline.. XD Gosh.. back when Public payphones has the rotary dial !! XD
It was - but the storyline was just right around the corner.
The great thing about back in the day there were no spoilers!! So we genuinley didnt kno if emily would jump or not!!!!
I'm glad there wasn't social media back then, although I admit I didn't get to see Edge Of Night until sometimes in reruns on USA Network.
No spoilers and no social media. Edge worked for its time!
August 26, 1980 (the day Macaulay Culkin was born)
This is one of the few EDGE episodes where Tony Craig (Draper) didn't have perfect hair - usually there's never a hair out of place on his head.
Emily, pity party for 1. go ahead and jump. I'm sorry I didn't like this character at all. She was a self centered, selfish person.
Up until this point - I too felt very sorry for Emily. She really meant noone harm.
Then she should have taken him to a hospital from the get go !! XD
Sorry Emily but no one on the ground is looking up 😅
