I looked at him and said to myself “wow, I remember when he was young and had such great hair” Then I had to think hard to remember. I was once young and had great hair! 😊
Guitar Player magazine did piece on him in 1982 or ‘83 where discussed the loss of all of his equipment in a plane. It is a great story how he got it back.
Fresh out of HS in 1976, as his Alive album is all over radio, I joined a popular, working cover band from west PA, playing a mix of dance, pop and rock covers. The lead guitarist, Steve Schuffert (very talented, do a search), was a huge Humble Pie, Frampton fan, so we played a number of tracks, including Do You Feel Like We Do, complete with talkbox solo. It was often the night's highlight.
I actually love this channel more Rick than your first one. Love the interviews with LEGENDS. I almost met Peter in 1977 at the Pontiac Siverdome in Mi. Mom was a big ad woman and was in the press booth and I walked in AFTER Peter left. I was 13. I still regret a little as you can tell. But I don’t regret J Geils, Steve Miller, and Peter Frampton being my 2nd concert. 1st was Kiss Destroyer at Cobo Hall.
One of the greatest songs of all time. One of the very few that gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME. Hard to believe it took a bunch of guys to sift through his tape to find the lick, otherwise it may have been lost. Who knows how many other priceless works of art have been lost because it wasn't caught like this one was.
Back in like 2000 or mid-2001, I heard some cool music coming out of a Borders Books on Broadway (near Wall St.). I walk in and see Frampton's full band performing up in the balcony. He had some shows coming up in NYC that week. Oh what a great surprise that was !
@@RJ-go3sn another time I walked around the corner to Wall St and George Benson was performing with his full band. Full stage with piano, etc. Anything can happen in NY.
After the first humble pie album in America (their 3rd) lp Peter Frampton became a favorite guitarist of mine! Then the rockin the Fillmore album came out and he was supernova from then on!!!! Love you guys!! 🙏
Rockin' The Filmore is a masterpiece and will forever be my favorite live album. I remember being a young lad playing it and staring at all the cool pictures in the album feeling like I was there. It was a special part of my musical journey growing up. I remember when I first heard "I don't need no doctor" blasting out of my brothers room the first time thinking how cool whoever it was I was hearing was and when I got to hear the rest of it wow. Four Day Creep, I'm Ready, Stone Cold Fever ect love it. Steve and Peter's guitar work, Steve Peter and Greg all switching off lead vocals on "I'm Ready" just love it such a great album. Only problem for me after that being my introduction to the band was after that none of the studio albums could ever compare to it for me. I later got the first album Rock On and Smokin' but nothing studio could ever compare to the power and energy of "Filmore" !
Frampton Comes Alive, one of my all time favorite albums! Started with an 8-track that I wore out back in the day. Finally saw Frampton live in 2013. Sounded as good as ever. They recorded the concert and I bought a digital copy. Play it all the time even today. Such an underrated guitarist!

Got this album when it was released in January of 76, 16 years old and in my ride wearing this out...Summer of 76 was Frampton comes Alive and Aerosmith Rocks And Led Zep Presence...a summer I'll never forget ☀️
Good news❗ Frampton is on tour again. Playing this weekend March 16, 2024 in Windsor Ontario Canada & then throughout USA. Incredible off the charts guitarist/musician. Seeing him live in USA in 2011..... It was THE highlight of my 5 yrs living in USA. Don't miss what "could be" the last chance to see this famous Frampton - live❗😃

In my eleventh grade English class we used used to have album demos every couple of weeks or so, and I remember being the "coolest fuck around" for playing Frampton Comes Alive for the class. I was already working on how to play Do You Feel ar the time. "Bob Mayo on keyboards, Bob Mayo."🕶

Back in the early '80s, friends of mine were producing a Framptom music video, and asked me if I wanted to PA on it. I've been a fan since the Comes Alive album so of course! Any production is more "hurry up and wait" than actual shooting, and part of my gig was to go fetch Peter from his dressing room when it was time for another take. He definitely is a genuinely nice person, but none the less, everyone on the entire set was "Mr. Framptom" this and "Mr Frampton" that... as formal as could be. A few hours into the shoot, I pop into the dressing room and Peter says, "Lets have a little fun with them!" As I carried his guitar back onto the sound stage, I loudly lectured him about "Time is money" and "When it's time for a take, YOU need to be on stage!! The whole set gasped in horror, bleating apologetic pleas of "Oh, Mr. Frampton, take all the time you NEED." "We're SO terribly sorry!" ...Peter let them burn a moment, then burst out laughing!! (The shoot lightened up a bit after that!) Also, sampling synthesizers were new, back then, and the keyboard player sampled Peter's guitar, then teased him between takes, playing back his licks at him.
Great interview! I was wondering if anyone else has noticed the similarities of the riff melodies of Do You Feel Like We Do and The Kinks Waterloo Sunset from 1967.
I went to the original tour at Miami Baseball Stadium in the 1970'. The stadium was knocked down ages ago. Peter looks great and still rocks. I've seen him in concert 19 times.
