This will work with 2001-2003 for sure, and likely all fourth generation Chrysler minivans. Not sure what causes the entire mechanism to seize up, but the motor's never turned via mechanical usage.
I've replaced two of these before and my second install has been out for a few weeks now on a 2011 model. Now each sides sliding door is stuck in the open position and cant be locked manually or with the fob. Unfortunately from past experience I know its a bit harder to get the mechanism out on the later models but I'm going to do this on both my doors this weekend. I'm done shelling out money for these garbage parts. I'll deal with pulling the lock manually when needed. Thanks for the breakdown.
@@BrianHorton1 oh yeah, I didn’t follow up on this. I did what I said and changed out both side door locks. That is to say I took tthe motors out and now they work manually. Doos still works the same. What’s nice is I can still leave the doors locked all the time and just reach inside the pillar post with my hand and push the interior open button and they will open I am close normally with the motors. I never actually have to flip the locks back-and-forth with this method. I can live with that.
Those motors are really cheap, used to be able to buy them at Radio Shack. But any electronics supply company should sell them. I generally buy my electronic parts from Mouser, but there's others you can order them from and save yourself a lot of money.
Thank you so much for ur video i did order a lock actuator installed it not even a month it stocked up then when i was able to open my door it made noise again. Thank so much u made my day dont care if manual as long it doesnt make an embarrasing noise when I drive :)
Soledad Parent, glad the solution is working for you. I actually found that my automatic door opener still works even when the manual lock is in the locked position so it’s been even better than I anticipated! If your replacement part is still under warranty, I would get my money back for it and take your original part and use it as a manual lock. Just a thought, best wishes!
AHA! I don't need the auto door lock, I just need to be able to lock the door. Thank you.

Good deal, hope it worked. It's sad to hear this is still a problem on a model 8 years older than mine!

@@citizen762 Good deal. Nice to have a solution that doesn't involve the purchase of another defective part!
Grateful for the tip. Can't wait to rip the door panel off!

Helps a lot. I am going to dismantle the motor, clean it, lube it, and bring it back to life. I am happy to see the actuator can be disassembled
I think this is a good solution for the "mean while" you order a new part Or, permanent one if you choose.
