Every modern kpop artist owns a debt of gratitude to BoA. She started a chain reaction to became the kpop of 2020. If the kpop artists of the 1990's dug the hole that would become the house of kpop, BoA was the foundation. She saved SM entertainment allowing, TVXQ to promote and that led to artists like shinee, rain, snsd and others. She was the only kpop artist that was well known outside of korea in the first couple of years of the new century. Without boa, kpop would still be a regional curiosity.
Lee So Man planned to debut BoA in Japan so that Kpop will be recognized there. And because of her successful debut, it became easy for other kgroups to earn popularity in Japan. So proud of our Queen💜
BoA singlehandedly saved SM from bankruptcy and without BoA there would be no SM today and without SM, kpop wouldn't be as they are today, everyone say thank you to the true legend of kpop, Queen BoA herself 🙇♀️
I have been one of her fans since I found out she did "Every Heart" the ending theme from Inuyasha(the best ending theme for this show) because it was my favorite
BoA is the most legendary idol in the whole Kpop industry! She has done so much for the industry since her debut! And now it’s nearly 20 years ago!!! That’s phenomenal! Without her their wouldn’t exist a SME today and many legendary artists under it would not exist!
I was introduced to kpop by my cousin and EXID’s “I feel good” was the first kpop song that I ever listened to. Through my time, artists like BoA, Ailee, 4minute, T-ARA, KARA, Shinee, SNSD, 2ne1, Super Junior, Miss A, Wonder Girls, SISTAR, AOA, and many more were the hot topics in Kpop. Nowadays, music in kpop is all so similar. I hope new kpop fans encourage their idols’ agencies to produce music like this. New kpop fans don’t know what they’re missing.
Nowadays, I listen to 2nd generation Kpop songs more than the 3rd gen. Brings back the old memories when I used to be a hardcore fan of Kpop, but lay lowed after 3rd generation came. But hey, I love them all.
I lived in Korea from 2001-2002 and BoA was the first artist I ever connected to. Could you do a series on the Kpop group called M.I.L.K? They were from the early 2000's and were my first Kpop crushes! My favorite BoA song is "Atlantis Princess". I still know the entire dance by heart
@@sa5m225 Yeah I was in 4th and 5th grade when I lived in South Korea so my love for Kpop runs deep. M.I.L.K had a song called "Crystal" that was huge back then.
BoA is super talented and dedicated. Speaking 4 languages, spectacular dancer, well polished vocalist, and genuinely pretty. I really like her kind of spunky style that she can also class up. She's the Beyonce of K-pop.
Inuyasha's end song "Every Heart" was my first BoA song. I didn't know she was originally a K-Pop artist until 2011/12. Anime actually is one reason why I am into K-Pop now.
SM = BoA She is the legendary icon for the company indeed. Not all singer can reach her level and staying relevant for 20 years. I remember back then BoA was like Utada Hikaru for Japan and Britney Spears for America. Yes, she is THAT big. Even until now, she stays with SM, holding the share and works as one of the directors while keep making musics just like what she does in GOT. I really like her then and now.
BoA, together with Shinhwa and Fly to the Sky introduced me to Kpop in 2003. I was 12 years old then. Ah, time flew so fast and so many things happened to Kpop. I am so proud to be part of the 1st and 2nd gen of Kpop!
BoA is still precious to me. I was born Korean, and when I revisited in 2005 my foster sister game mer her album Best of Soul. I've played that CD to pieces (it literally broke a few years back).
i honestly don't understand how she's so underrated edit : by underrated , i mean by newer kpop fans and international fans . i only found out about her because of her song, eat you up, playing on my alexa and i got into her, but i had never heard of her before .
I mean BoA paved the way and is she's a role model for everything Kpop artists... She's so inspirational to everyone....She's truely the goddess of Kpop
BoA is the reason why I listen to k-pop now. The first ever K-pop song I heard was "Atlantis Princess" and I have been following ever since. SO many years omg. Now, with me being an artist as well, she's one of my inspirations. Thank you BoA!!!
She's already beautiful before debut. She'a a little bit similar face with Taeyon, though. I think SM has its taste of looks. SM artist should thank BoA and also the entire Kpop industry. She opened way to Japanese, China to Hollywood. I remember she sang with Westlife "Flying without Wings" and I was like "who is she?"
If weren't for BoA Kpop wouldn't be as popular at is it now. Looking at it most idols were inspired by BoA and made them want to be an Idol too. BoA is the real queen of Kpop. She's a Legend.
I thought for a while that Eat You Up was my introduction to kpop, (though Energetic was my favourite from her English album, as I was still very much into nightclubbing in 2009) but it hadn't occurred to me, or maybe I'd forgotten, that Every Heart was her. I graduated from high school that year. Precious memories. I still love her. ♥️
She just celebrated Her 20th anniversary in the industry..and released new MV on RUclips..have you guys/gals check it out..? And yes..i stand for Her from 2000..I know that there are so many great female soloists nowadays..but BoA still My No. 1..love Her 'till the end of time..

BoA was my introduction to Kpop. Saw the music video for Eat You Up here in the US while at the gym back in 2020. Next thing I know, a little while later I'm at an SM Town concert in the Staples Center in downtown LA having the time of my life!
Her and UTADA HIKARU has been my inspiration to make my own music since I was in elementary school they both hold such a special spot in my heart I’m so happy that she’s still rocking it and she’s still hella beautiful, favorite boa song ugh that’s so hard I guess for English it be scream, Japanese is every heart and Korean only one. ❤ such an icon I swear
Thank you so much for making this. Like Key said in the web series he did with her, I will always be happy as long as BoA continues to make music. I would really like to see her push her boundaries a little more as she's been super tame recently, but I won't complain as long as I continue to see her doing what she loves. I hope for many more years of BoA and her music and I'm hoping that 2020 will be the year that I get to finally see her in person.
As someone commented in another video of her "She LITERALLY walked upside down". Says it all. She always knows how to pull you back in whiplash and all 🤩
I came back here after seeing the Girls On Top project, I'm so happy BoA will be introduced to 4th gen fans. She will always be SM's pride and Queen of Kpop ✨

Same, we're blessed to have entered kpop in this way.
Legend says that if you arrive early he greets you
greetings viewer
So It's true haha. Btw love Your videos, thanks for the work you do and making more People know about Kpop!
Songwriter, singer, dancer, model, trilingual: *a whole icon.* Hands down to the queen🥰
Yes she is what you call Legend, even achieving something that no one else able to.
and at an age wherein most of us are like in school, damn
BoA singlehandedly saved SM from bankruptcy and without BoA there would be no SM today and without SM, kpop wouldn't be as they are today, everyone say thank you to the true legend of kpop, Queen BoA herself 🙇♀️
I knew she was iconic but didn’t know she was so important wow oof
-was- *is*
She's more relevant than you
paradisekiss 18 wtf is wrong with you dude who raised you why did you take what I said up the ass ????
I think thats backwards for me.
paradisekiss 18 you have problems lmao
She‘s doing fine. Still a great artist, one of the best and prettiest women from SM and one of only SM’s 2 top production directors.
I first heard of her when I found Eat You Up. That was a LONG TIME AGO
Eldyne Blair same
Same!! and that's how i found ring ding dong and been a shawol since then!!!
10 years later, I'm studying dancing
Eat you up is more than 10 years ago. CRAZY!
Not long enough. 😆 That still feels kind of new to me. I feel old.
Not SM artists, They be going against the mainstream
Talk about the good old days, i feel old😭💎💎💎💎💎
Nowadays, I listen to 2nd generation Kpop songs more than the 3rd gen. Brings back the old memories when I used to be a hardcore fan of Kpop, but lay lowed after 3rd generation came. But hey, I love them all.
MY NAME will always be my favorite song of hers.
Also, her English album is a bop too.
My favourite in that album is Etude
Energetic is my go to work jam 😄
Shauna-Kay Brown I loved “Crazy About” the first time I heard it.
BoA can walk upside down without a problem while I can’t even walk in a straight line without falling over my own feet
For me the first K-Pop song was Eat You Up by BOA, and I remember I was completely blown away by her dancing skills, and still am.
Truly a queen.
The fact that almost all the Girl Group Main dancers I stan has boA as their role model- I RESPECT
i'm not that big of a BoA fan but i absolutely appreciate her music djdjdjs
yo mad respect to her, at a young age she debuted and became succesful!! she is the definitely the queen of kpop, period.
S.E.S, I'm not a old fan. But I want get to know about them.
@@sa5m225 Yeah I was in 4th and 5th grade when I lived in South Korea so my love for Kpop runs deep. M.I.L.K had a song called "Crystal" that was huge back then.
roter13 ahh i love milk! crystal and come to me were really great songs
BoA is super talented and dedicated. Speaking 4 languages, spectacular dancer, well polished vocalist, and genuinely pretty. I really like her kind of spunky style that she can also class up. She's the Beyonce of K-pop.
Just watched "Masayume Chasing" MV and now I'm here. :D
Inuyasha's end song "Every Heart" was my first BoA song. I didn't know she was originally a K-Pop artist until 2011/12. Anime actually is one reason why I am into K-Pop now.
QUEEN BoA!!!
WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH BOA? SHE IS LEGIT SUCH A SWEETHEART
They just announced her as the Queen of Kpop on MAMA 2020!
Boa wasn't just famous in Japan korea and china, she was also famous in western asia and north africa (arab countries) and other parts of asia
BOA STANS RISEREEEERER
No one can claim that they are the "Queen's of Kpop" as long as BOA still walks the earth!
Long Live the QUEEN OF KPOP!!! LONG LIVE BOA!!!
The REAL Queen of K-pop 👑
@아난 디타アナンディタ ik
SM = BoA
She is the legendary icon for the company indeed.
I've known about BoA for a long time but I never really known much about her so this video educational. ❤️✨
she's truly a legend. Now she doesn't care about fame anymore and just sing for her passion and her fans
I've played that CD to pieces (it literally broke a few years back).
i honestly don't understand how she's so underrated
edit : by underrated , i mean by newer kpop fans and international fans . i only found out about her because of her song, eat you up, playing on my alexa and i got into her, but i had never heard of her before .
Who has been saying that? *Grabs pitchfork*
@@baa844 newer fans, honestly. she isn't hyped up enough .
She ruled kpop for decade
Underrated by international fans but with Koreans I doubt so
@@kida5020 yeah ! that's what i mean .
And here we are now. At the start of 2022 with the new supergroup by SM GOT with BoA as leader
I mean BoA paved the way and is she's a role model for everything Kpop artists... She's so inspirational to everyone....She's truely the goddess of Kpop
BoA is a Queen. Been listening to her since I was 10.
Giving me chills seeing her so young and already having such stage presence
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS ❤️❤️ what a great way to honor BoA. She's literally the queen of KPOP. Thank you.
One shot, Two shot is a bop, most underrated song of 2018.
BOA was the first popular Kpop artist in Japan but not the first to promote. SES was promoting on Japanese Music shows.
Thank u, im so glad people recognize that
yesssss its about timeeee the queennnn 💗💗
She just celebrated Her 20th anniversary in the industry..and released new MV on RUclips..have you guys/gals check it out..?
And yes..i stand for Her from 2000..I know that there are so many great female soloists nowadays..but BoA still My No. 1..love Her 'till the end of time..
My favourite BoA's song is Eat you up 😍😍 such a banger even after 10 years
Agree that song is so sick!! Personally I loved energetic because to this day. I have not seen a closer Janet Jackson comparison then with that video. BoA can do anything I swear, just saying. :b
BoA was my introduction to Kpop. Saw the music video for Eat You Up here in the US while at the gym back in 2020. Next thing I know, a little while later I'm at an SM Town concert in the Staples Center in downtown LA having the time of my life!
Ive been a fan of her for as long as i can remember. And remember that she done it all in solo... Not in a group. Shes brave beautiful n talented.
Please do a "What Happened to TVXQ/JYJ" ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for making this. Like Key said in the web series he did with her, I will always be happy as long as BoA continues to make music. I would really like to see her push her boundaries a little more as she's been super tame recently, but I won't complain as long as I continue to see her doing what she loves. I hope for many more years of BoA and her music and I'm hoping that 2020 will be the year that I get to finally see her in person.
So sorta paved the way for the solo artists. They all are great. Love u BoA!!!!!!
Should have mentioned anime, that's where I first heard of BoA and it was an introductory step into K-pop.
Good job, as always!
Same lol! I first heard her from Fairy tail
@@ihatemostpeople6711 Lol as i knew it Fairy Tail Fan here I am too 👆
Been a fan of BoA since 1998. I followed her and Utada at that time.
SAME!
As someone commented in another video of her "She LITERALLY walked upside down". Says it all. She always knows how to pull you back in whiplash and all 🤩
I’ve been a Boa fan since she released Shine We Are 😍 She will always be the queen
Thank you for doing this !^-^ She is one of my favorite soloists ever. literally grew up listening to her before i even knew what kpop was.
Thank you for reminding people who is the QUEEN of Kpop. These young ins need to be taught...♥️♥️♥️
thank you for this in depth yet concise bio of BoA...I am so sorry for sleeping on this true Queen of Kpop
CAN YOU PLEASE TO WHAT HAPPENED TO INFINITE THEY HAVE SUCH A INTERESTING STORY Since they are technically sm artist
infinite is not under sm, they came from woollim entertainment
@@parkjaymin1699 yes but woollim is owned by sm and before woollim was a company INFINITE was under a different sm subsidiary
Very interesting Jerry, I didn't know that about Woolim. Says SM C&C pretty much established Woolim Ent. Ltd. and owns all their stocks. Good info ; ]
@@K1SPL198 yep that's why it's so cool
I came back here after seeing the Girls On Top project, I'm so happy BoA will be introduced to 4th gen fans. She will always be SM's pride and Queen of Kpop ✨
*Next Can you Make What Happened To Ladies' Code.*
*Thank you i really Appreciate You.😁*
That's gonna be a hard video to watch without ballin'. Prepare your tissue boxes for that one. Much Love Ashley씨, SoJung씨, Zuny씨...... Luv4eva Riseちゃん, EunB씨.
I love this what happened to" series, and that single fact that you've made a video about BoA makes me love it even more #stanintellectuality
Anime fans- BoA sings the ending song of Inuyasha and theme songs for a couple other anime’s. As you know from watching the video, she’s been around for awhile. Give her the respect she deserves!! Truly the queen!
Hey Nathan! Make a video on Bi Rain and another on Tasha/Yoon Mirae! I would love for you to give these new fans info on some of the best! Oooo and Se7en too!
Boa was and still is the most memorable K-pop artist that ever lived. She took over the world by storm. That’s what hard work and dedication does. She was introduced to the US and really showed what she was made of. Amazing artist Boa is.
6:35 SM likes to use these kind of word. Maybe it sounds cool.
For example, in SHINee - Lucifer, and f(x) - Electric Shock
And she just released the best korean album of 2020. BETTER is such a flaw-free album , probably becoming my favorite from her. I can't express how proud I am and how much love and respect I have for her. From Mexico, I became a true fan of the only and one queen of K-Pop
I started to like her when I listened, every heart when I watched Inuyasha, then amazing kiss on RUclips, it's been while but i still like her music a lot.
She's literally my hero since I was a little girl. I cannot even begin on how much of an impact she's made on my life. My role model. New kpoppers need to bow down. PLEASE 💕💕💕✊🏻
