Thank you for sharing. Good times, great beginnings. Lots of credit to the camera men. They had the whole group involved in the filming of this rare concert viewing. Loved the fading in and out of the group. It's become a rarity. I would hire those camera men any day.
Marsalis..?)..
Fascinating gig from a period where we don't have a lot of live video. I'm not so convinced that trying to recreate the record was such a good idea. It seems so strange to have so much going on during a Police show. I'm guessing they were new to this set up at that time. I never liked the foot-pedals, they sound ridiculous. Still, a great document of the transition between a power trio to a the pop phenom of Sychroncity.
Stewart is one of the greatest drummers ever but he had a very bad habit of rushing things live...I'm also wondering did Eric Johnson get his marching band coat from Andy lol
The horns were just a bad idea to begin with, but good lord. Where did they find these guys? The local high school band alternates? Undoubtedly another of Sting’s bad ideas for things to help the Police live, like those stupid foot pedal synths he could never get right, or the Synchronicity tour backup singers. What a shame, cause as a trio they really were badass. Too bad he was the only one who never quite understood that was all they needed.
does any one know the venue and how many people were there? it looks like thousands and thousands. And was this broadcast on the national Chilean broadcaster? How common or rare was something like this?
To think that horns horribly arranged by the bands leader pretty much ruined much of this tour. Play the damn song like the record. Hungry for you is The prime example of trying to rearrange completely brilliant album. Ughh! What saves it, I mean the tour, not that song, is there unbelievable talent.
Def some sound issues & Andy's guitar sounds out of tune at times & the horns, well, enough said. Still, Sting's voice is amazing as always & Copeland is killing it on drums!
Well, they were a hell of a gang, but also Sting has his moments here, especially at the start of "Message in a bottle" with one of his loudest bum notes ever
Utterly hate the brass section c/of the Chops which adds nothing to the police. It’s one of those occasions when Andy and Stewart should have put their foot down instead of being walked all over
Sting and those fucking pedals.....and what’s with the dodgy horns and trumpets? Makes them sound like a second-hand mariachi band. I love the Police but this isn’t one one of their finest moments.
abraxas Well, thank God, they came because, at that moment when I was 9 and saw them on TV, I felt happy. There was nothing going on for us, everything was so dark, formal and boring and this was a breath of fresh air. I felt connected to the rest of the world.

I saw them in April of 1982 in Syracuse NY. Awesome stuff.

Regrettably, no omega man and no darkness. Two of the strongest tracks on maybe the best albums of all time.

Wish I was there...!
Luck to be present in the eighties with the might of the greatest band.. The police
I'm blessed to have been a teenager IN the 80's what a awesome time for music and nice in general

Another excellent upload.Thanks.
These shows were Feb 19th and 20th. I saw them in April 16th.
This would all sound a lot better if it had some of the audience/PA sound mixed in. It’s direct from the board and that makes the horns unlistenable.

Sweet, but damn those horns are so far out of tune it is almost unlistenable. Overall a better show than the one from Gateshead, IMO.
