Our TRUSTED Bayonetta Data Mining Expert Rikan just dug up these amazing screenshots of those Bayonetta Variants from Chapter 14 of Bayonetta 3. I’m going to be breaking down the new designs and their back stories.
We are already familiar with the Variant that is based off Bayonetta’s first design, and demo look, but it’s really cool to think that in the lore, this Bayonetta was fighting in a place where there was a winter climate. I’m thinking this Variant was around the northern part of the Russian continent.
But you have this amazing Variant who is based off another concept from the Eyes of Bayonetta book which is another Bayonetta with blonde hair. The thing they changed where the flower motifs instead of the sun ones where even her Umbran Watch looks more similar to Rosa’s. This make me think that this Variant didn’t really get over Rosa’s death and based majority of her looks and styles, of her mother. You even have these awesome needle swords which remind me of a roses thorn, which make me think that her style of fighting was way more bloody - which would be fitting if she was so broken about her mother’s death.
What really showcases the maritime vibe is the Pirate Bayonetta which omg would’ve likely been using the Harpoon Weapon and Kraken Contract before Dark Eve. Omg I think this is going to be the most plausible theory here but what if the Kraken and Harpoon we use in Bayonetta 3 was originally from Pirate Bayonetta since Cassiopeia was rumored to have been used by a Heike General to fight against demons hiding near the ocean floor. But potentially years later, was defeated by Dark Eve once she invaded her timeline. This is my favourite design aesthetic-wise as she’s so hot, but her coat is what gave it away for me being my favourite out of the bunch, I’m a sucker for epic coats.
But then you have the typical Witch Bayonetta which looks more like a League character, but this is what I was hoping for back then where we’d have the pop cultural witch Variant or outfit of Bayonetta arrive. She has beautiful scarlet hair along side a staff that looks like an 1800’s light post which make me think that she awakened sometime during the Victorian Era. Maybe she was looked upon as a sort of cleric within her time alive - I like to think also that she may have encountered or dealt with the problem of Jack the Ripper in her timeline as she may have been an advocate for women which I think is quite interesting to theorise about. This was also based off the Bayo 1 Art Book but they included her staff in game instead of her Scarborough Fair guns.

Just additional info that may not be related, but useful for Bayo lore: I’m glad that we have more coverage on the Lumen side of things as well as the real-world research done by the art team. A Bayo fan recently broke down some things on it, even though I wish Occidentalism was used instead of Reverse-Orientalism, to be more precise. Me and Lorena are literally screaming at these designs, even though it’s unlikely we hope they come out as DLC
But then again im thinking why they made all the effort and then not fully releasing them 😪
I feel like the pink and blue magician witches are either variants of Jeanne or just the generic witches

My guessing is the Japanese one
Is like tamamo no Mae (because honestly they look similar and + demon summoning onmyouji stuff)
My personal headcanons for these variants :
1. The first variant might be jeanne instead of bayonetta where in an alternate universe jeanne is the one who was sealed away instead of bayonetta.
2. The second variant assume the victorian era where she is respected and feared by the people because of her power. Instead of guns Rodin gave this variant a staff.
3. The third variant may be a bayonetta that lives in a colder climate ( maybe she speaks another language like russian )
4. The fourth variant developed an interest in human medicine and worked as some army nurse and maybe there might be a soldier Luka and a general Jeanne.
5. The fifth variant maybe lived in the victorian era back when pirates existed and became a feared pirate in the sea. And uses the kraken as a way to destroy rival ships or start a storm at sea
6. The sixth variant is a costume designer for theater productions ( perhaps ballet costumes? ) and bases her magic suit on her designs. And maybe contracted Baal due to her music theme.
7. The seventh variant probably awakened in the far future where technology is advanced and bayonetta uses advance tech with magic. She probably contracted the umbran clock tower because it's a mechanical demon.
8. The eight variant awakened underneath a body of water in japan and became a well respected princess and warrior ( due to her magic ) and jeanne might be a european entering japan in hopes of making bayo remember her past.
The sixth variant maybe from circus since the costume looks like a clown and the sixth variant might be a gymnastics or a magician from circus and she using his magic and power for his performance in circus
I would like those costumes to appear in a dlc

Really wanna see those needle swords in action! They look like the most Demonic weapon Bayo ever yeilded so far. Also loving the Witch Bayo even if its very simple and generic, since witches are awesome. They can make a Witch style bayo but design it even closer to the main 3 designs.

These would actually make great hidden costumes in the different realities of the game. If they were accessible.
1:24 also shares traits with a Bayonetta 1 costume that looks similar to Jeannes design. Maybe a universe where the roles were reversed?
It's so strange that they had all of these other Bayonetta designs, but just made Viola's mother (Whittingham Bayonetta) look the exact same as the Bayo from Bayonetta 1.
The only slight difference with that version is the placement of her beauty mark cuz the Bayonetta we play as in Bayonetta 1 has the beauty mark on her chin while the one that is Viola’s mother has the beauty mark under her eye.

Sooooo damn gorgeous. Who tf made these designs. I already fell in love with the Chinese clothing of bayonetta and her dead end express weapon. Can you imagine what weapons these variants have ?? I’m almost sold on this game .
@@wisdomseeker0142 I feel like PG is saving these Bayonettas for future installments cuz they said that it would take at least 9 Bayonetta games to fully tell the story that they want to tell.
I think they wanted that shock value of having a Bayonetta who looked pretty much exactly like our original Bayonetta being killed by the big bad. But yeah it is a shame. Do you have any of these in particular in mind as a hypothetical alternate look for Whittingham Bayo?

As far as the first user of Cassiopeia I doubt it was bayonetta. I read no one contracted the octo demon before in the description of the weapon in bayonetta 3 so this weapon at 2:24 has to be called something else right?

Having some of these as costumes would have been nice. It feels pretty lacking as is, especially compared to the older games.
I wish they got more into bayonettas lumen sage half of had a lumen sage version of bayonetta we met or one who used both lumen and umbran magic

Ah the last one is more like Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) rather than the Japanese one. Just look for Hanfu and you'll get what we mean.
All of these outfits should be available if they went to so much trouble making all these variants to be just ghost. they all look like alot of work was put into them

These designs blow everything we got in the new game away, the bayonetta 1 aesthetic was so unique and gorgeous and the third one just feels like a Nintendo game not a BAYONETTA game. Unless her face was on the character you’d have no idea that some of the multiverse girls were bayonetta characters. Don’t get me started on Viola’s design 🙃

Hey @Rakunx, I have a question for you. Since the ending of Bayonetta 3 shows Bayonetta going to inferno. Is it possible that she turns into a demon like Alraune did when she killed herself ?
If so, I wonder what would be her adventures in Inferno. Would she fight other demons to stand out from the other demons ? Would she keep a very humanoid form like Rodin ? Would she help and give her power to another Umbran witch like Madama Butterfly ?
Would Brave Cereza return to save/make a deal with her ?

Not only are the concepts really cool this could mean that those weapons are connected to different demons in different demon masquerades as well. Man I wish these costumes and weapons made it into the game.
SO disappointed these outfits arent playable, the unlockables are soo ugly in comparison. and WHERE ARE THE NINTENDO OUTFITS.

I like the Witch Bayonetta. Her long scarlet hair, the outfit, staff, and color. I know it's a very cliché witch design. But I like it, I'm simping for her.
I have a theory (which could be easily disproven or already implied) Could it be possible that there are two arch-eve origins/brave cerezas? Since the third cereza is implied to be our brave Cereza from the first game, but that was from the first Bayonetta's universe (Scarborough fair/the witch of remembrance). And since Bayonetta 1 and 2 are considered to be alternate universes, it says on the second Bayonetta's(love is blue/the witch with discerning eyes) description that she went through the same events that the first Bayonetta went through. Could it be that she also created another brave cereza?
So.
We know these outfits, plus some more, are already modelled and are in-game, and we have been shown these from the ending chapters.
Since we got the keys/demo as "DLC"
I wonder how likely it is, that we might get some additional content in the future, even if its just the outfits being unlocked in the shop. Or worst case, being put on the nintendo shop for a few dollars per outfit...

Maybe an Umibozu! In Japanese mythology they're basically depicted as giant silouhettes that roam the ocean around Japan. When they appear, calm seas turn tumultous and they either break the ship or demand a bucket or barrel from the sailors then drowns them in it
