Going through some of your old videos, this one is awesome! We went to Delaware last year, but only for a night and now we wish we had stayed longer.....however it was after a 20 day trip to the North East and we were exhausted......maybe we will go back and try those fries, I am a ketchup guy and have never tried vinegar.....also the beaches are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing guys.

My wife and I spent a few days in the fall of 2021 to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in Lewes, Del. just north of Rehoboth. It was great. We did drive over to Rehoboth one day, but it was very cold and windy. Lewes is more historical and is a colonial town with neat buildings as well as a goodly number of fine restaurants.

Local here in Bowers Beach. Go south on Route 1 about 3 miles until you hit Dewey, and get a crabcake from WOODYS. You won’t regret it. My favorite of all time.
The owner at Kaisy’s Delight Is the nicest man. Those pics on the walls in there are actual pics he took of where he grew up in Europe. He has given us free samples of homemade European family treats he bakes...recipes that go back in his family when we’ve been there. Also, Nicola pizza family..l nicest family you’d ever meet. The wife (co owner) passed away a few years ago but the family runs the restaurant and comes over to the tables to chat personally with customers. So many businesses that are run for years by the same families. Nice to support local biz.

Hello so I wanted to ask if it was actually enjoyable in the wintertime. I debated between the beach and Wilmington because it looks like there's a lot of outdoor activities but I didn't see many indoor activities. Was your experience still fun? Like would you recommend to go in February for a fun winter getaway?
Love it at Rehoboth Beach go every year at the end of September. Don't do the heat now that I'm older.But in my younger years went every summer. Hope ya come to PA soon.

Touch of Italy is a great spot for dinner. The also have a huge selection of bakery items. Their almond cookies are a must try! There is one in rehobeth and one in north Delaware in Wilmington
Loved your video! I live 15 minutes from the boardwalk! I just moved down here in November, but have been vacationing here & surrounding areas my whole life. Fun fact, a seagull stole a Thrashers fry right from my hand on the boardwalk when I was a little kid LOL. Those fries are superior.

Oh I absolutely wish we would’ve visited when it was warmer but being from Florida it was so quirky & fun being on the beach in a down winter coat! 😂😂 never experienced that before! Lol oh the fries 🍟 were soooo good!!!

I’m planning on doing a trip to Delaware in December. Just found your channel, very neat goal. Looks like I know what I’m binge watching today. I’m also from Tennessee, about 3 hours southwest of you in Memphis! I feel like the beach is going to be much colder than when you went. I’ve only been through Delaware once and I didn’t really do much, so I need to go back and do something to not feel like a fraud. And can legitimately count it. So can’t wait. I’ll probably check out one of the beached there as well as the two big cities. And if they have a state park or something. I’d like to also check that out. Can’t wait.

From my experience, people tend to think Delaware is up near the New England States. They do not realize how centralized northern Delaware is between NYC and Washington DC. Wilmington DE is literally 30minutes from Philadelphia. I think Delaware gets overshadowed just because it's around so many top USA cities. I love the beaches there. Traveling is almost like going through a time zone. Northern Delaware tends to be more urban and city-fide while the lower half gives me southern friendly hospitality. I drove from NJ to DE beaches then to Ocean City MD and then I went to DC. I did it all in one day. It's impressive that there is somewhere you can do that in.

Why I stopped, 🤷♂️ You really didn't get to see the best places, there is a restaurant on Rehoboth Blvd that has the best food, It's next to the Post Office. Breakfast, the diner across from Thrashers is the best, with great Hash Browns. I could go on and on, Thanks for bringing back so many memories. 👍😃

Was good timing though, Nicola’s Pizza is actually moving from in town Rehoboth after 50yrs which is crazy. And that staple Dolle’s sign might come down since they’re no longer there on the corner (they’re a few doors down at Ibachs candy instead) THRASHERS FRIES!! Vinegar all the way! did you try a Kaisy? They’re sooo good. That boardwalk gets so windy it’s nuts.

I did see that Nicola's was moving (CRAZY!) and that Dolle's wasn't in the corner building any more which was super sad! It's such an iconic place/landmark in Rehoboth! Thrasher's was SO GOOD and we did have Kaisy's... Only coffee and Chai Tea though. Should've tried some of the baked goods! And yes, that boardwalk was SO windy! Lol
@@AdventuresofMattandNat If you’re ever back in town and go to Kaisy’s, ask them to sample a Kaisy. I don’t remember the whole explanation, I’m sure it’s on their website but it’s like a shredded super fluffy pancake-like thing and there’s a huge variety of toppings. They usually offer samples right away, I’m surprised they didn’t. I don’t work there, just a fan.
Next time in Rehoboth, don’t skip a trip to Frank & Louie’s downtown on Baltimore Ave for an authentic Italian cafe sandwich and/or sweet treat 🥰 Wedding cookies are a must-have with a cup of coffee or espresso ☕️👌🏻

We stayed at the Hampton Inn a few miles inland, but if you want to be closer to the action, we've heard great things about The Avenue Inn & Spa, although we've never stayed there. We've also had friends that have had good experiences with Airbnb! Hope this helps and that you have an awesome time!😊

Oklahoma is my home state not very touristy here if you come to my hometown Lawton Ok military town got to go out to Wildlife Refuge. Our main tourist attraction in Lawton. But far as Oklahoma OKC or Tulsa got main stuff.

And no it's not great in the summer. It wasn't so bad about 20 years ago, but it's becoming over developed because the tourons want to move away from the city and they bring their attitudes. It's SLOWER lower Delaware for a reason and we like it.
I love Nashville. It has that small town vibe, yet it's busy. I've lived here in Delaware most of my life. My parents moved us to Cumming, Ga when I was 13. ( Want to talk about a development explosion...) I moved back to Delaware the day after I graduated high school. I need my salty air.
I am going to subscribe because you guys can really do well. But show more of the charm. The cool part of Rehoboth are the old beach houses. that’s why Washingtonians always go there.

@@AdventuresofMattandNat it was 51 1/2 actual hours of driving. We stopped in Klamath Falls, OR, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Little Rock and then Simpsonville before ending in Bluffton. We had a 3 hour layover in Seattle before flying to Redmond, OR, so we count that state as part of the journey. 😏
Yea, I can imagine that it would be a nightmare during the summer! Thankfully, it was all free street parking and plenty of spaces while we were there. - Matt
We're all pretty upset about it. The rent is too high and the building is very old. There's nothing like their taffy and popcorn. It'll be a shame to not smell it mixing with the salt air.

Hello so I wanted to ask if it was actually enjoyable in the wintertime. I debated between the beach and Wilmington because it looks like there's a lot of outdoor activities but I didn't see many indoor activities. Was your experience still fun? Like would you recommend to go in February for a fun winter getaway?

Love it at Rehoboth Beach go every year at the end of September. Don't do the heat now that I'm older.But in my younger years went every summer. Hope ya come to PA soon.

Touch of Italy is a great spot for dinner. The also have a huge selection of bakery items. Their almond cookies are a must try! There is one in rehobeth and one in north Delaware in Wilmington
Loved your video! I live 15 minutes from the boardwalk! I just moved down here in November, but have been vacationing here & surrounding areas my whole life. Fun fact, a seagull stole a Thrashers fry right from my hand on the boardwalk when I was a little kid LOL. Those fries are superior.

Oh I absolutely wish we would’ve visited when it was warmer but being from Florida it was so quirky & fun being on the beach in a down winter coat! 😂😂 never experienced that before! Lol oh the fries 🍟 were soooo good!!!

I’m planning on doing a trip to Delaware in December. Just found your channel, very neat goal. Looks like I know what I’m binge watching today. I’m also from Tennessee, about 3 hours southwest of you in Memphis! I feel like the beach is going to be much colder than when you went. I’ve only been through Delaware once and I didn’t really do much, so I need to go back and do something to not feel like a fraud. And can legitimately count it. So can’t wait. I’ll probably check out one of the beached there as well as the two big cities. And if they have a state park or something. I’d like to also check that out. Can’t wait.

The best places in DE beaches are not Rehoboth but Dewey, great brewerys, Fenwick Island and Lewes DE
From my experience, people tend to think Delaware is up near the New England States. They do not realize how centralized northern Delaware is between NYC and Washington DC. Wilmington DE is literally 30minutes from Philadelphia. I think Delaware gets overshadowed just because it's around so many top USA cities. I love the beaches there. Traveling is almost like going through a time zone. Northern Delaware tends to be more urban and city-fide while the lower half gives me southern friendly hospitality. I drove from NJ to DE beaches then to Ocean City MD and then I went to DC. I did it all in one day. It's impressive that there is somewhere you can do that in.

Ah... my hometown. I worked at that Dolle's (0:20) for 4 or 5 summers making the caramel corn and salt water taffy when i was a kid.

We are from England and we were lucky enough to do a road trip in America back in 2018 from Boston to Nashville. We had planned our second road trip in 2020 to go from Chicago to New orleans. You really didn't get to see the best places, there is a restaurant on Rehoboth Blvd that has the best food, It's next to the Post Office. Breakfast, the diner across from Thrashers is the best, with great Hash Browns. I could go on and on,

As someone born and raised in Delaware was excited to see the video and not surprised you picked Rehoboth Beach BUT was surprised you hit in the winter since it’s really a summer destination spot. Must try dogfish pub, grotto’s, Fisher’s Carmel popcorn, Nicola’s…the list goes on…

Was good timing though, Nicola’s Pizza is actually moving from in town Rehoboth after 50yrs which is crazy. And that staple Dolle’s sign might come down since they’re no longer there on the corner (they’re a few doors down at Ibachs candy instead) THRASHERS FRIES!! Vinegar all the way! did you try a Kaisy? They’re sooo good. That boardwalk gets so windy it’s nuts.

Thrasher's was SO GOOD and we did have Kaisy's... Only coffee and Chai Tea though. Should've tried some of the baked goods! And yes, that boardwalk was SO windy! Lol

I don’t remember the whole explanation, I’m sure it’s on their website but it’s like a shredded super fluffy pancake-like thing and there’s a huge variety of toppings. They usually offer samples right away, I’m surprised they didn’t. I don’t work there, just a fan.

And no it's not great in the summer. It wasn't so bad about 20 years ago, but it's becoming over developed because the tourons want to move away from the city and they bring their attitudes. It's SLOWER lower Delaware for a reason and we like it.

I love Nashville. It has that small town vibe, yet it's busy. I've lived here in Delaware most of my life. My parents moved us to Cumming, Ga when I was 13. ( Want to talk about a development explosion...) I moved back to Delaware the day after I graduated high school. I need my salty air.

So Amy and I have you beat...for now...we just DROVE from Oregon to South Carolina and went through 14 states in 4 days! Not recommended by the way. 😩

@@AdventuresofMattandNat it was 51 1/2 actual hours of driving. We stopped in Klamath Falls, OR, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Little Rock and then Simpsonville before ending in Bluffton. We had a 3 hour layover in Seattle before flying to Redmond, OR, so we count that state as part of the journey. 😏

We're all pretty upset about it. The rent is too high and the building is very old. There's nothing like their taffy and popcorn. It'll be a shame to not smell it mixing with the salt air.
