Great overview of the Ailunnce HD-1! I have been using the Anytone AT-868UV and it also went away from the 16 channel selector knob. The HD-1 looks very promising and I look forward to hearing more from you on this radio as you use it.
I love my HD1 and it works very well with my Shark RF Open Spot. I don’t care if anybody else likes them or not I like mine very much and will be keeping it.
Regarding DMR scan lists: it allows you to monitor several talk groups on a given channel. If you are listening to a DMR repeater, you can add a scan list with your favorite TGs, so you can monitor for activity using a single channel rather than the radio's scan function, which is generally much slower than the scan list method. It is similar to the monitor function, except that scan lists allow you to specify which TGs you want to hear, while monitor lets everything in. It is also useful on an Openspot, if you are not using call routing, and have several static talkgroups set on Brandmeister. This is actually a very handy function, and as I said, much faster than scanning, and works in dual-watch, while scanning, depending on the radio, might not.
Hi, just ordered the HD1, looking forward to playing with this week. By the way, not sure why you blocked your DMR ID. You can access this info on the DMR MARC website.
Hey Bob.. Great video as always. I have been using the HD1 since late October as a Beta tester and just noticed during the video that the Address Book you imported had the wrong format! If you want to get a version that works for the HD1 that is regularly updated, pop along to the Ailunce HD1 Users Facebook page and you can get it from the Files section. You'll be more than welcome there :) Keep up the great work, Bob... 73, Brian EI8EJB
see now that's what i was talking about on your last video. dual band, analog, digital all in one. Price is kind of high but not horrible. thanks. oh and to make it easier, speed your time making a spread sheet with all your data then you can easily copy and paste into your various programs for different radios.
Been using the Radioddity GD77 for maybe a month. UHF/VHF on my OpenSpot. Battery lasts forever (but also takes quite a time to charge). ~$80 on Amazon. Would love to hear your thoughts. Have the TYT MD380 from maybe a year ago. Just sayin'
I noticed that you duplicated the same repeater multiple times in the channel section to make every talk group an independent channel selection. Is it possible to duplicate the same repeater information just 2 times for both time slots and select the contact desired to be transmitted on? Ex. Channel 1 - RX. 440.000 TX. 445.000 slot 1 Channel 2 - RX. 440.00 TX. 445.000 slot 2
Good Morning Bob I tried to do a factory reset on the HD-1 but there is no such function that i could find on the radio. i looked in the manual and on the RETEVIS website. i even deleted everything i could then put it back on the radio again. Still locks up every 20 minutes or so.
Yes, great review, great radio, just when is Retriviis going to issue the GPS variant? I have been seeing ads from people willing to take my money but when I press them on a delivery date they fall silent. I have seen several videos on the HD1 but nobody chats on the GPS variant. Thank you. 73
Hi Bob , great video , I cant open the usb driver file, and the radio software is made in a tw file , my code plugs in a rpt file .I give you credit for manually making a code plug. I tried for days trying to convert files from rpt to tw. Im giving up , thinking of sending this radio back. The tyt was easyer to program, the trevis web site should had have matching usb and radio software files for us to open in the first place .
So for the H1 if there is a dmr repeater with different talk groups on it I have to reenter the repeater over and over for each talk group? (I.e. tac310 and tac1)???
Lawrence KB5ZZB I have the TYT MD 2017 and just bought the Ailunce HD1GPS HT. What a great radio. I enjoy using this radio much more than the TYT. I love the display, it shows the calling station and is very easy to navigate through different talk groups. 73 K6YZF
Hi there... does anyone know if the Aliance HD-1 has a "Talk Permit Tone" (the same tone as the TYT DMR models make when you press transmit). This is very important...
Ho Bob, great video. I have been working with the company on this radio. They are aware of the low audio problem. There is a new firmware upgrade that just came out, not sure if its open to public or not yet. 73s ke8fjw
Hi Bob, just wondering if you or someone you know with an HD-1 has had any problems with the radio locking up and cant power it down? I still have this problem even after uploading the latest version of the firmware. VE7IOX
Pull the battery and reboot the radio. Then try resetting the radio to factory defaults to see if the radio is faulty. Then try reloading your codeplug. Let me know what you find.
I usually love your videos Bob, but this one I couldnt watch past the part where you described what to put in the radio ID part. I felt like this video was not planned out and was more by the seat of your pants and Impromptu. I have this radio and am brand new to DMR, so I was hoping for more of a "dummies" step by step guide to setting up a DMR repeater into this radio from start to finish. There was too much jumping around and dead space. I also think one needs to have a good understanding of DMR before watching this. Any video suggestions for DMR dummies? I'm about to give up. Dstar is SOOOOOOOO much easier!
well done review ----- good production values - intelligent discussion Fusion is much better in many regards - better technology, more flexible, oriented to hams completely, easy to deal with, no codeplugs I want to like DMR but can't. Far too difficult and limited.
Also this is the absolute best and easiest dmr programming video I have seen and easiest to understand. Thank you for your work!!!
Great review Bob, i have mine on order, it should be here by the end of January and have already written the code plug for my area. 73, VK3PGK.

Er, sorry, I meant "receive groups", not scan lists. That's what I get for typing and listening to the radio at the same time.

Love the shirt. I shop there almost daily.

Wich software are you using for programming? Where I can Download?
Excellent video instruction which helped me immensely, thank you
On the setting for MODE.. -do you use SIMPLEX ,REPEATER , OR DOUBLE SLOT? GET constant repeater errors setting this plug up.
You're right about encryption not allowed for US hams. I saw somewhere on the web that it's allowed for Canadian hams.
man i love your reviews! Im holding out until they have a ham friendly DMR mobile.
We are collect the hams suggestion for our future ham mobile radio, if you have some suggestions, please email to hams@ailunce.com, Thanks!

Justin Edgerton I would imagine that would work just fine.
Specs say 136-174&400-480MHz will FCC ban prohibit sale of this radio?
Hi were can I get code plug for my new ailunnce hd1 from LOS ANGELES

Do u buy all radios for preview or ask for a ?
Hi might you have a code plug that you would like to share, I just got two of these radios
Thanks for the review! So how is the transmit audio in FM compared to a TYT MD-380? Is it inferior like that of the baofeng UV-5R?
Yes, its low. I don't know what the MD-380 sounds like though.
How would you compare this radio to the md-2017?

Yes, the latest firmware V1.37 has been released.

Great Video Bob, but I'm getting a creak in my neck trying to view the radio screen.. ;-)
