Sorry for upsetting those of you that believe ACC FFB is fine and detailed , just be glad you don't know what's missing as it genuinely will ruin the game and simracing for you. Before you still comment keep in mind I have been simracing for 25+ years have over 10k hours across most the main sims sims going back to 90s , have had 5k iRating (which is actually meaningless but simracers think it means something) Own 4+DD wheels and 6+ non DD wheels ( which I bought before doing sim hardware reviews of which I have been doing for 10+ years) Also have one of the only ffb joysticks since the sidewinder and Novint falcon ... (Shame they never took off) Should also be getting new Moza joystick soon 👌 Then ask yourself if a guy that sad , that's also wasted thousands of pounds on FFB devices that nobody else owns and has a weird obsession with FFB since they were 14 would maybe be able to detect when a racing sim very obviously lacks specific FFB information. Who am I kidding I'll still get the same comments 😂
i'm upset because you kept hidden your bald head brother! Be proud of it as i am don't hide it ahaha : )! We are all waiting for AC EVO now, is ACC the bad tempered cousin?
I often wear hats when I'm out and about, it's not to hide being bald, my temperature goes up and down loads lol and I lose my hat if it's not on my head. @@danntaki7143

It does make sound when the wheel spins fast and when it's on it has a slight white noise that comes from it, u probably can't hear it being in that environment
Thank you so much for the review. What direct drive wheels do you suggest for entry mid level and high end(when is it worth it paying extra for this type of wheel? Same for mid level? I know belt wheel is no good but i did enjoy the TS-Pc and had no need to upgrade but i sold it so now i want direct drive since the prices are so close to each other. Thank you brother
I use to play on T150 alot and sady the Gas pad spring wear out and talk to game store if they can repair it but they said they don't have the skills to repair it so i window shopping doing my research for 2 weeks and want to best buy to get the T598 take me few days get use to it so far be enjoying, both wheels feels so different belt system to a none belt system I do like T598 add ons and feel like it well built metal pads and spring that can last a long time

I wonder which angle i should mount the T598 since the mounting adapter has an angle but when you mount it directly it has no angle. In the video the wheel has no angle but i think a wheel in a streetcar is always angled, right? Is it straight in a racing car?
I wish they would be more clear about when to expect an Xbox compatible version and when just the base will be available. As a filthy console user without much budget (obviously, as I'm using a console) still on a TX that I bought used that has hundreds of hours on it I'm constantly paranoid about it dying and what my plan would be if that happens... This looks like it would drop in nicely.
maybe ac1 wasnt compatible with the rims on screen display. only reason i can think of why they didnt showcase it on ac1. as you say bit daft doing a demo on acc
The magnetic field is orientated face on rather than side on , imaging magnets flat on a disk rather than magnets around a donut. This has different pros and cons to non radial motors requiring different shapes of final motors arrangement to get the desired result for this use case. Just Google axial motor vs radial and watch some videos on the subject to learn more about it , it's quite interesting.
Did you not get a unit sent to you yet ?Must be in the post .Btw most users will want a wheelbase only option as they already have a couple of wheels and a T-CLM pedal set
0:25 LMAO this was my first thought and also comment on another video about this wheel, dont remeber what youtuber posted about it but yea, they should have used LMU
To be fair LMU FFB is also lacking for detail at the limit , but it's a meme that RF2 and LMU "have the best FFB" what drivers are mostly feeling in RF2 and LMU is the games aggressive ffb tug for suspension compression when braking , and then very over the top rumble / high frequency FFB for bumps. Neither of which actually help you drive better, LMU and RF2 are massively forgiving to drive though so it masks the lack of detail in FFB for the specific amount of grip and slip a car is in. The problem is also down to as sims have gotten more peaky tire models that then gives less time / less progression to the slip curve which then makes it harder and maybe imposable for wheels to then pass that detail to the driver. The result is that some additional layber of FFB is probably needed to describe the slip curve to the driver in a detailed way but developers for a multitude of reasons don't want to do that , and telemetry based systems typically have some delay added to them to avoid giving too much data to cheaters in real time.
The Logitech wheels feel great , Logitech software is generally a bit bloaty but from my experience should all work fine and as I say hardware on the Logitech DD feels good + more rims now 👍.

@@GamerMuscleVideos So it seems like a good budget option for someone who's not that invested in the hobby. Nice pedals + 450 for wheel base with QR i think is quite a compelling price. Hopefully more wheels in the 250 price point aoon !
GM is the Chris Harris of sim racing, he is the best IMO when it comes to conveying how a piece of hardware feels like.

Billy "Thrustmaster" Strange must be extremely pleased with this wheel.
He is lost in model car land now
Diameterwise it looks as big as a channel tunnel drill

Yah hard to tell at a trade show for more subtle noises , definitely need to try one at home.

@GamerMuscleVideos with such high wheel base you can not place the monitor low enough

I'm generally not accepting items for review at the moment as I don't have time lol
I've emailed TM this question and they said they will do base only next year, but be aware to use your old wheel you will need to buy a QR adaptor.
will they offer also a boost kit like Fanatec did?
Nope , this I believe is meant to fit in as something above say a T300 but not a "high end" DD.
@GamerMuscleVideos so they might then release something in the 8nm figures like the TSPC
Maybe , they already have there other DD wheel base but I think they might rework that or do another base all together not sure.

When is someone gonna make a gas powered direct drive wheel
Thrusting away, pounding.. and penetrating that price point, as hard as they possibly can. 😆💀

I don't think this base is crap for 450 with pedals it's quite good , FFB seemed like it would be fine and tm do good value rims
get it home and give it some mate then we will know what it does
So yet another mediocre dd wheel. If its 450 for the whole set then its fine I guess. The looks are far from impressive though.
Felt ok to me The main thing is the whole thing for 450 is quite a compelling price , the pedals are quite nice as well.
