  • In this video, I feature an incredible battle between IM Alice Lee and GM Irina Krush in the recently completed American Cup. I break down the game, and explain different approaches you can take to improve your play in closed positions. Going over games like this is a great way to learn, and I hope you learn as much as I did. On a side note, congrats to Alice on winning the event!

Every video you do is the most instructive I’ve ever seen on its given topic. I wish I’d have had you as a coach when I was more active. Thank you-I’m sure I’ll watch this one many times over.

This new series is great and very instructive. I am also learning a ton from your Autopsy series. I really hope you will do autopsies and/or analysis of games from the Candidates!!!

Nice concepts. Much of it over my head, but you put out some good "rules" I can use.

Only watched 10 mins so far, but I love the way you explain what you should be thinking about in the positions. Will certainly be coming back to the rest of the video when I have time. Thanks Josh.

Great lesson GM Friedl. The one thing you didn't cover is whether you need to plan ahead in the opening for whether or not the opponent will allow youto open the position or close it and to evaluate which will be better, thus deciding whether to give them the option or not.
