As someone who has consulted with countless dermas since I was a teen, a lot of dermas tend to be really intimidating that you’d feel you’re not entitled to ask questions and just blindly follow whatever they ask you to do. I appreciate those who really take time to connect with their patients and make every visit comfortable.
Thanks Doc Gaile for this video. I’m loving this format. You’re very articulate and it shows how much you love your profession. More power to you!

Went to a derm here in Nueva Ecija, i agree that communication is the key talaga and derms would answer all of it based sa experience ko sa magkapatid na derm ko here. They actually take their time to explain about your skin issues and kung bakit itong treatment yung nirerecommend nila.Although, magastsos talaga siya, learn to trust the process talaga.
Btw, ty for this informative video, Dra.More to come!

Pero yeah, they're experts in their field. Let's give it to them. Kaso hopefully, if they know how skin conditions affect patients, sana alam din nila kung paano siya iaddress kasi hindi lahat ng patients ay strong enough to face their situation. Ewan ko. SKL haha

So kung saan saan kmi nagpakonsulta. May kanya kanya silang reseta, kanya kanyang procedure. Ang motivation na nila gawin kang monthly income which I think maling mali.

By law, are local dermatologists allowed to sell their own medication? Should these drugs be FDA approved or pwedeng hindi? I’ve been pressured by derms to purchase their brand of products. They also don’t have a proper ingredients list on their products.

I’ve had very good experiences sa dermas ko, pero you also get what you pay for so make sure it’s an experienced derma talaga. From super acne prone with cystic acne, I am now all clear.
Ang mali lang ng mga patients they expect it to work agad. It takes minimum 3 months to see results and you go back if it doesn’t work para they can readjust or change the prescription.

Kasi yung derm namin dito, pangalan lang nila nasa sabon parang kunyare Red Soap by Dr Gaile Robredo-Vitas.

May 2 types kasi ng doctors that treat the skin- 1. dermatologists - ung mga nag training for 3 years on how to treat conditions of the skin, hair and nails: 2. Aesthetic practitioners - doctors who underwent training on aesthetic procedures but not skin conditions.
PDS is a society of board-certified dermatologists who underwent 3 years of hospital training and who passed the dermatology board examinations.
PACCD is another society with their own 3-year training in their clinics and also an exam after the three years. They are also taught how to handle skin conditions, but if im not mistaken, hindi hospital-based majority of their training.
Other societies are focused on aesthetic dermatology.

In all fairness, yung derma na nilapitan ko nung nagka fungal infection ako sa balat, pina laboratory niya muna ako including test for HIV before siya nag diagnose.

Personal experience.

Then nung nalaman nilang di na kami tutuloy sa program nila, di na nila inayos yung natitirang session with them. Never pay credit sa mga derma! Dapat after procedure, saka lang magbabayad para di tamarin or babuyin yung last sessions.

When you think you found a really good derma during your session but after the session reresetahan ka ng products that only they sell at astronomical prices. If I had a nickel, I'd have 3 which isn't a lot but it's interesting that it happened to me thrice. I could swear dermas here sa PH are taking sales courses kase they really convince you that you need a certain product to buy. I would see it see kase I teach marketing & sales.

Some of them don't give you the time to ask any questions and they make face when you force your query onto them.

Wow. I don't know why my algorithm went here pero this is really nice. Only had two encounters with a Derma so far. First is for me, during pandemic and it was a video call. Pandemic stress really took toll on my skin and as in my whole face is covered with acne. The consultation went quickly and was only prescribed with a soap and cream that they are actively promoting sa clinic. The sakura one. Needless to say, my skin issues were actually due to a mental health issue so I stopped using it eventually.
Second is with my dad. He has a serious skin condition that went on for YEARS and the only thing that worked with him is some sort of steroid medicine. Was trying to give my dad's history and meds tried sa doctor in Medical City, but brushed off within the 5 minute consultation. He was given a calamine lotion instead. lol. Stopped going after that.

And nag worsen yung acne ko. Second bad experience is the doctor gave me a product na from their brand naman talagang product lang nila yung ibinigay and nakakahiya tumanggi and mag ask ng generic medication na lang kasi all of them is naka abang while we’re paying like as in naka circle sila duon super nakaka pressure. 😭 That’s why nagpapa consult na lang ako online instead of f2f because of bad experiences like this.

True, wala talagang regulation. Nung nasa med school ineemphasize yan parati, na you stick to your specialty- i cant remember the term. Pero gaya ng sinabi mo kung OB-GYNE d ka dapat nag aanesthesia or nag treat ng broken bones like ortho.

Shout out kay Dr.R ng Our Lady of the Pillar hospital. Sobrang arrogante and bastos.

This is basically an "all about me" video, content on narcissism. Hays. Robredo technique.

Yes, I do - online consultation is done via the SeriousMD app.
      seriousmd.com/provider/dermhq
However, I am only able to do online consultations about 2 to 3 times a month kasi sinisingit ko cya sa calendar when i have free time 🤍
