Just sold my Capra a few weeks back. It was a great bike and only reason I sold was cause I wanted something smaller. Overall I didn’t have really any issues with the components (I had the same exact bike in the yellow colour). I did get a dent in the rear wheel similar to yours but a bit smaller that didn’t let me hold tubeless anymore. I chock that up to running the exo casing tires with no insert which comes stock which should not be speced on a bike like that. Other than that all my components were running good. Did have to replace the hanger once too but that’s about it. I however did not ride as much as you did. I did do a few bike park days and some gnarly local stuff but you rode the hell out of that bike lol. Great video!
"you rode the hell out of that bike lol" 🤣🤘. Thanks for your comment - I am very happy with the FR541 rim from DT-Swiss because I was not able to bend it so far 🤙
A small tip for noisy brakes is to smear a small amount of copper grease on the back of the pads but be careful not to get it on the braking surface. It really does stop the noise. I've always done this on my motorbike pads and it works just as well on mtb's too 😊👍👍
It's quite normal for bearings to not survive a season with 50 bike park days, I am afraid. Though completely stuck is faar on the bad side, normally they are just creaky
No wonder you broke and dented every thing if you case the shit out of every jump. Also you can be happy that with 50bike park days your bike was stil running if you consider your harsh riding. Yt compared with other brand(some dont even respond), is very fast an talks responsive. I never had any trouble comunicating with YT and I always got what I needed...maybe you just dont know how to ask😂. However sick video, good to hear someone others expirience
Most of the parts are thrid party products which aren´t build by YT but purchased by them. Any other manufacturers would probably have the same issue. The only think you can critizese is the frame and all people I know who have a YT bike are happy with it. After a year of heavy riding you can expect that something brakes and with proper service these bikes are really reliable.
Yes indeed, see www.mtb-news.de/news/neues-yt-capra-core-3-enduro-bike2023/ . The components of the current bike look very reasonable to me, apart from the brakes
@@papafreeride I’m relatively decent at MTB and am looking to up my game as at the moment I have very little travel and can’t take bigger hits. Would u recommend to someone who ride downhill trails with moderate jumps and drops and also rides bike parks.
@@ManicBanana32 I would say that with an enduro bike like the Capra you can ride anything in a bike park. Only if you mainly ride hard downhill trails do you need a DH bike such as a TUES. I think the current version is better, but not because of the suspension but because of the wheels - the crankbrothers wheels are crap.
Sorry
Sorry man thats all completely normal wear and tear. Pro enduro riders put that much wear in tear in a single day of racing sometimes and they are on 10,000 $ bikes. Thats just the nature of this sport.
I enjoy your videos man. However, I think any bike at this price range is going to have similar wear/tear like you have had with that much use and abuse. I cannot seem to find a better “bang” for the buck for a carbon bike than a Capra Core 3 but am still researching before I pull the trigger on a new ride..What are your top picks currently?
Thanks man. I am happy with the frame and the suspension of the Capra but not with the components. If I would buy now I think I would just take a frame kit and build it with my favority components: Wheels DT Swiss or Hope, Derailleur Shimano, Brakes Shigura, supension Fox or Rock Shox.
From what I understood the 2024 version does have different third party components right ? Are they better ? If yes, then I guess that makes the 2024-core 3 a really good option no ? Also I'm 1.65m / 50kg, my gf 1.60/50 do you think the S version would be a good fit ? Btw I love this AI voice lmao
Guten Morgen!
@@papafreeride Lager nachfetten bringt auf jeden Fall was.

Quick question, does the yt Capra core 2 come with peddles?
No
Well, my Core 3 came with some cheap plastic pedals. so if you want to ride seriously you definitly need some.

Thanks for your assesment. The conclusion for me is that it's not worth spending 10,000 $ on a bike if it won't last any longer.

In my opinion, the current core 3 components are quite good. If you get the bike, it's best to grease the bearings of the rear triangle first.
