    I've seen a couple air tank builds but your take the cake pal. The build quality is fantastic. The idea to go the next step and build a block to hold the gauge, inlet and outlet was just great. I'm so impressed I'll go and make your additions to my air tank. Keep it up pal.

      Not many tools??? Well-built tank but dude got money...
      Drill press, big bore tap set, plasma cutter (air compressor for plasma cutter), MIG welder, angle grinder, table vise, hardened big bore drill bits, high end fire resistant welders overalls and gloves, and all to make a portable tank to top off the tires of his Mercedes...
      This isn't the average "lemme scrape around see what I have in the garage..." this is "hmmmm... I'm bored, what can I make in my shop today?" 😂🤘😎💵

    Nice job, but the only thing I noticed was that you ran your pipe taps in to deep. Since they are tapered, the farther you go, the bigger the thread diameter gets and you don`t get a tight seal because most fittings will screw all the way in and not "jam" up like a taper pipe is supposed to do. Still a real good job though.

    Klasse ! Habe mir sowas auch vor ein paar Jahren gebaut, Allerdings nicht so perfekt. Habe kein Fahrwerk usw. Ich habe das Orginal-Ventil rausgeschraubt und
    oben abgesägt das nur noch der untere Teil mit Gewinde übrig war (Messing). Das dann durchbohrt und ein Gewinde reingschnitten und ein T-Stück
    reingeschraubt. Daran dann Manometer + Druckluftkupplung - Fertig.... Allen Sicherheitsfanatikern sei noch gesagt das diese Gasbehälter einen Prüfdruck
    von 30 Bar haben, somit für Druckluftanwendungen Save sind. Manche basteln ja auch mit alten Feuerlöschern, da hätte ich Bedenken....

    • @derhamburgerjung8673
      @derhamburgerjung8673 3 года назад

      Ich wollte nur noch mal sichergehen und daher noch mal meine (eventuelle) dumme Frage: kann man wirklich das Ventil mittels einen Rollgabelschlüssel und einem Hammer so bedenkenlos, problemlos und vor allem gefahrlos demontieren?
      Vielen Dank schon mal im Voraus für die Info, und vorallem auch Kompliment für dieses sehr interessante und Klasse Video.

    • @stefanp8137
      @stefanp8137 3 года назад

      @@derhamburgerjung8673 : Hallo wenn Du absolut auf Sicherheit gehen willst, fülle die Flasche vorher mit Wasser, dann kann auf gar keine Fall was passieren. Zum Abschrauben
      habe ich einen passenden Gabelschlüssel auf den 4Kant des Ventils gesetzt und mit einem Rohr verlängert. Saß verdammt fest, da das Ganze noch zusätzlich mit
      einem Gewindedichtmittel (Loctite vielleich) eingeklebt war.

    Great work and craftsman but I am very concern about the safety of using a propane tank in this manner. I guess it would be ok if you coat the inside of the tank with paint or plasti dip so it will not rust and pop on you.

    • @simonm1447
      @simonm1447 3 года назад

      I don't know if it's coated, however propane gas has no oxygen in it, and no moisture. But even with a coated tank the coating is gone if you heat it up too much, like around weldings which are done at home.

    • @timsaveneh567
      @timsaveneh567 3 года назад

      Air compressor tanks are not treated or special, hence why they rust as well. Drain the moisture and it'll be fine

    • @simonm1447
      @simonm1447 3 года назад

      @@timsaveneh567 You get coated ones, but not with inexpensive compressors. Kaeser (a good German brand) offers models with coated tanks, Schneider also.

    This is a brilliant build! - I want to make one of these based based on this fantastic design but does anybody know, or to what to look for, with the maximum pressure that one of these cylinders can go to safely? - I did see a cylinder years ago in our local tip that was possibly along the same lines, but nowhere as good!, that had 'blown up' in that it was obviously split open by a large inside pressure.
