Nice review! I'm impressed with that model, when I saw it in the catalog I didn't like it, thought the front looked cheap. Seeing it in real life it has nice detail, much more than I expected. I think the lionchief plus 2.0 engines offer a great value for what you get.
It would probably help if they included real photos instead of CG renders that a High School graphics class could pull off. Plus I think the CG model they used didn’t even have the updated front end because I wasn’t expecting that when it arrived!
Incredible model for semi scale, I got the LC2 Hudson not too long ago and I was impressed at what it offered over the regular Lionchief engines. I'm hoping one day I can get my hands on a Legacy engine but for now, LC2 really is a good value for money. I think I'll be picking up one of these next thanks to you.
Ive got a LC+ mike that Ive had for 5 years and it has never disappointed me, wether it was smoking out my room, the sounds, or the long lines of cars Ive pulled with it. it seems to take whatever Ive thrown at it. also a sidenote, that central pacific stock car is awsome from the sp merger set.
Lionel produced an undecorated LionChief 0-8-0 #99 for a cancelled Personalization Set. Details are that of a higher end model and the sounds are great. Would love to see your review and take on this unique model.
I’ve seen the #99 a few times on the secondhand market, but I’ve essentially got the similar model I built. Find my “Lionchief-swapped 0-8-0 Switcher” video
Great Video, and I love your channel! I love this engine, and just picked up the last one from Trainworld. The model runs great and details are wonderful for the price and size. I wanted to ask if you noticed that there's quite a bit of static in the sound set at higher volumes? My LC+ 2.0 Berkshire doesn't have that static noise, so not sure if it is just the sound set or my loco. Let me know if this is best for Instagram DM.
I haven’t run ours at full volume but I have noticed sounds can get a little funny if you crank em up all the way on other engines. I almost never run full volume if I can help it
Exactly what I wanted and electro coupler. I really need a Lionel chief plus locomotive. or a Lionel chief +2.0 locomotive because all I have is basic LionChief and conventional stuff and then I do having an early like legacy, but I don’t have the remote
The original Command Base/Cab-1 systems are pretty affordable. You can control just about anything with them on a basic level. I loved mine before I upgraded to this Base3. Lemme know if you want my older stuff!
I'm gonna use a 2-8-2 Mikado for a G scale kitbash Polar Express in G scale, I feel like that's what Bachmann should have released instead of their 4-6-0 ten wheeler engine.
It’s got it! Actually didn’t run it with smoke until recently but it’s there. Watch the “50th Video” I just made and there’s a few shots of it puffing along
sorry but my original tmcc mikado sounds way better than the 2.0 got burned with the baby K4 sounds good until you want it to go faster. The only good 2.0 sounds are in the diesals
The LC2 Big Boy sounds better than the Legacy LionMaster. But yeah I’m kinda underwhelmed with the sounds on the K4. I do like this Mikados sounds, haven’t heard the TMCC one but that’s also a bigger engine, isn’t it?
I try to keep these quick as there’s a lot of long-winded long-running reviews out there. If you just need to hear the engine alone, it’s featured several times in my running sessions.
Really enjoyed your style of review! Really refreshing and insightful, loved your commentary style! Hope to see more in future!
I enjoyed watching this!!! Beautiful audio and looks amazing!!! I can’t wait to see more of these!
Love the Mikado! and train set!
Thank you! Yes these new Mikados have nicely updated this longtime staple of the Lionchief line.
Great video. This felt very cinematic
Glad you enjoyed it! I wanted it to be a little different from others I’ve seen. Kinda like a narrated running session 😂
@@Dadified86 it’s nostalgic
For semi scale that Mikado looks great, really enjoyed your review on this one.

Great vidio, like the engine. Thanks for the morning coffee...

I got my Pennsylvania on layaway. I can’t wait!

Nice job on the review.
Very nice engine. I like it allot.
Neat engine friend.

Is there a positive side to this magnificent IronHorse? I was just wondering.🤔
I’m wondering, too 😅
@@Dadified86 then again, maybe not.

I hated that they got rid of remotes for their Lion Chiefs...
Oh Hi Dadified Like to My Lionel AF 2-8-4 Mikado ^^😁
Smoke?!

Sorry, but there's way too much chatting. I couldn't hear the engine. What good is a review if you can't hear the engine.
