Thank you. Good to know someone else is paying attention and understands what a great musician she is. And she's having the time of her life. Tony, too
The behind the scenes of this recording just makes my heart melt. I believe it was their first time meeting and Tony just talks about being blown away by Gaga’s beauty and voice. It’s so sweet, and this recording inspired them to create the Cheek to Cheek album together 😍
Don't forget that Tony Bennett wanted to work with Gaga because he saw her as one of the greatest singer in music and don't forget about TALENT. Name a pop star today or new singers in this generation collaborated with legendary Tony? or have a versatile vocals?
@Bergsman100 - Christina does have a great voice, no doubt but Gaga is in a class by herself. Why? because she does more than just sing. She crosses genre's with impunity, grace and excellence, she is in the song writer's hall of fame, she is an excellent classically trained pianist and now she is proving to one day be considered a legendary actress etc, etc.

Jazz is what she has always done best. When I've seen her live... she always sings best when she is singing her slower songs or covers from other artists when is just her sat at the piano. The woman can really sing and people just don't realise it because most of her songs are pop/typical chart music.
AngelOFJustice Giannis Congrats on your opinion :) I said pop//////typical chart music. I didn't say typical pop because it's not however some of her singles have been typical chart songs and that's fine.

Rommel Cabrera You are 100% correct but they buy the music (If you can call it music!) which the record companies have brain washed them to want.
This woman is pure class, I watched the last performance of him with her and even when he slipped up, she never let him look bad. That is respect !! I may not love all her songs ,but I will always love her.
It was Tony who first called her for this 2011 Duets album(it's a collab album where he sings every song with someone different), and the rest is history.
It's the meat dress.. I am her die hard fan, but i did think that all the quirkiness she presented earlier in her career kinda hindered her actual talent to be grasped by the masses..
I've been a big fan of music for many, many years and I've had artists whose work I have loved (Beatles, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, REM, Bruce Springsteen) but none of them ever made music that I really felt and that moved me. Until I started listening to Lady Gaga, I never knew what it was like to have an artist whose music really connects with you and moves you and brings you happiness and serenity when you have bad times. I used to make fun of people who were fanatical about a singer/musician, whatever--like Elvis fans. But, now I don't anymore because I know what that is like. Hearing her music makes me feel better about things.
Richard Arroyo I know. I'm excited. Hey, did you ever see that garbage about her interview on Extra where she is supposedly possessed by Satan? I saved the real interview to my Random Gaga playlist. But, the supposed Satanist video is ridiculous.
Richard Arroyo The haters will do anything to try to discredit her. I've seen a lot of the signs they talk about: Baphomet images, upside down crosses, allegedly using the 666 hand gesture, goat heads, and all that, but I think it stems more from her Black Sabbath influence. Honestly, I don't think she gives much thought to religion, either way. Honestly, I got a feeling from the Applause song and video that she was playing with people, because that song was about how she lives for the support of the Monsters, but I think it was also kind of a screw you to the critics. I think she used some of the darker images to play on the whole "Lady Gaga Stanist/Illuminati" myth.
Yep. Lady Gaga is a genius--quite literally. People take her for granted because of her unique sense of visual artistry and fashion, and they don't really give her music a chance. I've been studying and analyzing Artpop extensively of late. I connected with it right away. I think it's over the heads of those who bash it for it's lyricism and supposed lack of theme because they are way off on that. I think a lot of people just don't understand or get her.
Richard Arroyo What's with LGBT and her? Like the only time I hear about her something about being gay or whatever goes with it. Is it because she is so eccentric? I know she supports them but lots of artists do.
Lady Gaga is bringing Tony Bennett back to life and in the public spotlight like nothing I have ever seen yes he is with the symptoms but she's making it so much fun and he's feeling like he is 21 years old again
They were actually going to release an album on January 1, 2014, but then the release date was pushed back to March 18 (on my birthday, which I was so excited about). Cheek to Cheek is the upcoming collaboration album by jazz singer Tony Bennett and pop singer Lady Gaga, which was originally scheduled to be released on January 1, 2014. Bennett later confirmed in an interview that the release date has been pushed back to March 2014. However, the album has been delayed until late 2014. -Wikipedia
I saw him on the stage at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio in 1998. It's one of the absolute BEST concerts I've been to. Love Tony! He will be missed, but he lived a long life here.
Lady Gaga, this number is what made me fall in love with you. I felt that if Tony Bennett thought you were good enough to sing a duet with, you were the real deal. Now, fire your manager and quit doing bad movies with failing companies. Warner Bros and all things Disney no longer produce quality. They are failing. You are better that all of them. Do your own thing.
@@AliceLiddellReturns yeah but she passed away shortly after their collaboration, he said he was in awe of her. the three of them would've been amazing together
@@qt3191 Are you kidding? I watched that collab. Amy had a big, big voice and her delivery reminded me of another legend--Billie Holliday. If Tony was in awe of her, he had his reasons.
Lady GaGa is so talented and doesn't deserve any of the hate she gets. She clearly respects the classics (not just 70s and 80s classic rock, but vintage music like jazz too). And this was Mr. Bennett's second comeback, after he did Unplugged in the mid 90s during the alternative rock explosion. He's a living legend too.
This proves that Lady Gaga is a true singer. I'm not really interested in her other work, but my personal opinion is that she only does her popular music only for money. Because masses want that.
if THAT would be possible the world would be full of incredibly rich singers. she has a true talent and - by the way I AM a true little monster - to be neutral it is a talent to produce songs that are known worldwide. And her voice also didnt come from anywhere --> she really loves what she does and I know that and thats why I am such a huge FAN of her ;)

Yes one that most of you haven't heard of but she has also collaborated with people like Lionel Richie. She is Dutch and her name is Trijntje Oosterhuis. Jazz, rock, ballads, funk she can do them all and with amazing style. She also did a concert of Bert Baccarch music with the wonderful Orchest Metropol some years ago. Absolutely amazing and her interpretation of his songs were the best ever. Before Bert passed away he said she did the best versions of his songs. That says it all. She's on You Tube

+Jody-Ann Marriott A beautiful voice to match a beautiful face, tbh she looks so great in this video
Yes she has... ♡
It blows my mind how she's gone from "Just Dance" to this .Then go on to do many other very talented arrangements since this. Performing at the Oscars. Performing for the Queen. Doing A Star Is Born. I'm glad a lot of the older generations are realizing she can sing... really sing, and isn't just a cheesy made up pop star. I'm 31, around her age, and I cannot believe what she has already accomplished. I have NO doubt that when we are in our 60s, 70s 80s, if we make it, she will have become a true and utter Hollywood legend everyone adores.
periodt
She’s an absolute legend, it baffles me that some people still hate on her
and writes all that great stuff too
She will be the new Ella Fitzgerald no doubt about it.
cammiixx anyone or anything that’s great will get hated on, if someone cured cancer there would be an army on twitter saying to cancel them, she a great singer even if those people say otherwise
Lady Gaga blew everyone out of the water that did the duets with Tony. She won. She showed here what an unbelievable singer she is. You can tell he was absolutely blown away by her and that says everything.
This was the moment when my mom changed her opinion about Lady Gaga. She didn't like her because of the weird outfits back then, now she appreciates her artistry and versatility!
lady gaga: *does anything*
tony bennett’s voice in my head: beautiful. thank you
Gaga is not just a pop artist. She is a MUSIC ARTIST! She can literally pull off any genre specially jazz
She is classically trained.
@@scotchwhisky6094 If you can do classical you can do just about anything. A lot of respect for Lady Gaga
She is a true entertainer. Reminds me of Judy Garland.
Hello, how are you doing today?it's nice meeting you here

Give the guy credit...the man still has a great voice for his age...am I right
It was sad watching him struggle to sing one of his famous numbers in a recent video on RUclips, recorded in his home. He is 93 now - who else could sing at all at that age!
@@peakae44 he's 95 now and just did his two amazing farawell shows with Gaga, two nights that NYC will remember forever.
He has a great voice. For any age!
I love how much Tony Bennett is enjoying this. He seems to really admire her. (And who doesn't? But still, she's from a totally different generation from his.)
generation doesn't matter, only the music! :)
Actually, I think Gaga is a bigger fan of his. She adores Tony Bennett.
This is just outstanding.
Old school, with the new school lady tramp
She reminds me of Amywinehouse..RIP.. she did well with Tony Bennett

It's sad that these kind of music doesn't sell much anymore. 5 stars for Tony and Lady G!

they nowadays just wanna hear an offbeat drum with a chant goin... kinda tribal if you ask me

You are 100% correct but they buy the music (If you can call it music!) which the record companies have brain washed them to want.
Don't know about the States but UK and Eu are awashwith good stuff like this
and we are struggling to find audiences.
People who stumble into jazz music by accident often say.." Wow! I thought that I didn't like jazz."
Her articulation and inflections are sensational-completely different than her pop vocals.
You’d always know from the normal songs that she had a voice, it’s just so enjoyable to hear it more without the pop surrounding
RIP Mr Bennett, thank you so much for all the fantastic performances. Fly high with the best of them xxx
She's truly such a lady, oh my god
Lady Gag really is a genuine talent.
I am a die hard heavy metal fan, but men, this is amazing. She really can sing jazz.
song recommendations if u dont mind?
@@troylow6229 Metal has a lot of different sounds (more melodic, more classic, more agressive...). Iron Maiden is a heavy metal classic and I also love a band called Blind Guardian (you will love it if you are into Lord of the Rings and fantasy stuff). If you want something more "agressive" you can listen to some trash (Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax), black or death (death) metal :)
AHAHHAHAHA NO.
Me too. I'm into heavy metal and classic rock, but she's the only pop singer I like.
same same
Just love this video. They both seem to be having so much fun. Tony was right: she is a fantastic jazz singer.
They are having so much fun in each other! Two kindred souls😊
Yes, I agree, she is!
Lady Gaga at her best. What a voice...
he's mesmerised by her energy, it's so sweet
Lady Gaga is such a class act and so of course is Mr Bennet
Tony Bennett said Gaga has the best voice in America the other day in an interview. I believe him.
Rest in peace to the most elegant music in the world.
I think this is her style! It seems she has much more pleasure singing this music.
Karina Belkina.
She probably set out in jazz but realised that she was gonna make no money in jazz now that audiences have been brainwashed into today's crap Pop.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.. Makes sense!
Gaga constantly states how much she loves jazz :) x
I honestly agree.
@@MauriatOttolink Well still she makes the best pop music right now.
She is a complex multifaceted human being and artist and embodies many styles at once. No need to choose just one!
She, like Freddie Mercury, has natural autotune.
Man I swear I see so much of a female Freddie Mercury from Gaga. Such an incredible talent
Wow!! You just nailed it with this comment! Never thought of it, but you are SO right!!
Truth
Radio Gaga (:
Freddie didn;t have natural autotune. He had a presence tha meant you didn;t notice any variances from in tune. HE could hold an audience even if he sand way out of tune. Listen to =Live Aid. He has the whoel crowd in his hands, despite struggling with his voice.
What do you mean by autotone? Not a music person. Lovely duet.
lady gaga actually has a amazing voice! she has in my opinion one of the best singing voices
Amy winehouse is better
They were talking about Lady Gaga not her.
Eat me Amy is better
+stephanie cambell so watch her instead then
Hannah O'Sullivan that's what I did
I'm 73 and lived with Tony Bennett always in the background throughout my life but must admit that I let Lady Gaga as a pop icon just pass me by. This Jazz singing changes everything what a stunning human being!!!
I defy anyone not to be filled with joy after witnessing this piece of art and human interaction. Bless you young lady.

She looks magnificent in this
Can't wait for their album Cheek To Cheek!!!!
me neither
She could not be any happier! Was thrilled for her then, and he couldn't be more complimentary and a gentleman.
Tony and Lady Gaga's chemistry is just so delightful and cute. :)
Gaga was MADE for this type of music.
PotentiallyHarmful well, duh. She’s Italian!
U should see GAGA 5 FOOT 2 her base was Jazz music
Gaga is made for every type of music honey
Thank you Tony for believing in Gaga and for introducing jazz and blues to other generations. God bless your beautiful heart!

Lady Gaga and Tony really did this song proud.
It was Tony who first called her for this 2011 Duets album(it's a collab album where he sings every song with someone different), and the rest is history.
Well... From now on I'm going to take this girl seriously. Great duet!
amazing

I LOVE how she makes Tony feel like the only man in the world. She is a national treasure.

I must live in a cave, or it was the meat dress, but I never realized what a great voice Gaga has. This is exceptional.
Listen to their duet album Cheek to Cheek. Gaga is a living legend. The world finally started tot realize that
Listen to Million Reasons
I never knew who she was
Her usual music isn’t my thing, but respect. The bitch is talented and an original.
It's the meat dress.. I am her die hard fan, but i did think that all the quirkiness she presented earlier in her career kinda hindered her actual talent to be grasped by the masses..
This duet is awesome! Tony was the best! Rest in peace!
I think lady gaga
Should do more music like this she is actually a good singer,
I've been a big fan of music for many, many years and I've had artists whose work I have loved (Beatles, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, REM, Bruce Springsteen) but none of them ever made music that I really felt and that moved me.
I saw that quote. I think the F-word was in there, somewhere, too. LOL It's a good quote.
She brings back classic golden era memories, so versalite, Her voice so perfect as a new york diva in this modern era
Pretty much their finest hour. Gaga really sparked The Master. Viva El Benedetto!

Lady Gaga is bringing Tony Bennett back to life and in the public spotlight like nothing I have ever seen yes he is with the symptoms but she's making it so much fun and he's feeling like he is 21 years old again
@mike stambaugh no one said Bennett needs Gaga's help. However, he is now being introduced to a generation who may never have been exposed to him
lady gaga has a real singing talent, ( NOT THAT I DIDN'T THINK BEFORE) i wish she would sing more songs that show this kind of vocal ability

So very sad to hear his passing. I was lucky enough to see him perform live on stage. Thank you for the good times, Tony; you will be missed dearly.
I saw him on the stage at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio in 1998. It's one of the absolute BEST concerts I've been to. Love Tony! He will be missed, but he lived a long life here.
This was a fun version. This kinda music is perfect for her actually, there is always a little bit of theater involved in the voice here.
She’s a class act.
Legends... Both!
Tony fell head over heels in love with Gaga! Can't blame him. He never performed with a better female vocalist in 50 years, or maybe ever.
what about Amy winehouse
Amy exactly can’t compare them though they’re both great
@@AliceLiddellReturns yeah but she passed away shortly after their collaboration, he said he was in awe of her. the three of them would've been amazing together

It's already done :) Tony B and Lady Gaga released together an album of Jazz songs covers, it's called Cheek to Cheek =)
Best duo for Jazz Music ❤
Lady GaGa is so talented and doesn't deserve any of the hate she gets. She clearly respects the classics (not just 70s and 80s classic rock, but vintage music like jazz too). And this was Mr. Bennett's second comeback, after he did Unplugged in the mid 90s during the alternative rock explosion. He's a living legend too.
Lady Gaga understands the jazz style perfectly. This track is incredible :) they sound amazing together!
I wish she would do some more music like this
This proves that Lady Gaga is a true singer.
And her voice also didnt come from anywhere --> she really loves what she does and I know that and thats why I am such a huge FAN of her ;)
While I agree she can sing, I also think there are hundreds of better singers for this genre.
SteamOverHolland Do you mean that there are better singers when it comes to classic music or pop music?
***** Classic. Pop, I reckon she has one of the best voices. From those I know, of course.
SteamOverHolland I really think that she has one of the best voices in pop music nowadays...that there are better singers in classic is clear ;)
