      One would think "oh he just got splashed in the face", until you take a second to think about the fact that he got splashed in the face so hard that he was sent cartwheeling 20 feet into the air. That would knock you senseless.

    Cool vid! But I’m not sure I understand the characteristics of a slabbing wave, opposed to another big wave? Is it the cylindrical quality: that vortex + the heavy volume of water in the barrel? Like Teahupoo ?

    • @The98racer
      @The98racer Год назад +1

      It’s pretty much just what it does it’s heavy lip forced in a single section… they’re mainly shore ish break and are the most odd and uncontrollable waves. Check out cyclops or shipstern buff and you’ll see some crazy slabs

      @@The98racer thanks! Good info, I will check that

    • @The98racer
      @The98racer Год назад +1

      No problem, kinda another late respond but what makes a span truly slaby is the fact that the wave forms beneath see level then grows rapidly and let’s it’s entire force out in a uncontrolled deadly barrel… I assume since this was so long ago you have better knowledge about this stuff.. rocks also form a big factor in this

      @@The98racer haha, thanks, yes i looked into the places you mentionned, and some other slabby steppy unpredictable waves. but it's still a very good description. much appreciated!
