I saw Yordan at a game against the Angels in September. Yordan hit a homer all the way to the back wall. He ran over to second, thinking he hit a double, and frankly, I did too, even as the train started blaring. Then he continued to round the bases in what I later learned was his first home run since coming off the IL.
In other words, I genuinely wonder if the man knows his own strength.

Me and a friend were at ALDS Game 1. Honestly this game went as well for the Mariners as they could've asked. They jumped on Verlander early, maintained a healthy distance and had a 5 run lead going into the 8th. Everyone was going nuts when Alvarez hit that homer, and I can only imagine what a gut punch it was to the Mariners. I think it was over at that moment. If the Mariners couldn't pull off that game then there was no way they were going to win that series, which sucks for them because they actually put up a good fight despite being swept.
And when Yordan hit the homer in Game 6 of the WS it felt like it might as well have been the 9th. It was such a massive statement for a man who doesn't talk much. I mean seeing that pitch go so far was a massive boost for us and such a demoralizing moment for the Phillies. It really felt that it was over- and it was!

I own exactly 2 jerseys. One of the Houston Aeros, our old minor league hockey team, that my dad bought for me when I was a kid. And a Yordan jersey I bought his rookie year with a gift card only because they were out of Bregman jerseys. Looking back I still love Breggy but I'm glad I got the Yordan one.

I hope it is noticed how often yuli's name is mentioned in setting up some pivotal moments that yordan was able to come through on. He may not have been a 300 plus batter but there is an intangible around Yuli in which he's able to be at the center of every pivotal moment in playoff series and I believe it would be a shame not to find a way to keep him. I'll put it to you like this. There are players who can bet .300 plus throughout the season and then get to the playoffs and back below .100 well Yuli is a guy that may hit .250 in the regular season only to show up and be a .280 .300 type batter in the playoffs. I hope Aberu understands he has extremely big shoes to fill.

If Alvarez had kept up the home run hitting pace that he had in his first week, he would’ve finished with around 95 home runs.
