Very good review I’m a big Jeffsy fan Good to see they have kept the allrounderness and it’s still the classic trail bike of bikes I’m used to using the climb/firm switch and have gone for a firmer shock tune in rear and 10mm longer fork 🍴 Good bikes for long rides but still ok for shuttles and park days
@@Mstrgeez a bit on the softer side, pedal bob is a real deal on the Jeffsy. With the flip chip in the high position it definitely helps! I’d say it’s 60% in favor of descending
Great Review, the model you reviewed, core 5, I think YT missed the mark on this one in terms of pricing, they put a $6.5K price on it, but the Capra uncaged is the same price and spec'd with flight attendant susp, carbon wheels and axs reverb dropper, it doesn't make sense for the Jeffsy to be priced in the Uncaged tier without being uncaged spec'd. YT should have just stopped at core 4 and then made a Jeffsy uncaged model for $6.5k and spec'd it accordingly.
I own a 2019 Jeffsy. I run it with a coil shock and Push coil converted pike 150/150 mm, -1° headset, MX/Mullet wheels, flip chip in high position, 165mm cranks for extra clearance. The head angle should be around 64.5° if Im correct. It feels super well balanced for me, very agile and playful while still being able to plow through tech. It's also very versatile, having fun on flowy trails but also being able to do bike park laps and enduro races. I think I will keep on shredding on it for a long time! :)
Thanks for yet another great review. I am in the market for new bike to replace my Cannondale Scalpel SE with something a little more trail-orientated and I'm torn between Jeffsy and IZZO. How would you compare the two - under what scenarios would you recommend picking IZZO over Jeffsy or vice-versa?
Doubting either get a Jeffsy, Hightower, Ripmo, Ripley or SC 5010. Any thoughts on the best pick for general trail/some enduro and occasional bikepark rides? Looking for most fun bike but capable enough to do steeps etc
Great detailed review! Curious how tall the primary reviewer is, noting he started on an XL frame and decided he preferred the L. I'm in the awkward 6'1" category so between sizes but not at a skill/knar/balls level to always want full send playfullness.
He is 6'2", but has shorter than average torso and arms, usually prefers L over XL even tho sizing charts would put him on XL. I'm very similar size and after being on an XL Vitus Mythique that felt too big, I am tempted to now go for an L Jeffsy Core 2.
Seems like a solid bike for a bit of everything! If I didn’t have the new bird on pre-order I might have been looking at this. I know you have that in for review - any comparisons?
It's a really nice bike - wish they had a bit of a nicer build on the aluminum build but that is fairly standard across the brands. I'm considering getting a new bike as I only have emtbs currently, and this is catching my eye. Also considering the Norco Fluid which seems like a direct competitor to this bike.
@@nikolaibohachevsky2301 - I just went from 29s to mullet and while I like the mullet there are trails in my area that the 29er was much better on. I still think I prefer the mullet for all mountain which I'm surprised the Jeffsy isn't but for a more trail bike I'm not mad at the 29er.
@@Stefanoss It is Certainly on my list since my main bike is the Turbo Levo but also goes a bit with bike shops and experiences. I'm still running a mk1 Jeffsy, for allround trail and enduro (not race) use, with a 150mm fork. The two things that bother me on it are short reach and seattube thats too long. Is this better in these respects?
I am going to be ordering one of these here as soon as they are available again, but at 6'2" I am really struggling between the Large and XL. I'm probably closer to 6' 1 1/2" and I too have preferred not to have too much bike under me as I like to be nimble. It's been 5yrs since I've ridden and I am not sure which to size to purchase. My upper and lower torsos are proportional and I have a 33" inseam. Any advice out there?
Do you live near one of YT's showrooms? If so, we would recommend visiting one and demoing each size. If that's not an option, it very much sounds like you are in a similar boat as Rob (6'2") who also prefers a shorter, more nimble bike. Rob tested both L and XL and was uncomfortable on the XL, feeling much more at home on the size large. In fact, most of our crew, ranging from 5'11 - 6'2" would opt for a size large over the XL for the same reason.
Thank you! It's the Velocio Ultralight Trail Hooded Jacket - a nice lightweight option, but not the most resilient for days as wet and wild as these were.
Always like the look of this bike but the only thing holding me back is the warranty issues people have had with yt and canyon the same spoke to so many people and the vast majority have had a nightmare really puts me off
Not much changed. After the Capra I thought this will have a yoke shock as well. Luckily not the case. No headset cable routing. Still has a flip chip. Bit better geo. Seems like it will be great, as the previous version was.
I had the last version of the Jeffsy and sold it about a month after I got it. I thought it was a turd. Didn’t pedal very well and always had a weird creak or noise. Maybe it was just mine 🤷🤷

If the so called big manufacturers specced their bikes better at respectable (ISH) prices they would get more customers and wouldn't be struggling like they are now, plus bike shops would get more custom through bike sales.. I mean Who doesn't want a better specced bike for a lot less money? Direct to consumer will only get bigger unless the industry stops being so greedy.
@Alan-75 The funniest thing about Carbon frames is they're almost 3/4 less expensive to manufacture than aluminum, yet they charge twice as much as aluminum frames.
