      You're wrong about the Bench Press, because in MMA on the ground the Bench Press is pretty good. You can use it for framing, pushing your opponent away from you when he's taking you to the ground. And if he's on top of you, you can push him up so you can push him into your half/full guard. Also you're wrong about the Squats. Squats only help in wrestling, but not in kicking, it makes you rather slower. So only add it if it benefits your fighting style.

    What you said at the beginning should be heard by everyone. Fighting requires every single aspect of strength - raw strength, strength endurance, explosiveness, cardio, coordination, balance, mind-muscle connection; and plethora of mental strength too, including things like quick decision making. It is really an all-encompassing sport.
    Take nearly every traditional martial art: Chinese Kung-Fu, Japanese Karate, Brazilian JJ, even Capoeira (yes, even Capoeira), and the Indian tradition in Wrestling. Martial arts weren't originally created for fighting nor self defense. They were created because training martial arts makes you strong everywhere at once.

So I do mostly free weight exercises but should I train for sarcoplasmic (12+ reps) or myofibrilliar (1-6 reps) hypertrophy ?? Or shoulders I do normal bodybuilding Hypertrophy rep range ??

    Assault bike is so demanding when you go all out and the bonus is you do not get so sore from it compared to sprints. I personally do it before mitt and padwork for 10 sets of 10 sec, 20 secs rest

    I've been doing a lot of landmine work - shoulder press and landmine deadlift. this style of shoulder press has been better at targeting my core and the deadlift has been giving me a crazy forearm pump.

    Sled work is good too if your gym has a sled. Push forward and pull back and just do laps of that for reps

    I have 0 idea how to fit plyometrics into my weekly routine. I lift 5x a week, do MMA 2-3x and swim a few miles as well. Adding plyo seems impossible.

      Afaik plyo isn't supposed to be fatiguing, so it shouldn't be a problem

      @@arkapravade7234I’m considering 4x a week for my next bulk in August. 5x a week is ok aa long as I don’t go 3-4 days in a row. Hit 1,2,3,4 plates on OHP, Bench, Squat, Deadlift doing it. Used to do 6 but that was so awful

    Don’t a lot of fighters do mid intensity jogs tho? Like you see it all the time boxers and mma fighters will talk about how they’d go on runs during camp I always assumed it was mid intensity or at least they mix in both low intensity and mid intesity jogs
