    Only works on 38 degree spring angle. 45 degree won’t work on those setting. Learned that the hard way!

    Upside down backwards on a 45 helped me out. Thanks for showing this your way is less confusing lol

      Less confusing until you have to cut a 46° angle or something. Upside down is the way to go unless all your angles are perfect 45°

    Jesus Christ died for all of our sins. He died the death we all deserved. He was the perfect one who never sinned once, but he loved us so much he decided to die for us so our sins would be paid for and we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven before God the Father blamelessly. He is the living son of God who wants to know us and have a personal relationship with us. No matter what you have done no matter how far gone you think you are Jesus can and will save you. All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Believe that he died on the cross for your sins and had a bodily resurrection 3 days later. We cannot be saved by our works but by faith in Christ alone. Repent and turn to Christ. You will have joy, happiness, love, and peace beyond understanding.

    • @hmtrimworks7148
      @hmtrimworks7148 2 года назад +1

      Works for 52/38° which is the common spring angle for crown molding that is sold at the big box stores and lumberyards… The other angle for crown is 45/45° which is uncommon

    • @jamesboxold9671
      @jamesboxold9671 2 года назад

      @@hmtrimworks7148 lol there are way more different angled crowns then that, we used to install a 5/4 x8 crown that we had to compound miter at 18° x 53°

    • @hmtrimworks7148
      @hmtrimworks7148 2 года назад +4

      @@jamesboxold9671 I would have to say the 8“ x 5/4 crown that you said you installed by cutting a 18/53° miter would have to be a custom made product… but the average guy/contractor that is going installing crown in the average house with the average height walls he’s going to be using 52/38° (common) or 45/45° (uncommon) which is why Dewalt put detents on their saw in that (common crown) position…
      8 inch crown like you said you installed is for walls 12 feet or higher… Not common in the average house or install…
      -To get your crown size you take your wall height in inches and divide by 16 and that’ll give you the largest crown you should use on that wall… I use a three piece crown built up to 6 inches on 8 foot walls

      @@hmtrimworks7148
      You could divide the wall height in feet by 1.33 and get the same answer.
      W6ither way is fine. I have never heard that rule of thumb to get the "proper" crown size. I like that. I guess it is really a matter of taste. For your 3-piece 6" crown, I suppose you out a 1x4 on the ceiling and a 1x4 on the wall with the crown "connecting" them?
      For example: A smaller room such as a bathroom wouldn't get the same size as a living room even though the ceiling heights are the same. I mean, it could but, it is a matter of taste.

    Doesn't always work, compound cuts depend on the spring angles. You're better off learning to nest the crown and cut it accurately.

    • @MatthewPeechWoodworking
      @MatthewPeechWoodworking  3 года назад +1

      Your correct. But cutting flat does always work. You have to make adjustments according to your spring angle. This demo is for the most common.

    • @RalphSampson...
      @RalphSampson... Год назад +5

      You can't do it your way if the crown is larger than the fence of your saw. In that case, laying it flat is the only way.

      Still, the idea is accurate for cutting flat. Sometimes you have to cut flat if the crown is larger than your fence.

    • @RalphSampson...
      @RalphSampson... Год назад +1

      It is the most common. That's why all the saw companies put the detents at those angles on their saws. There are always exceptions in life.
