There is no doubt that it's a great game and that it's WipEout successor but there is something that never can be replaced: the teams and their craft's uniqueness and behavior, the lore, the story. The thought of never seeing FEISAR or EG-X or any other team again pains me so much(

This looks good but I'll still always be a Wip3out purist I think! That shit raised me as a kid in the PS1 era. Good to hear that some actual Psygnosis devs were on side here too though. Those guys knew what the f*ck was going on, same with all those oldskool pre-3D era devs.

These are truly amazing games. Wipeout started it all.
What about F-Zero?
Don't really know about this game, there's something about it that makes me feel uneasy as there's dissonance in the design.
Nothing follows the speed of the car, not the music, not the sound effects, not the visual effects down to even the thrusters, all this is a slo-mo while everything around is moving forward with the car awkwardly floating in place.
Everything in Graviator except for the actual speed and some effects feels like it's what Formula Fusion should feel like, and GRIP isn't even AG (though it is great, some floatiness and screen clutter aside).
-Formula Fusion 6.5/10 (graphical uneasiness aside it still seems like a perfectly fine game, pretty to look at when things aren't moving);
-Antigraviator 7/10 (very fast, unpolished in a number of thing but overall tight feeling);
-BallisticNG 9/10 (by far the best old school Wipeout clone, highly customizeable making it possible to even recreate some Wipeout games HUD and lighting aside but some tools seem like they don't want to want to work and it's annoyingly hard to get your grips with halfway trough, the championship becomes almost inaccessible thowards the end to people who haven't grown with this kind of games);
-Redout 9/10 (the best modern reinterpretation of AG that's purely focused in going fast, losing points in the cars' looks more because of the lighting displaying them badly, somewhat poorly optimized despite the poly count even on low);
-The actual Wipeout and F-Zero I can't say anything because I played neither but for what I've seen they do deserve their reputation.
EDIT: Found out about Pacer and it just looks so much better than Formula Fusion, suspend my opinion of it because I want to try it myself.
Replace Antigraviator with BallisticNG and you're good

No matter how good it is, without iconic Wipeout teams and tracks like FEISAR, AG-Systems, Pirhana, Sol, Vineta K, Moa Therma, etc, it's just not the same, it's not Wipeout.

The truth right here.... It's effectively by some of the team from Sony Liverpool and they wanted to stay true to what made WipEout... Thumping progressive tech beats, crazy circuits married with awesome graphic design (C/O The Designers Republic), and super fast anti-grav racers. You'll probably notice my avatar pays respect to "The Angry Man" and WipEout is where it all began. WipEout lives on in Formula Fusion.

OMG that Gfx+4K looks legendary
Looks really good, partly. Strange that the ship blocks the view forward almost entirely while turning, and the own engine effects/trail doesn't quite look all that good. The pickup/boost effects are underwhelming.

It looks like they Wipeout mechanics are there, but the vehicles lack that Wipeout feel. It really sucks the team had to start from scratch. To me, Wipeout and Playstation just belong together.

Qaotik nope, its very different from Psygnosis Wipeout games. No art direction, refined gameplay or physics near the PSX games...
The only thing better than 3SE or XL here is the graphics. Maybe that is why it is in this NVIDIA page.

Having come from Wipeout Pure, Pulse, HD and Omega Collection, can’t say that this would win me over.
Then again, neither did 2048. Not enough hairpins and messy chicanes to rip out our own hair with.

Its okay. Fast RMX on switch makes these games look slow. Its a shame. I highly recommend that game.

Cool concept but I don’t like the style. Wipeout was famous for its distinct teams and how different their ships looked. QIREX was blockier and more stocky with their dual-haul technology, AG Systems was sleeker and more smooth for more speed

Why is it dropping fps in this video? Should have ran on an AMD card i guess.
Either the 'cars' are too wide or the tracks are too narrow. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of room to move.
Dion Miller there's just as much room, if not more, than on your average WipEout 2097 track, and that game has been the best in the series for like 25 years now, so that's gotta mean something.
Don't get me wrong though, this game totally has some instances of weird track design: some jumps like in Freeway (not pictured) and El Muro, the first track in the video, get a bit awkward to land at higher speed classes, then Fyiah Fury, the canyon track, has a couple blind chicanes, and Atlas Torres (not pictured) has maybe two misplaced boost pads, that launch you into a wall if you don't brake (a cheap noob trap also seen back in WipEout 1, in tracks like Silverstream, Firestar and Karbonis V).
Other than that though, the track design is overall solid, no need to worry too much.
The best game will always be F-Zero

I am deeply in love with this game. After waiting forever for the full game to be released (which it is now), this game is my 2nd favorite AG racer. My first favorite is Wipeout XL (a.k.a. Wipeout 2097). I really would love to see that modded into this game with it's original sound track as well. Nevertheless, it's amazing how beautiful Formula Fusion looks in the Unreal Engine. You do need a super powerful PC to enjoy it's beauty. What I don't like about it is that some of the tracks are very unforgiving and there are times that the AI will just blast past you in an unrealistic manner. The team is still getting some of the bugs out of it but WOW.. I love this game.
Hounddog Qix there IS actually a Wipeout 2097 remake with lots of content on Steam. Really awesome !

Hounddog Qix it's more of a W3 clone (in a good way) called BallisticNG: it's free, ultra moddable and it's got native NegCon support. It's currently in early access, build 0.7, and it's about to reach completion too, possibly near August/September.

Somehow the movement of the ships doesn't look right yet....the physics don't seem to fit if one can even say that. The ships move too static. There is no real feeling of floatyness.
