My mom said it’s essential to bring bows to the hospital…if you want your baby to get used to wearing bows lol! This video is so helpful! I’m due with my first baby who’s a girl on July 27th.
We’re on baby watch so our bag is packed up too! Some things I’m taking that wasn’t in the video is: a nursing pillow, essential oil diffuser, blanket (for husband) and a nail filer - I had chipped nails at my last labor from the tight gripping and felt like I was scratching my poor newborn baby. Not forgetting this time!
Love this! I’m due with my second and agree, I way overpacked for baby 1 and don’t plan to bring as much this time. One thing I brought that was a LIFESAVER was the stroller fan for me during labor. I have no idea what lead me to pack that but I was so unbelievably grateful for it when I was sweating so much during my 30 hour labor 🤪 so excited for you to welcome Juniper into the world ☺️
I’m really looking forward to the birth plan. Can you believe I’m pregnant with our 8th child and I have never had a birth plan. My first 6 labors I got the epidural. For my 7th I was too far along and I went all natural didn’t even have an IV. I’m happy I went through that bc it showed me that I was made for this. So I want to make sure I have a birth plan! I wish I would’ve know what I know now and I encourage all women to read the book Made for this. Prayers for your labor and delivery. Thank you!
I’m so happy you posted this because I’m 33 weeks pregnant with my first little boy and I’ve been (perhaps a little early) trying to get an idea of what I want ready to go in my hospital bag. I’ve been binge watching 2nd time mom hospital bag videos since I felt like knowing myself I’d overpack 😂 Edit: baby is here and I still most definitely overpacked my hospital bag
Hey Megan! Loved this video and that you’re packing just the essentials this time around. Something else you didn’t pack that I know I really loved having was a pair of warm fuzzy socks (hospitals can be super cold!) and a robe to change out of the hospital gown after baby’s arrival. Can’t wait to meet Juniper!
This is so helpful Megan, definitely need to use the sticky note trick. I literally just uploaded my hospital bag video but now rethinking all the things I should remove 😂 I am a habitual overpacker but it’s our first baby so I guess it makes sense! Also planning to have an unmedicated labor, I’m 40w4d and still patiently waiting!
The bows😍 I hope and pray Juniper will wear them because we couldn’t get our baby girl to lol! I was so stinking excited to put bows on her too😭 Fingers crossed I’ll one day have a girly who will wear bows:) I’m so so excited for you to meet your baby girl and I’m even more excited to see her and your journey of going from 1 to 2 kids. Wishing you the best!
As a hospital worker,i would definitely recommend bringing a few washclothes or hand towels from home. I would not use hospital towels on my face...just saying and i would bring my own pillow and a blanket. I m the same way at hotels as well but just knowing that our hospital does not want us to theow away towels no matter how soiled they are and knowing there have been studies showing that certain bacteria survives the laundering process...no thank you
Um yes! I love the post-it notes idea. It’s was nice to watch a refresher video on what to pack since I couldn’t quite remember what I did use the first time around. I plan on packing a portable car fan. I got so hot after having my son so I’m hoping that will help. Plus, it will be mid-July when I have my daughter so we will need it for the car anyways. Love your videos! It’s been nice to kind of go week by week with you during this pregnancy.
What tools or things will you use to cope with going unmediated?? Aside from the tea lights and fairy lights, will you use things like a comb to send pain signals elsewhere in your body to distract your mind from the pain of the contractions or anything else?? Some people like essential oils (not only for a diffuser, but simply to smell when it’s needed). Just wondered if you were using anything besides setting the right vibe in your room??
Emergency c-section mama here and they did not offer me any binding related for my belly. I had no idea about them because it was my first pregnancy. This might have led to my recovery being so painful and traumatic. Definitely gonna make sure I'm not left short handed this time around if I have another c-section. Hoping for a vaginal birth 🤞
I wrote out this detailed birth plan using a template I found online and honestly I’m not sure it even mattered or if the doctors or nurses even looked at it. Nothing went according to the “birth plan”, I think it was just a waste of time in one way. My mom thought I was silly for writing it out but I was overly worried about them circumcising my son or doing something to him that I didn’t want done, that I felt I needed it written down. I ended up having to have a c-section so definitely didn’t get the birth I wanted to have, oh well.
Hello Sweetie. I'm definitely so excited to meet this sweet little Baby Girl. I just know that she's going to be absolutely Beautiful just like Rowan was at Birth. All that dark hair too awe. Take Care and God Bless Y'all 🙏 Love From your longtime Indiana Friend 💓
Hey Megan . Hope you guys are well send loads of love and hugs ❤️🌹🤗😘Don't tell me juniper already here ? I cannot wait for her to be earth side 😇take care and snuggles to Roro
Love your videos!! I packed just like you for my baby girl 7 weeks ago! Light after my son who I over packed for! But! I unexpectedly had to stay two nights due to her jaundice.. which didn’t even cross my mind cus everything was perfect with my son. I only had one outfit and a robe.. maybe pack an oversized T or something to go with the biker shorts too just in case! That was my one regret
I was disappointed that our hospital wouldn’t let us record the birth of our daughter. I heard that’s pretty standard these days. How do you get around it ? Or maybe your hospital hasn’t taken it off the table yet.
Yay juni is almost here! I can't wait to see what she looks like... great video just in time for me since I just found out today that I'm pregnant with baby #2 😛🤦♀️😁
Why do you call it unmedicated? Not just a natural birth? Here we talk about birth and medicated birth. So am curious. I hope everything goes well for you and you deliver a healthy baby!
@@laurenschultz2892 uhhh…. Nope! There’s nothing wrong with an epidural or a c section but by definition they aren’t natural. And there’s nothing wrong with that!
@@lilymcmanaway That is when we call it a medicated birth, but why call a natural birth unmedicated? It makes it look like that is a big achievement, while i think that all births are big achievements. Also the medicated ones. No offense to anyone, but sometimes i wonder why we label things a certain way. Maybe i misinterpreted.

Yes, we learn a lot the more kids we have 😊 Congratulations on #2, btw!!

I had no idea what your baby girls name was, but before I clicked on this video I added Juniper May to our baby name list!

Are you going to pack your own pillow? I didn't last time and think I may this time for comfort!
I think it's funny that everyone is recommending chap sticks as I think the best chap stick is nipple cream 😊
