VW TIGUAN MK2 - How To Remove Bonnet Catch Lock Mechanism Removal

Guide on how to remove the bonnet lock assembly on a VW Tiguan Mk2 model, years 2017 onwards.
The bonnet open/closed sensor switch is part of the lock release mechanism, and must be removed at the same time.
The bonnet cable on the Tiguan Mk2 will always run towards the drivers side of the vehicle, so please bear this in mind if your vehicle is left hand drive.

(P.S Yes we scratched the upper headlight bracket :( Be careful when using a screwdriver!).

Hi any idea about replacing the active bonnet hinges if deployed please? Can the bonnet just be opened as normal and do the hinges need replacing or just the active hindge sensors?
